No doubt but the way they went about it made sense. And its not like they didn't sign Perryman. The dude just didn't want to play here. Burris is an alright safety. With the emphasis on the corners and pass rush I can see where they think they can get away with lesser talents in other positions. O-line needs work. But the weapons are there. I think they were expecting to be able to move the chains like last year and let the defense pin their ears back. Sam is a problem. But unlike Rivera, we are seeing draft strategy come to fruition and actual attempts to address problems instead of relying on Cam and the GOAT MLB to call your defense.

Rivera would have been canned in year 3 without Cam Newton. At least Rhule appears to know how to build a roster. Even if we are sucking ass right now, its still more refreshing then a rehash of Fox ball.

At this point he would have showed more positive signs despite the team injuries. He’s making mistakes that franchise QBs don’t make at any stage. He’s out there throwing dumb dumb picks. Dude is Shane Falco without the badass redemption arc. Even if we were at full strength Darnold was going to be tested at some point. And since we can’t mask his flaws he’s just going ahead and showing us he’s going to hold the team back.
