It is an odd little cult on here, that is for sure.

Which candidates would YOU interview in round two?

Reading multiple threads and especially the main on regarding our coaching search, it really seems like the majority are in favor for Steichen. I think it’d be a home run. -

I would go with one of the three of Steichen, Kafka, or Payton to get the job. So I’d pick them for second interviews, in that order. -
New Coach Thread 2: Electric Boogaloo

It’s not the only issue I have. He has a 9-19 career record. He lost every big game he coached in last season. He plays a very boring and conservative style of football that the NFL is moving away from. I’m not pooing on anyone who wants him to get the job because it’s a feel good story or what not. But to me he is clearly the worst candidate we are considering at this point. I would pretty much rather have anyone else. -

The fact that no one else wants Wilks is the biggest red flag to me. The fact that people know that and still vouch for him is insanity -

Can this please be the last interview of the “first” round? We’ve seen interviewed everyone and their mothers at this point. Hopefully we have it pretty narrowed down after this. -

Wilkes would be beyond disappointing compared to the other two. Hoping Tepper can get something done so we don’t have to sit through that misery next season. Preferably Steichen. -

Don’t do me wrong, Shane. Steichen ‘23 -
No doubt. Anyone using that Minshew game as evidence against Steichen is pretty off IMO
-
The longer this goes the more I hold out hope Tepper wants Steichen. Don’t want to give up picks. Sure as hell don’t want Wilks. And Kafka at this point is a botch below SS as a candidate after this past weekend, even though I still would be happy with that hire.
-
Fug that. For real.
-
Even if we lose out on Payton, which I would honestly be fine with, I don’t think Wilks is favored over Steichen or Kafka at this point.
-
Steichen, please.
-
The only bigger disappointment if we hire Reich would be if we hire Wilks
-
I would still be fine with Kafka. No way the Giants are a top four team in the NFC. But they had a great game plan all year due to our boy. That said, on this teeter totter of emotions Panthers fans call a coaching search, I have moved off of my Steichen/Kafka 1A, 1B thoughts. I am now firmly Steichen one and Kafka two. With Payton at three, mainly due to draft compensation. Let’s go to Philly and get our man.

If you guys had to bet today, do we end up with Steichen?
-
Thanks. I’m fully on the bandwagon at this point.
-
Can we hire Steichen before the season is over if the Eagles keep winning? I am not aware of the logistics of coordinators in the playoffs being available.
-
We could technically hire Steichen before the Super Bowl, correct? Or am I wrong on that? I do not want to let this guy get away if we wait too long.
-
Steichen looking nice. I’m blushing just a tad.
-
With Daniel Jones at QB and third string receivers starting. The evidence is there that he’s got potential as a play caller. Whether you choose to see it or not is your own issue.
-
I am rooting for the GIANTS tonight and you should too!

I’m good either way with this outcome. Steichen and Kafka are my 1A and 1B at this point. -
After this weekend, one of Kafka or Steichen will be done for the season, and can focus full time on these interviews. I keep checking this board and thread every day, fully knowing we will not be making a hire for at least another week or so lol

I understand. I’m scarred by Fox and Rivera, I do not want any semblance of them coaching this team. And Wilks is that, unfortunately.
