  1. There are a lot of posts on the huddle about how this upcoming QB class isn’t very good, but I don’t recall ever seeing so many obvious tank jobs leading up to the trade deadline. The Panthers beating the Bucs seemed to open the flood gates for some of these teams.
  2. It may be that the deal included some picks being sent back by the Panthers much like the Mack deal. We get the headlines of the 2 first rounders but there is almost certainly more to it than that.
  3. Lions trade Hockenson to the Vikes. We may have already screwed ourselves out of one of the top 2 QB prospects, unfortunately.
  4. Either way, the Raiders were just incompetent. The value of picks doesn’t change because an incompetent FO drafted poorly in the past.
  5. Dude they had Mike freaking Mayock running the draft what do you expect.
  6. The Raiders traded him plus a second and a fifth for 2 firsts, a third, and a sixth. For an all-pro and DPOY. And people here balking at 2 firsts for Brian Burns
  7. It sucks the Rams have already played the 9ers twice or this would be a pretty good hedge on that CMC trade. Missed the chance to give the Rams enough to beat the 9ers and improve our CMC draft picks.
  8. There is no certainty except that time and age are undefeated. The older a roster gets, the worse the odds. With the Rams I’m betting on the decline, and that’s the logical bet. Could they get better and make a SB run? Sure. Heck, the Panthers could make a SB run this year.
  9. Hey if you’re going to argue that age has no bearing on injury and recovery from injury then we can just stop the conversation there’s no point.
  10. That is an old and expensive roster. Even a guy like Jalen Ramsey who is still in his prime and I don’t include in the “old” category currently will be 30 in a couple years. For comparison, Darrelle Revis was pretty much done after 30. Aaron Donald is already 31. The writing is on the wall, that team will be full of cast offs and overpaid free agents in a couple years because they have no draft picks. That 2025 draft pick looks juicy, and the ‘24 has a very decent chance of being a top 15 draft pick.
  11. Which is why they are making the offer, but you can’t kick the can down the road forever. This sets us up to be the team that cashes in when their checks inevitably bounce, and they WILL eventually. This is the only time this type of deal is available. If there was no hope they wouldn’t offer the picks, but there is WAY more risk on the Rams part than there was a season or two ago when they started down this road, and their window will slam shut for years when it closes. Also, the injury bug tends to visit older teams.
  12. Even if none of those happens, they aren’t a very good team. They are an old team getting older, and have no way to get better outside of free agency because they traded away all their draft picks. They currently have a losing record and are third in their division and it looks like it will only get worse for them.
  13. Aaron Donald flirted with retirement as well. Imagine those guys leave and Cooper Kupp gets injured or something. All of a sudden we’re talking top 5 picks.
  14. I honestly wonder if the deal is still on the table. I think this is the deal we heard about last week that was turned down. They may have taken it off the table after he missed Mariota Sunday.
  15. Depends on the picks and the players. Pretty silly to pretend any player on this team doesn’t have a price, maybe you disagree on the price but that’s a different story.
  16. The Rams are currently a 3-4 aging vet team without draft picks to get younger. They mortgaged their future for the SB run. Those first round picks in ‘24 and ‘25 could be incredibly valuable. I like Burns but I think the Rams are not looking like a future playoff team and those picks could both be top 15 picks, if not top 10. It would be a mistake not to take the deal. Maybe see if they’ll throw in a mid round pick this year just to give them even less to build a competent team with.
  17. We’re #3 in draft, otherwise yeah. We can’t put the game in the hands of a kicker who we signed off the street when our real kicker got injured.
  18. The sad reality is if you play for the Panthers you can’t give the refs any excuse.
  19. Looks like 6 out of 10. I’d venture a guess that’s about the best hit rate you could expect.
  20. Just curious who here has ever said it guarantees he’s going to be good.
