  1. - The offense played with good tempo - no delay of games, false starts, or illegal shifts that set them behind the sticks. - When the pocket was clean, consistently moved down the field - Short yardage run game killed drives - ran 3 straight times on First red zone possession before 4th down stop by Houston. Then got stopped on a 3rd & 2, and settled for a field goal. - Liked that Brown called for a flea flicker on a 2nd & 1. Jimmie Ward, who is a good safety didn't bite. However, that's a great play to put on tape that we aren't just going to run the ball on every 2nd & short situation.
  2. Imagine the reverse - Bryce throws for under 150 yards, 3 batted passes against the 31st-ranked defense missing two starters in the secondary while Stroud gets sacked six times and still orchestrates a Game Winning Drive. The moral of the story is to allow rookie QBs to develop and take their lumps. It's encouraging after the bye to see Bryce have his best game so far and consecutive games without an INT or Fumble.
  3. I thought Brown did okay. The biggest negative was running it 3 straight times on first red zone possession and going conservative on the third one as well. However, player execution led to more stalled drives. Mingo and Chark both dropped balls in their hands that would have extended drives and OL, especially Ickey killed drives. There aren't plays for 2nd & 20
  4. A win is a win. Bryce has been improving week to week. Some young guys like Mingo, Blackshear, and Tremble looked good. Both Stroud and Young will be good Qbs. Anyone honest assessment of both teams today can see the Texans have a better supporting cast around their QB.
  5. Defense will have to force a TO. The Texan's defense has a stranglehold on offense
  6. Just limit self inflicted mistakes. Holding by Bozeman. Drops by Chark and Mingo. Missed extra point FG.
  7. 3 straight runs to the right. Then defense will allow another 10 minute drive
  8. Mingo drops a third down conversion. While Texans receivers make toe taps and defenders miss in space
  9. One or the other has to give. I think this receiving core is average to below average. If the offensive line was middle of the pack, then it's doable However, you can't have both a below average receiving room and below average offensive line. Honestly, if they acquire a WR on the caliber of Tyler Lockett as no.1, keep Thielen in the slot, and Christensen and Corbett return to full strength will pay dividends for the offense.
  10. Thanks for sharing. I think For Fitt, Barno could be classified as a contributor, plays special teams, and gets about 10-15 reps on defense for a sixth-round pick that's solid. Overall though, the calling card for Fitt was Seattle was able to develop and hit on players that were taken on Day 2, 3, or UDFA (Richard Sherman, Bobby Wagner, Kam Chancellor, Doug Baldwin, etc.) This roster lacks depth and hasn't won anything this year, including preseason games.
  11. With Mayfield, Moore, and CMC on the roster last year for 5 games, averaged 17.1 points per game.
  12. Telling about the program the Panthers built when Moore, CMC, and even Baker Mayfield look better on other teams.
  13. This was posted on twitter and reddit. Part of the reason 0-4, the trenches (OL and DL) are in the bottom third of 3 out of 4 categories (Pass Block, Run Block, Run Defense, and Pass Rush) Moving forward I hope they adopt the Eagles and 49ers approach. Every draft they should be drafting a OL and DL.
  14. @Icege thanks for posting Takeaways for me - Lack of explosive plays generated on offense due to 3 of our receivers (Mingo, Marshall, and Chark) at the bottom third of separating rate and the lowest clean pocket rate through 4 weeks and Bryce's deep ball accuracy at the bottom third - Everyone has room for improvement
  15. @TheCasillas truly appreciate the write up and sharing of all 22 film. The Ickey illegal man down the field is frustrating for two reasons: it happened away from the play of action, where Shenault catches a screen on the opposite side and gets tackled at the Vikings 8-yard line. The play is called back, and two plays later Bryce fumbles. Complete momentum shift Quick rant - I don't understand how Ian Thomas has survived making 53-man rosters for three Panthers coaches - Rivera, Rhule, and Reich. He's not that great of a blocker and zero receiving threat.
  16. For those who think Bryce can be the Panthers franchise QB or he is already approaching bust status - the best approach is to find that out sooner rather than later. Do what the Eagles, Bills, Dolphins did. Go out this offseason and acquire proven NFL talent. Ironically, what the Bears did in asking and getting DJ Moore. Now they can properly evaluate their QB. Fields doesn't pan out, well they now can take a QB top 5, and another receiver top 5 to pair with DJ Moore.
  17. Bryce attempted two deep shots in the first game against Atlanta. He threw a deep pass to TMJ, who stopped running mid way. The second one was to Jonathan Mingo that could have been a 99-yard TD, he overshot was not under-thrown. Against the Saints, he took a deep shot to Chark that resulted in a PI In his third game against the Vikings, he threw it to Chark and got illegal contact down the field. I haven't seen anything from his throws that says below-average NFL arm. If you are saying he doesn't have elite arm strength like Josh Allen, Mahomes, Rodgers, Herbert, etc.. I agree with you.
  18. Could you expound on this. What physical limitations are you referring to? I recognize his height (5"10), frame (195), and lack of elite speed (4.6-4.7).
  19. That is the same drive On 2nd down. Bryce throws the back shoulder to Ian Thomas. On 3rd down he throws it to DJ Chark, holding call against the Vikings now new set of downs. Run, run, then a designed screen pass that a almost picked by Vikings DL.
  20. Like to see Hayden Hurst. Hasn't made much of an impact outside of game 1
  21. I like Cam. He is still the only NFL jersey I've bought. Also, I'm still optimistic about Bryce Young. The NFL isn't the NBA. A QB can take you over the top. However, they are limited to playing one side of the field. You have to rely on 52 other men to do their job. My biggest frustration as a Panthers fan is inability to construct a roster with a solid foundation. No back to back winning seasons, EVER. Most of that vitriol then gets directed to the QB because they must turn chicken shiet into salad
  22. In that still screenshot There are two players the safety and corner converging on Thielen looking at the QB. I would agree with you if their backs were turned or the bull rush from Hunter didn't force him of the spot. The biggest mistake he made was the fumble that shifted the momentum of the game.
  23. At the 2-second mark Bryce pumps towards Theilen to sell the double move, at the 5-second mark Danielle Hunter bull rushes Moton towards Young, forcing him off the spot. The opposite corner and Safety at the seven-second mark are looking directly at Young their backs aren't turned toward him
