Posted Today, 04:54 PM Philadelphia Eagles would be willing to trade QB Matt Barkley for a late-round pick. This comes just a few hours after the news broke that the Eagles brought in The Golden Calf of Bristol for a workout on Monday. *Note Eagles have no plans to sign The Golden Calf of Bristol at this point in time, unless something changes. Philadelphia has already re-signed Mark Sanchez and acquired Sam Bradford in a trade with the Rams, to there is almost no chance of Barkley seeing meaningful playing time barring injuries to Sanchez and Bradford. Barkley, 24, still has another two years remaining on his four-year, $2.739 million rookie contract. He’ll make reasonable base salaries of $592,50o and $685,000 over the remaining two years of the agreements. Last year, Barkely appeared in one game and attempted one pass and ran for three yards.

Former 49ers WR Stevie Johnson has left his visit with the Patriots without an agreement on a contract. Chargers are still in play for Johnson. 49ers appear to be moving on from Johnson, even though there was talk that he could return to San Francisco, depending on how things went on the open market.

NFL Notes: Draft, Ravens, Saints, & Vikings Draft Missouri DE/OLB Shane Ray has pre-draft visits lined up with the Ravens, Falcons, Titans and Jaguars. Toledo LB Junior Sylvestre met with the Eagles, and had sit-down meeting with the Colts, Chiefs, 49ers, Bears and Chargers. Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon is visiting with the Cardinals on Monday. Gordon also has a pre-draft visit lined up with the Cowboys. USC WR Nelson Agholor is meeting with the Eagles on Monday. Louisville WR DeVante Parker has scheduled visits with 12 different teams, and will begin with the Dolphins. LSU OT La’El Collins, Nebraska DE Randy Gregory and FSU CB P.J. Williams each have scheduled visits with six-to-nine teams. Ohio State WR Devin Smith reportedly has had 18 formal meetings with NFL teams, including three since the Combine, Ravens Ravens CB Lardarius Webb was shocked that Baltimore traded DT Haloti Ngata and wondered if he could be next to get dealt. “My heart just dropped,” said Webb, “Like, ‘am I next?’ … That’s how I felt. Man, if Haloti’s gone, I know I’m not here.” Saints If Rita Benson prevail over Saints owner Tom Benson and regains control of the franchise, HC Sean Payton and GM Mickey Loomis‘ days in New Orleans could be numbered. Vikings Former Vikings WR Greg Jennings was released with a “failed physical” designation following a minor elbow surgery. Jennings will be fine moving forward, but because the Vikings listed him as a “failed physical,” they are responsible for rehab costs.

NFL Notes: NFLPA, Jameis Winston, Ray McDonald, Browns, & Cowboys NFLPA Incumbent NFLPA DeMaurice Smith was his re-election bid with a unanimous decision last night. He was challenged by eight other candidates. Jameis Winston Florida State QB Jameis Winston is saying He isn’t planning on attending the 2015 NFL Draft in Chicago, and will instead be staying home with his family. Ray McDonald Free agent DL Ray McDonald discussed why his lawsuit against the women who accused him of rape was so important. “I feel like what I am doing is the right thing because I know that I am not this bad person that people are making me out to be. I’ve been fired from my job. I know some teams don’t even want to talk to me because of this past accusation. All I am trying to do is clear my name and move on with my life.” Browns The Brown didn’t just use a first-round pick on RB Trent Richardson a few years ago. They traded a package that included a fourth, fifth, and seventh-round pick to the Vikings to move up one spot to get the Alabama running back. had they remained where they were and bypassed Richardson, they were players like Luke Kuechly, WR Jairus Wright, RB Alfred Morris and either K Justin Tucker or LB Vontaze Burfict all available to them. The Browns managed to get trade Richardson to the Colts and recoup an first-round pick for him, which looks like a brilliant move in hindsight, as Indy cut him loose last week. Although, that first-round pick became QB Johnny Manziel and the jury’s still out on whether or not he’ll be an asset for them. Cowboys Cowboys had a “soft limit” of $5 million annually in regards to a salary for DeMarco Murray. Dallas “never thought” about matching the Eagles’ offer for Murray.

The Cowboys are negotiating a contract with free agent DE Greg Hardy. Jason La Canfora “took the temperature” of some teams this past weekend and he came away with the Cowboys and Seahawks as the two teams who could emerge as serious suitors for Hardy. La Canfora adds that it would still be surprising to see a team sign him before the NFL has ruled on potential discipline pertaining to his domestic violence incident. Teams around the league Still believe there’s a “good chance” Hardy will be suspended for the first six games of the season. The NFL continues to delay a ruling regarding his involvement in a domestic violence incident that was eventually settled out of court. The league will once again review the agreement today, which means there may not be an announcement until Wednesday. Hardy, 26, wound up appearing in just one game and recorded four tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble before he was placed on the commissioners expect list. Last year, the Panthers used their franchise tag on the defensive end, which paid him a salary of $13.116 million for the 2014 season. However, all indications are that Carolina has moved on and he won’t be back with the team.

