I see you conveniently left out the part of my post where I talked about actual facts and his stats and said nothing about him being one of the worst players on defense. In response to a post that insinuated he should be basically untouchable as far as trade talks go. We turned down 2 firsts and a second and there was about half the board that swore up and down it was the right call and that it was illogical to expect to get another player of his caliber with the draft picks. He’s a 9 sack/yr. pass rush specialist that many on the huddle value as a 12 sack/yr. 3 down complete edge.

So, after all the hand wringing about Bryce Young not throwing at the combine last year, let’s hear how far some of you are moving Williams, Maye, and Daniels down your draft board. Who is your new number 1 QB this year? Nix? Penix? I’m surprised some of you have been so silent about this huge red flag.

8 sacks last season. Averaging just 9 sacks/season for what should have been some of the most productive years of his career. And sucks against the run. Pass rushing specialist that has only hit double digit sacks once. He is so overvalued on the huddle.

OL just aren’t coming into the league ready to play like they used to, and with our first pick not being until the second round I would not feel comfortable if we just relied on the draft to fix our OL. We have got to get at least one new starter in free agency, preferably 2. The line was the worst I’ve ever seen it last year. We need 4 new starters, but that’s a lot to expect for one off season.

Didn’t you say this in the other thread and then say you didn’t want to talk about it, or was that somebody else? I don’t think Steve Smith’s perception outside of Panthers fans is anything close to this. Nobody except Panthers fans talk about him punching a teammate in 2004 or whenever the fug it was. The reality is, we have a major cuck mentality in our fanbase that lets the media get away with this bullshit. There should be nationwide outrage at the hose job Smith is getting by the HOF voters (there was plenty of outrage over TOs treatment, btw), but there isn’t because our fans consistently side against our own players. Our own fans putting out that he “assaulted a bunch of people”. A BUNCH of people? Come on man.

Just looked it up. There’s only 2…TWO WRs with more all purpose yards than Steve Smith all time. Tim Brown and Jerry Rice. Steve Smith #3 all time all purpose yards (#9 among all positions), #8 receiving yards all time, #12 receptions, #31 receiving TDs. The ONLY category that Andre Johnson is ahead of Steve Smith, is he is #11 in receptions and Smith is #12. Stop kowtowing to this bullshit. It’s not even close and people should be outraged. Steve Smith should have been a first ballot HOF, never mind getting passed up for Andre fugging Johnson.

You’re burying the lead, it’s really not even close. Not only does Steve Smith have better receiving numbers, now add in an additional 4,442 all purpose yards for Smith and 8 more TDs. So for those counting at home, that’s 19,173 all purpose yards for Smith, 14,239 for Johnson. Nearly 5k yards difference. 89 TDs for Smith, 70 for Johnson. 19 TD difference. The HOF should be embarrassed.

Ehhh, PJ was a good bench player with a reasonable contract. We just traded for a worse version and a pick probably around 20 or so, I’m not confident this will return decent value. I guess just a gamble on a Luka injury and Dallas face plant.

I don’t know that it changes a whole lot with this years team. Maybe Mann gets some minutes with Lamelo constantly injured. Hayward hadn’t been playing.

Updated info on the trade now has the Hornets acquiring 3 players, Mann, Bertrans, and Micic, plus “draft compensation” whatever that means.

Sounds like the trade is more about getting the trade exception. Also being reported that Bridges is vetoing any trades.

Over his last 10 games, not counting a game against the Rockets in which he only played 20 minutes, he’s averaging 25.5pts, 4.9rebs, 2.8ast on 50% shooting and 41.7% from 3. Those are star numbers and he’s only going to get better. That kind of efficiency as a rookie wing is insane. Heck, his FG% on the year is just 2% off the 7’5 rookie who can practically just drop the ball in the basket. I can’t believe nobody is talking about him in the media, but if he keeps this up he will play his way into the ROY conversation. Wants to win and takes pride in defense too. We’ve got a legit superstar in the making. Once he starts getting to the free throw line more consistently (he’s 86.5%), watch out. Everything you want in a modern SF.

Who is it and why wouldn’t that be the first thing brought up when people are asking why he got banned? I was called an alt account last off season by somebody so it’s hard to just take your word for it.
