Agreed, I’m just ready for Hope in the QB position. Carr or one of the rookie QBs - whomever the coaches see the most promise in after careful evaluation.

Todd McShay seems to really like Anthony Richardson

I’ll trust whatever decision our coaches make. -

If that is the case, Carr may be the best option. -

If you think you can turn one of them into your guy, don't get cute. Take em! -
QB Hype in February vs. Where they were actually drafted
Wolfcop replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Man, there are a lot of bad QBs (most) on that list. A list like that could scare a team into going for Derrick Carr. At least you know you are getting a decent QB, far from a given in the 1st round, no matter where they are drafted. -
Price to move into top 3 based on past trades.

3rd or 5th will probably be where we wind up. Going to 1 is too costly IMO. -
I hope this does not require studying the playbook because Kyler needs to catch up on his video games.

Coaching Staff: Final Pieces (as of 2-23-23)
Wolfcop replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Possibly - will all depend on the next 2 months. -
There are a few others on the staff who will also make great HCs, like Coach Evero.
-
Can we hire Garry Cobb to replace him? That would complete this staff.
-
Any draft that involves getting a franchise QB.
-
No doubt

Brown sounds like another up and comer, future HC type. A lot of strong leadership on this coaching staff, which seems to fit well with Reich, who is less of an in-you-face kind of coach. No worries, there are plenty on the staff for that. Kind of like the green belts drill instructors in the Marines; the Senior Drill Instructor was the fatherly type that was there to motivate you and be a positive voice after the heavies yelled at you for awhile. It was a nice balance. lol

Duce, once considered for HC in Philly, comes here as a RB coach Didn't know that. Cool!

I am torn. I really want the QB of the future, but don't want to sell the farm (but would be willing to sell half the farm). Like Scott and some have said, I trust the current staff with whichever route they decide to go. Reich and some of these other coaches have a track record of getting the best out of the talent they have on hand, so maybe they make Carr look like a star, or at least a very capable QB.
-
Exact thing I said to my wife yesterday.
-
Need to add 1 more for our new CB coach.
-
Exactly. With that brain trust, I give them the benefit of the doubt.
-
I understand being torn on Carr, but he is definitely a class or 2 above the Darnold's and the Mayfield's of the world. We would likely be a playoff team, though not sure he is SB worthy.
-
To be fair, Waller was out most of the season. I know because he was on my FF team. However, he DID have an elite RB, who was also on my team, along with CMC, Chubb, and Foreman. Yes, I won.

I wasn't too impressed with Steichen's play calling
Wolfcop replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
The offense looked really good for most of the game. They would have won if not for the MJ of professional football doing his thing once again. -
Has anyone looked at our Cap situation for 2023?
Wolfcop replied to SCO96's topic in Carolina Panthers
What is this "cap" you speak of? Never heard of it. -
Love having an insider. Appreciate the info!
-
Unless we can pull the Philly guy - which I don't expect - I fully expect Reich to be the play caller.

From an article about what Carr and Reich may have looked like in Indy in 2022 (written last year): “Carr would help provide the Colts with the stability at quarterback that the team has been looking for since Andrew Luck retired in 2019. Carr is a strong-armed quarterback who would make explosive plays in a Frank Reich offense while also taking what the defense gives him and using his check-downs. At 30 years old, he still has plenty of years of good football in front of him” “Under Reich, Carr would be paired up with the best offensive mind he has ever been with and someone who has the full backing of general manager Chris Ballard and owner Jim Irsay.” https://www.si.com/nfl/colts/news/colts-qb-carousel-derek-carr
