Did Tepper ‘meddle’ this past offseason?!?
electro's horse replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
i think this is right, sadly. panthers were coasting on inertia for a while but its finally ground to a halt there's nothing to meddle with. it's all gone -

Bryce Young Cannot Make Basic NFL Throws

I know we’re just trying to find something to be excited for but kinda hard to judge XL when the saints weren’t really even playing defense yesterday. they were just kinda….nearby…the receivers while Bryce did Bryce things. sucks for XL because Bryce will not be able to get him the ball this year. It’ll be a wasted year of his development. Honestly he’s a reason to bench Bryce and start Dalton.

I wouldn’t even say the second part based on yesterday. i mean presumably knowing protections is part of knowing the playbook.

Derrick Brown potential season ending knee injury
electro's horse replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
no one remembers that CMC was considered damaged goods in the Panther traded him. part of that is just luck, but he also tried to bulk up because the panthers were using him more between the tackles. him being healthy in san fran is almost certainly about being used properly. -

I just want to say that Matt Rhule really came across as kind of like a scam artist motivational speaker type, especially when he looked at his presentations when those got leaked after he was fired. Dave Canales absolutely has that kinda evangelical scam pastor energy going on, and I'm not saying religion is a scam or whatever just that there are definitely people in that sphere who are charismatic and take advantage of people that are susceptible to it. Tepper definitely has a type. -
im not totally sure i agree with "we gotta score" in that situation, especially because the panthers had the ball coming out of half and the game wasn't (technically) out of reach yet. but you can try to score and not stop the clock twice. in that situation, yes you're trying ot score but you're doing so in a way that leaves as little time on the clock as possible. And they did that on their next drive.

and good for him right he worked his ass off all through his teen years and made it to alabama. he won a natty and a national player of the year. he clearly worked his ass off. no one should discount that. it's not his fault david tepper traded up for him and destroyed the team in the process. you can say his coaching situation or team situation hasn't been ideal, but nothing is ideal, and I don't think from what we've seen over 17 games there's a situation where he could reliably be successful. his life is all laid out in front of him and he's gonna spend it doing cocaine better than any of us can even dream of. the appropriate people just need to make the right decisions and we all just need to move on.

Derrick Brown potential season ending knee injury
electro's horse replied to UNCrules2187's topic in Carolina Panthers
Even if it’s not season ending it’s season ending. what’s the panthers record gonna be when he’s ready to return? Why make him and why would he? this is gonna be one of those years players don’t play through injuries and who can blame them. -
Probably a good thing for Dave you can’t access pornhub in NC easily.

Listen, we’re all some kind of professional here. We all have jobs we all have managers we all have reports. By this point most of us are old enough that’s we can smell bullshit. every one has met a new manager brought in, or a consultant, or seen someone get promoted, and gone “unnnnnnnnnn” and then there’s that first moment of adversity and the person completely crumbled and everyone knew it was going to happen except the person that promoted or hired him. In what professional setting could someone say “we knew it would be a long journey to become us” after a failure of that magnitude and not be laughed out of the room.

2 minute warning, down on your own 27, down 23 - 0. Have not done a thing all half. Just get off the damn field. Saints have 3 timeouts left. Basic, basic football is to keep the clock running. Try to pick up a few first downs, or just run the ball three times and force the saints to burn their timeouts and try to hold them after a punt. 1. Bryce incomplete out of bounds 2. Bryce ran out of bounds <Panthers called a timeout for some reason, probably because Bryce can't see the defense and he figured they'd be in the same thing two plays in a row> 3. Bryce takes a huge sack Panthers punt, saints score a TD before half. Now sure, the Saints scored like on the next play, and the Panthers then managed to churn out a 50 yard FG to keep from being shut out in the first, but that is an inexcusable exchange at the end of a half. You still end up down another four points with the exchange. That is situational football that every single nfl caliber coach and qb should understand. You either call plays to chew up clock (dave), or the qb knows not to throw the fuging ball out of bounds or run out of bounds (bryce). Last season, Bryce consistently showed he had no grasp of situational football. We all remember the Panthers killing their own game with those slow, 10 minute, fourth quarter drives down two scores where he'd be walking up to the line, no hurry, etc. He does not know how to play football, and Dave Canales is going to have to bench him if he wants to be taken seriously by the players.

We just hired a coach no one else even interviewed. We’re there. We are late stage Al Davis raiders. And it sure doesn’t look like Canales was vital to the bucs success. -

I’ve heard this before -
Canales was brought in and sold to fans specifically to fix Bryce. this was because he was on teams that had some good qb play. No other team thought he was worth an interview. I don’t think anyone but the most delusional Bryce defenders think anything is going to come of this season, after what we saw today. Let’s just be honest with ourselves. You can’t bring back the guy whose job it was to “unlock the potential” of the qb who’s looking even worse than when he was one of the worst qbs in nfl history. this poo is so grim
