  1. Yea I'm in favor of keeping him around just based on potential. My boy did lead an SEC team to double digit wins BUT... Reich has been tied to Eason for so long... unless we plan on hiding Corral on the practice squad, at which point he'll likely be took by New England.
  2. Felix has some serious power. McDonald and Burns would be a helluva combo. Lol, watch the Rams pick him. I can already see Drew Sanders in a panthers uniform although he wont be there when we pick again. He'll probably be a Cowboy.
  3. I forgot about Tank Dell, he's another one. I guess the coaching staff has to decide if he's that much more of threat than Shi, if they wanna pick one up later. That Tank Dell vs Sauce vid says alot though.
  4. Didn't even read your post until after I posted but yea the # of pure day one #1's in this draft might be very low.. With who we brought it @ WR, if we're taking another at #39, I'd want Flowers or Hyatt if either are there. Boutte is a ?? for me but his upside is intriguing. With DJ Chark's injury history and Thielen at his age, I'd strongly support getting someone who could step in. But then again, we still have TMJ(who I'm really high on for next year), Shi Smith (who could be on my similar 3rd year trajectory, just not as dominant), CJ Saunders (who'll probably be cut, but was performing at a high level at camp iirc and was placed with the 1's at some point), and Shenault(who is not a traditional WR but still a threat). We should already be better than last year primarily in the redzone. But if Reich decides to run a two TE system then the whole gameplan switches. At which point Washington becomes my favorite at 39. If it's a REAL BPA pick, not taking position into account, it wouldnt shock me if the top 6 WRs are gone by our 2nd rounder and BPA is TE: Kincaid or Washington, S: Brian Branch or RB: Gibbs. That's actually pretty realistic with how the draft usually falls. I do want Hyatt on this team. Pipedream.
  5. Depends on what you want ...."loosely based" comps. Zay - AB ish Hyatt- Tedd Ginn with hands Downs - would almost be almost equivalent to a slightly faster CMC at the WR position. Zay is still my favorite. With Hyatt being our strongest possibility. And you have Boutte from LSU who has dropped recently. I dont think the WR position is weak at all. Johnston, Burton, Addison, Njigba, Harrell, Perry, Mingo, Tillman, etc. Might be a lack of #1's out the gate ...but it's a helluva lot of 2's and a few 2's that could get to 1.
  6. When they asked Fitt. Iirc he was talking like he'd be the first option next to Shaq. Idunno how effective it would be but in my mind I can imagine good things from: Burns-Luvu-Shaq-Chinn Bro I have no idea what this staff has in mind. Thought I heard him also say Donte and Henderson outside with Jaycee in nickel.
  7. Maybe.... or you do the Brock Purdy. Bears will not have a top 5 pick. Most teams picking a rookie QB have several other holes to fill... most of the time it's an Offensive line or a garbage defense. This was team with Rhule's fingerprints on it and we damn near made the playoffs with the scraps he left. Hell, delete Mayfield and make 1 more field goal and we'd probably be picking in late teens/early 20s. With our defensive personnel ...the new play callers and "actual" coaches..our Oline solidified and improved with a more experienced version Ekwonu... proven playmakers on offense (that actually get TDs..**not a shot at Moore**... the 2nd most cap space in the league and almost an entire draft to pick BPA + the #1 pick. We get the new benefit of udfas and Fa's that actually would want come here now along with cuts from other teams 53 supplement what we already have... yea bro the different variables equate to a different result (If we stay relatively healthy that is). Bottom line: With our D, If this offense can put up 24-27 pts regularly, we'd be deep in the playoffs every season. Thats wat... 3 tds and a field goal... or 1 TD a quarter. If we can manage that I can guarantee you we'd never sniff a top 10 pick again.
  8. I don't think people really understand how good this man could be here lol. If he stays healthy I vividly remember when he came 2 Charlotte with the Jags and Minshew. My eyes were already on him as he's been on my radar since the senior bowl (where he was basically uncoverable). Anyway noone in our secondary could stop this man.. not LB Chinn, not Ross Cockrell, Boston or Bradberry. Iirc he had like 3 Tds that game. Also: I have a strong feeling that TMJ is going to break out. Reminds me of how I felt about Brown last offseason. And that was before and not counting the new position coaches + offensive OC + whoever #1 QB is + the guidance from Adam & Chark. That might also cut into his target share. Just depends on how Reich & Brown plan on using him.
  9. Not entirely...thats just based Fitts with the "sexy" draft comments. I left out Josh Downs as he would fit that category too. I actually wouldnt mind if we went with Trenton Simpson, Drew Sanders or Jack Campbell at MLB...or Cam Smith, Ringo @ cb. Lots of choices with that 2nd pick. Who ever we bring in for visits will be telling. Another guy I wouldn't mind is Will McDonald... Carter II out of Army also. I didn't even mention DT, S, or Oline but we do have options at that pick. Fitts did look a little uncomfortable/undecided discussing our inside linebacker position.
