  1. Still a fan of the Panthers football team, but I won't go to a game, watch a game, buy a piece of memorabilia, a jersey, anything. I know the NFL is a violent game, injuries happen. But paying your guys to intentionally end someone's career and end their livelihood? Sorry. Not going to have any support for that type of bullshit. Might as well be one of the fans cheering when Cam was getting smashed in the head.
  2. Not defending Hackett as a HC at all, but damn if he wasn't behind the 8 ball with RW imploding at QB.
  3. I don't have a stick up my ass. You called out someone because they have no faith in the organization to make the right decisions. You said they were biased. I'm asking you, what have you seen from the front office, that has given you any indication that Tepper knows how to build a good football organization? I'm just a fan too. But even as a fan, I knew keeping Rhule last year was a huge mistake. Keeping Hurney was a mistake. Restructuring contracts for a player that doesn't want to come here unless he has no other choice was a mistake. Those weren't FO decisions. Replacing grass with turf when injuries are more likely on turf because it's better for your other business ventures. That was a Tepper decision too. Wanting to be able to build a successful franchise and building one are 2 very different things. The things he's done so far don't lead me to believe he will make the best decisions this off-season. Sean Payton may be the best coach available, but I personally find his actions with Gregg Williams deplorable and don't want him as HC for this team.
  4. Please share what this organization has done since Tepper became owner to demonstrate that it knows exactly how to build a successful franchise.
  5. What conspiracy theory? If we try to trade for SP, NO is going to make the cost as high as they possibly can, especially to a division rival. They would likely demand more from us than any other team. If it was us, I would expect the exact same thing. It's just business.
  6. Because the cost isn't in terms of salary. It's in terms of picks. NO wants picks for the rights to SP. You don't think if he says I'm only coaching in Carolina that price goes up? They're going to stick it to a division rival any way they can. Who's the QB you're bringing in next year to make this team an instant contender? A lot can happen in the 2-3 years it takes to develop a young QB, especially when it comes to other players, contracts and injuries. Matt Rhule brought his own staff. That worked out really well. Getting a new HC doesn't matter unless you get it right. Tepper could very well be banging the drum for Sean. He also banged the drum for Watson to the point the team restructured contracts to make an offer for a guy who never wanted to be in Charlotte unlesss he had no other option. And he hired the used car salesman after listening to Marty fugging Hurney. Tepper has had his hands all over how the organization has been run and the results have been garbage.
  7. Because right now we have no HC, OC, DC or coaching structure of any kind. Our FO is questionable depending on who is hired as HC and how much control they are given. We don't have a QB unless you think Darnold is the answer. If you draft a rookie or roll with Corral, you're still 2-3 years away from being a serious contender while you develop your QB. We lack depth, especially on defense. Sure we could win the division, but TB just got obliterated in the wildcard because they were the best turd in the NFCS. If you are going to commit to becoming a perennial winner, commit. Just winning the NFCS with a losing record isn't "winning" IMO. In 2-3 years, is that talent still going to be here? DJ, Brown. Chinn. Horn. What other talent are we building around? We have the potential for a good offensive line, but that's going to require constant investment every year. We aren't ready to compete for it all next year. It's time to get the right foundation and build from there and that starts in the FO with Tepper letting football people make football decisions.
  8. After firing Rhule, and with Tepper's constant interference in football operations, I have no idea if Tepper would sign off on the Burns trade or not. He seems like a guy that think he knows what he knows and consequences be damned. I also don't like that Fitts could be on the hot seat and is having to think about saving his job vs the long term success of the franchise. Tepper really fuged over the organization by keeping Rhule last year when everyone else knew he was full of poo. It's put everything in a bad light as far as operations go. I still think we should have traded Burns if we were looking to do a rebuild correctly.
  9. I'm not crying over anything. It was sarcasm. I don't want SP here because he tried to end careers. I don't care how great of a coach you are, that's BS. We all complain about how much BS it was when Denver was allowed to tee off at Cam with no repercussions, but now I'm supposed to be ok with a guy that was paying his players to do it to others just because he could be wearing Panthers colors? Nyah, I'm good.
  10. Or in a divisional move to fug the Panthers, we trade away our 24 1st to NO, he coaches 1 year and retires again. Though I'm sure there would be a clause to prevent this, it wouldn't surprise me if it happened.
  11. Because a guy in his 30s or 40s is able to be kept long term if he's successful. I know turnover for coaches in the NFL is pretty high, but if you can get 10-15 years out of a successful HC, that's an exceptional hire IMO. And for trading away a future 1st, it better be an exceptional hire. At 59, it's a valid question how long would he be wanting to remain as a HC. If he decides in 4-5 years, father time is calling and he wants to be done because the job is too much or more important things like time with the grandkids, there's not much you can do. Plus, he's already retired once. Very valid concerns for a coaching hire I think.
  12. McD has shown he will adapt and that's what has made him successful. Ron, Fox, even Rhule were all so ridiculously stubborn that the idea of changing anything must have sent them into a tirade. The one defensive guy I think could buck that trend right now is Ryans. He's young and really in tune with the creative aspect of the game, in part I imagine because of who is on the other side of the ball. I just don't see Steve in that same category. 27 years and still no back to back winning seasons. It's time to do something different.
  13. Not really. Wilks is who he is. He's a defensive coach who is a good leader of men. The NFL has made it abundantly clear that offense is going to be the way moving forward with the rule changes and the now feather touch personal fouls to the QB. We need to hop on this boat with an offensive minded head coach instead of constantly fighting upstream.
  14. Translation. Michigan called my bluff and I'm not getting a raise.
  15. Other than for fantasy football, I would have been done with NFL. I'm getting close to being there anyway. It's basically the WWE with the way refs are allowed to steer the outcomes of games now anyway. Unless the NFL takes action to fix some of this stuff, I'll probably be done in 5 years or so. At that point, just hire Vince McMahon and get it over with.
  16. I'm rooting for week old gas station sushi to be served to both teams for their pregame meals.
  17. We could have, but we were dealing with an owner that hired Hurney. Twice.
  18. It they aren't open to being uncomfortable with coaching hires, it makes you question their ability to become uncomfortable during game planning, half time adjustments and player evaluations.
  19. I don't think we have any intentions of trading up. If we did, we would have pulled the trigger on the Burns trade. I know you need an edge rusher, but 5 1sts and 5 2nds over 3 years is a lot of necessary ammo to work with if you have intentions of moving up to get into one of the top 2 spots to get the most valuable position on the field.
  20. Giants player jogging off the field after 4th down with his helmet off. There really needs to be a serious review of rules this off-season and their enforcement.
  21. At this point just put flags on the QBs.
  22. Theres a reason everyone was talking about Cam taking the number of hits he was and the RB at 30 wall. You cant take that kind of pounding constantly without it having an effect. Luck retired because he was tired of always being dinged up. All those hits are gonna add up and it will only take 1 TJ type hit to end any of their careers.
  23. Difference being Lamar is the ravens offense. Saquon is the focus of the Giants. The Ravens are doing the same thing and designing their offense around Lamar running a lot. Thats why its not sustainable if it keeps up.
  24. Payton, Herbert, Ekeler, Williams, Allen, Palmer, Everett. That offense could be very scary.
