  1. Yeah as many hurricanes as I have been through I was always more frightened of the tornadoes. When I lived up in ILM I had one go through my back wood lot during Fran.
  2. The forecast intensity is raised to 135 kt at landfall, and we are now forecasting a catastrophic storm surge of 12 to 16 ft from Englewood to Bonita Beach, Florida. No other significant changes were made to the forecast. The above from an intermediary NHC update at 7 am. They are expecting a surge of 12-16 feet- those folks got to get out now while they still can.
  3. That is some low damn country in there and all the sea islands as well. Even a reduced strength storm will hit them hard. ventusky is an interesting site and now one of my bookmarks
  4. looking more like what you said last night - potential track keeps moving east
  5. No sense in me planting any winter rye now as it will all be washed away
  6. not sure where that information comes from but as of 8 am today the NHC has it staying inland - of course that may change
  7. you putting in winter rye ? I always seed my back lawn this time of year with winter rye so it doesnt turn into a winter mudhole with my pets. Price of seed has gone crazy this year! Looks like the storm has stopped its western drift as far as landfall. Looking more like Fla is going to take a good hit. Saving grace may be weakening due to wind shear prior to landfall.
  8. someone has taken over juan's account - ie no picture so it can not be him
  9. LOL, yeah so he can get coached up with next years carousel of coaches working for Rhule
  10. I'm conflicted. I really don't like the saints but I keep thinking a loss would put us one step closer to the end of this regime.
  11. it has been exceptionally dry here too in SE NC. Dont know if its related to Ian but they are calling for over 3 inches here starting next thursday going into next weekend.
  12. link for above Spaghetti Models | Cyclocane
  13. spaghetti models for those wanting to see those - by the way since 2018 the National hurricane center forcast (which uses a number of these models) is more accurate than any single model. I've been following this storm the last couple days and probable landfall keeps moving west - wouldnt be suprised if it keeps doing so and misses Fla entirely.
  14. and this little snippet - ut oh ............ More Matt Rhule's future with the Carolina Panthers is shaky - The Washington Post
  15. on second thought it may have been moodeng he was saying I was
  16. I wish so much that the guy from Charleston had bought this team.
  17. Someone please explain why Hubbard is a starter in the NFL
