PJ Walker is under contract as is Matt Corral. Obviously neither one of them will be THE backups come August, but there is 0 reason to rush out day 1 trying to find a “vet backup” when the makeup of your coaching staff is littered with former QBs and the position coach literally just finished playing as a journeyman vet backup. If your backup plays on Sundays, you are already screwed.

You don’t sign a vet backup to play on Sundays. we have a backup if the need arises, two of them actually. We don’t need to rush out and sign one day 1 of tampering.

I doubt it. He's done next to nothing since his rookie year (albeit he's been out of position) and this coaching staff doesn't owe him anything. They don't need to run anything by him.
