I’ve seen plenty of C grades for their draft if you want to go by the media. I’d put them at a D personally. Second, and again this is if you want to go by the media, Wright, Dexter, and Pickens were all big reaches based on consensus big boards. Especially Wright being the second tackle off the board ahead of Skoronski and Jones, pretty much everybody had him rated behind those guys. So they passed on a media consensus top 5 player (Carter) to take a consensus 20-25ish ranked prospect at 10 overall ahead of 2 guys at his position that the media consensus had ranked above him. Looking at both the NFL Mock Draft Database Consensus and the Pro Football Network Industry Consensus for reference. Dexter was a consensus 3rd round grade that they took like 20 spots too soon with one analyst saying he had the worst get off he had EVER seen from a DT. And again, they could have had the top 3 tech in the draft at 9. So what changed? Why would the Bears be getting good grades for drafting these guys when the media consensus pre draft would have said these were reaches? I think there’s a pretty large push from the media to make the Bears relevant again, and a big narrative push for Poles being some amazing GM. If you didn’t notice the media shift in how DJ Moore was viewed as a WR the second he was traded to the Bears, I can’t help you.

It’s the NFL, so it’s possible, but they were just the legit worst team in the league this past year and weren’t trying to tank. They took a couple players from us, another team picking in the top 10, and fumbled the draft IMO. What warrants such a statement?

They will probably make the Colts game later in the season for better chances that AR is the starter by then and had more time to develop since he needs the most development out of the top 3 QBs.

I think Fitterer was trying to tank. You can’t ask the coaches and players to tank, but you can trade 95% of your already abysmal offense in one player and assume you’d be lucky to score a single touchdown the rest of the season. I think everybody just underestimated just how bad Rhule was.

Some people said Peppers had a questionable motor, but I think that was mostly because he was such a talented athletic freak people couldn’t understand why he didn’t get a sack on literally every play.

He got saddled with two of the legitimate worst coaches in NFL history in Adam Gase and Matt Rhule. I hope he is able to rekindle his career because nobody deserves that. Just as long as he throws our defense the ball when we play him.

I haven’t seen a single report about them even considering a coaching change, much less actively interviewing coaches. Pretty sad.

I’m sure Bryce will be starting by game 1, I just hope all this “earn it” stuff is all coach speak and he doesn’t miss many reps with the 1s. Dalton hasn’t earned the right to be named the starter any more than Bryce has.

The defense probably needs more time than the offense, IMO. Not just a new coordinator, but a bunch of guys who have played in 4-3 their whole career switching to 3-4.
