Breer talks about Gase (and Tannehill; oh, and Darnold)
GoobyPls replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yet over the last 20 years only 4 teams have won a SB by a QB they didn’t draft, so yeah the math is on my side. And Brady wasn’t a castoff he chose to leave NE. And if you want to go deeper go look at recent mvp and all pro QBs, almost all were first round picks. All the recent evidence points to my argument you just don’t want to admit it. -

In today’s nfl you can, you names guys who played 50 years ago. And for every guy you named I can name two SB winners who were drafted by the team they won with. And it’s not just SB it’s league mvps, all pro players pro bowls. So were Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith, matter of fact Geno had a worse team. Baker was drafted by historically the worst team in nfl history he went on to break rookie records. -

Getting drafted, is that supposed to help your argument? Lmao Thats how it works, you draft a QB give him a couple of years if it doesn’t workout you move on and try again. And with how easy the transition from college to the pros today today’s game is, rookies QBs should be given less time. We just saw a rookie QB throw for 35 TD last year, and another rookie pass for 3 straight games of 300 yards -

Is his age supposed to erase 3 years of horrible tape? Rosen was 21 when the cards got rid of him, Paxton Lynch was 23, Bridegwater 24 do I keep going? -

Ah yes the the outliers, about time you brought up those two guys. Let’s play a game, I’ll name a castoff QB that didn’t workout out, then you name one. I’ll go first and give you four right off the bat, Rosen, Paxton Lynch, Bortles, Ej Manuel. i will make it easier for you, you give me one name I’ll give you two. -

No I’m advocating for us to draft a rookie QB in the first round, you know like the overwhelming majority of SB winning teams have done. Your the one that wants the Gruden approach with Darnold. Again the Browns are better team than us, also the majority of those guys were t drafted by them, so keep fueling my argument -

And teams that sign castoff end up in nfl purgatory with 5-11 record lingering around being irrelevant never finding a true franchise QB -

wrong Actually the Jon Gruden approach is signing castoff QBs, Gruden has only drafted 3 QBs ever and all have been after the third round. try again though Also since drafting Baker in 2018 the browns have had a better record then us and way better offense then us. So don’t be throwing stones living in glass houses The Browns have their franchise guy, we are out here with Teddy and Sam -

They are not easy to find, that’s why you keep drafting them and not settling for reclamation projects. That’s why the jets got rid of Darnold, why the Niners are getting rid of Jimmy, Rams with Goff, Cards with Rosen and so on. -

The Darnold/Tannehill comparison is the laziest take currently going, a simple google search would show you Tannehill worst season with Gase is better than Darnold best season. You can’t even use the supporting cast excuse, Tannehill supporting cast was just as bad if not worse. Let’s not forget Darnold was also terrible his rookie season with Bowles as his coach, meanwhile Tannehill at least put up decent numbers with the previous coach. Tannehill being Darnold benchmark is laughable to begin with, I don’t want Tannehill as my franchise QB. Everyone in the world has seen over the last 2 playoffs or when ever the Titans struggle it’s cause the opposing team slows down Henry forcing the Tannehill to win the game. I want a QB that doesn’t need a perfect situation to win. But that’s was settling for castoff QBs get you -
So much for the Darnold connection.
-
None of those teams need a QB. The only team that I can think of is Denver and he’s a terrible fit for that offense, they have a bunch of deep threats.
-
Teddy should just refuse and milk the team for all the money he can get. He’s never getting a contract the big ever again
-
Funny thing is that every excuse people are making for Darnold I can make for Geno Smith except Geno had worse weapons
-
Listen to what Cosell has to say about Darnold. Eisen keeps throwing excuses at him about the coaching, scheme, weapons and protection, Cosell basically says he’s the one make them look bad, he’s having trouble completing rudimentary plays.
-
He’s better than Teddy, still not good enough to be a franchise QB. Toil away in NFL purgatory

This is a win win situation. Yall need to stop trippin

Josh Allen??? Last time I checked Allen still on the same team that drafted him. And Tannehill was way better than Darnold. -

They are interred in more than first round picks, and the lower you are on the draft board the more you have to give up.