Former Broncos and Patriots QB The Golden Calf of Bristol is working out today for the Philadelphia Eagles. So if Philadelphia decides to sign The Golden Calf of Bristol, he would be reunited with Mark Sanchez. The Golden Calf of Bristol, 27, has reportedly been working on revamping his throwing motion in the hope of getting another shot in the NFL. The Broncos used the No. 25 overall pick on The Golden Calf of Bristol back in 2010. He lasted just two years with the team before he was traded to the Jets. The Patriots brought him in for the 2013 training camp, but he was among their final roster cuts. He last appeared in an NFL game during the 2012 season when he completed six of eight passing attempts for 39 yards to go along with 32 rush attempts for 102 yards and no touchdowns. UPDATE.............................................................................................................................................................................. The Golden Calf of Bristol‘s workout with the Eagles has concluded without an offer. The Eagles have no plans to sign The Golden Calf of Bristol at this point in time, unless something changes.

Funny aspect: Bengals will get a third round compensatory pick this year for losing MJ, even as he's back on team.

@RapSheet #Browns brought Dwayne Bowe in to visit with the intention of not letting him leave. Big commitment to sign a top WR #Boweheldhostage If they've promised to retain him until he scores a TD, now that is commitment... In 2014, Bowe appeared in 15 games for the Chiefs and caught 60 passes for 754 yards receiving and no touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 45 receiver out of 110 qualifying players.

NFL Notes: Bears, Buccaneers, Panthers, Redskins, & Saints Bears veteran C Samson Satele is someone to keep an eye on for the Bears. Buccaneers Buccaneers will have the No. 1 waiver claim position until after Week 3 of the regular season. At that point in time, the waiver order will be determined by won-loss record. “It’s a huge deal,” GM Jason Licht said. “Bigger than people realize.” Panthers Joe Person takes a look at five potential free agent targets for the Panthers to watch in the coming weeks including: DE Osi Umenyiora, DE Mathias Kiwanuka, CB Charles Tillman, OLB Ashless Palmer, and LB Jacquian Williams. Redskins there is “mutual interest” between the Redskins and free agent S Taylor Mays, but they have yet to set up a visit. Saints free agent CB Patrick Robinson hasn’t ruled out the possibility of the re-signing with the Saints. Robinson will meet with the Steelers on Monday.

NFL Notes: Draft, Giants, Raiders, & Patriots Sam Bradford Could Be Trade Bait For Eagles To Move Up To No. 2 Overall? ESPN spoke to coaches at West Virginia’s Pro Day who said that they aren’t convinced that Sam Bradford will end up being the team’s starting quarterback, and don’t see him as a system fit in Philadelphia. Draft Indiana RB Tevin Coleman has visits scheduled with the Ravens, Panthers and Cardinals, Giants talks between the Giants and free agent S Stevie Brown remain open. Raiders Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie reiterated Saturday night that they are not pursuing free agent DE Greg Hardy. “At this point we don’t have any intentions of doing anything with him,” “His situation is a delicate one. He has something ongoing with the league also. Anything we do (regarding Hardy) is about information gathering, like we do with all the players.” Patriots there is a “strong belief” that once the Jets got involved in bidding for CB Darrelle Revis, it was over for the Patriots. waiting until last moment to lock up S Devin McCourty to a massive extension could have been prevented had they spoke to him during the year. they could have got McCourty under contract for something like $7.5 to $8 million per year, rather than the $9.5 million he signed for last week. Patriots should consider trading for Saints CB Keenan Lewis, offering a late second-round draft pick. Patriots coaching staff viewed WR Brandon Gibson as the Dolphins best receiver, which is why they got him under contract early on in free agency. The Patriots’ interest in veteran receiver Stevie Johnson is “real,

RT @AdamSchefter: Vikings traded 5th-round pick to Miami for WR Mike Wallace and 7th-round pick, per league source. Posted Today, 06:51 PM Dolphins WR Mike Wallace has been on the phone with Minnesota Vikings for the last hour. trade involving Wallace is “likely.” This is just a speculative idea, but you would have to think the Raiders would be interested in at least discussing trade for Wallace given that they’ve stuck out on a number of skill players in free agency and have enough cap space that his contract wouldn’t be as much of an issue for them. After all, they have to spend a large portion of their cap this year and they are running out of worthy players to spend it on. Wallace, 28, signed a five-year, $60 million contract that included $30 million guaranteed with Miami back in 2013, so it clearly disappointing that this is something being talked about just a few years into this agreement. According to OverTheCap.com, trading Wallace outright would free up $5.5 million in cap space next year, but would also create $6.6 million in dead money. This season, Wallace caught 67 passses for 862 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns over the course of 16 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 53 receiver out of 110 qualifying players. Report: Mike Wallace Has Been Talking To Vikings, Trade Considered “Likely” Update: Dolphins WR Mike Wallace has been on the phone with Minnesota Vikings for the last hour. According to Salguero, a trade involving Wallace is “likely.” Wallace has texted his teammates saying that he has been on phone with Vikings GM Rick Spielman and HC Mike Zimmer, and is likely headed to the Vikings.

Bills are in fact signing WR Percy Harvin, to a one-year contract worth roughly $6 million.