  10. Lol the draft will go Young and Gibbs at #39 Or... Stroud and Hyatt/Flowers at #39 Or... Either of the above + Darnell Washington. Either way, smh I cant remember when we've been this active in FA. 7 months ago we were in complete football hell... complete 180 in every department. Good time to be a fan. Chark, Adam and TMJ: SOLID. Chark with Speed, Adam with route running, TMJ with the pure potential to combine both skillsets.
  11. WR's are easier to find. As much of a DJ fan as I was, he would disappear quite often. DJ could rack up YAC but he always had a problem getting in the endzone, dating back to Maryland. He's been here around 5 years and barely cracked 20 combined. For reference, Thielen had 30 combined the last 3 years. And that'll likely be our slot guy. We've already upgraded in the TD department ...and I think at minimum another FA and a high draft pick are on the way. Burns: If you get a proven pass rusher you keep that pass rusher (See Reddick) ... you can't just bet on high draft picks to duplicate that production (See Yetur) Brown: Brown hasn't even hit his ceiling yet. We don't even know how dominate he can actually become. If he continues his trajectory he will be MONSTER. He played like Pro Bowler last season. Let's see what another year and better coaching can do. Yea, I think DJ was the right choice. Just my 2cents.
  12. This is why I'm hoping Hyatt or Flowers can make it #39... In every mock website I do, he's always there and Zach Evan's also (later). That's actually how I predicted Shaq and Funchess that one year. We are missing that speed threat.
  13. At ILB we have more flexibility than CB. I'm not looking for pro bowler(although I'd take it), just atleast 1 "quality"/average backup. Right now the two ilb's are probably Shaq and Luvu(he has experience). Backed up by Brandon Smith and Mosby..It's not the all pro team but I'd still be more comfortable with a Brandon Smith starting before Henderson and/or Taylor (based off last season). Just watch the Steelers and last Bucs game for reference. Hell its debatable which position is thinnest on almost every level of our 3-4, except S and OLB. DE might be thinner than ilb imo.....and noone knows where Yetur may end up. BUT if I had to address both, I'd actually be looking for an inside linebacker in FA and I'd use a late rounder on corner. Cb is alot deeper than MLB in this draft iirc. QB we have #1 pick for. Dalton and Eason on the clipboards.
  14. There are several reasons to be optimistic about TMJ. I think the reason Rhule benched him was the same reason he drafted him. And probably the reason we signed Teddy year one, Joe Brady. I could be wrong but my mind tells me Marshall was drafted 2021 off the insistence of Brady. Being his main advocate, when Brady got fired half way through the season Marshall's production, reps, and snaps took a nose dive. He shows up to training camp and over performs which puts pressure on the staff. Then he gets injured and subsequently put on the back burner as CJ Saunders starts to impress. He's then labelled a bust by many until Rhule is fired and Wilks takes over and injects him in the gameplan. Now we're seeing the flashes almost weekly. (All my speculation) Side note: And I can almost guarantee you that seeing Burrow, Chase and Jefferson go crazy in the NFL plagues his mind. In an ideal situation he's that possession receiver we need. Hopefully he's working on this route running. And, idunno Reich might have a two TE system in mind with how deep this draft is. But it is evident we're looking for a WR after kicking the tires on Thielen and Chark. Just feels good knowing we have play callers that can actually adjust to the players strengths. Shanualt just has to be utilized correctly, Cordarrelle Patterson-esque. At Colorado he ran the wildcat alot, esp in the redzone, that's about the only thing I dont wanna see him do here. But he is a physical presence and a playmaker. My eyes are on Flowers and Hyatt. CJ or Bryce with one of them would be the move. Maybe Downs also. I'd love Marvin Harrison Jr if CJ was the pick but we wont be anywhere near able to pick him up next year. Side note 2: Originally I thought we moved up for Bryce. That switched to CJ.. now it's back to Bryce. His processing and ability to extend plays are damn near elite. That size just scares me to death. CJ's accuracy and 41 Tds last year is insane though. Bryce has always been the #1 QB since highschool. CJ would be "safe" option, while Young is actually the better prospect all around. We cant go wrong with either but I could see half of Charlotte explode if it's not CJ. Just a rant, dont mind me.
  15. Another LB would be cool but Im thinking we need to key in on 2 glaring spots that are paper thin... CB and WR. With healthy corners we would have won the division imo. And as much as I LOVE Jaycee, he's not even a half season guarantee. Jackson isnt either. I dont repeat that next year. We shouldn't ever wanna see Taylor & Henderson starting in tandem again unless some serious strides are made. We could probably get by with one but if both our starters go down it's a wrap. We need that receiver on the books or 2 possibly. I'd take Jack on this roster though, I think the above is more pressing but he'd be an improvement to whoever he replaced here. But if we signed him I got a feeling it would probably be on one of the more rare 1 year contracts we've given. And Idunno what our cap looks like in realtime but I'm assuming the 2023 slot is almost maxed out.
  16. Low key this is actually a pretty calculated pickup. Solid move w/ potential. And if Campen personally gave the endorsement, the potential might be better than most are giving him credit for. I was just thinking about our Oline depth.
  17. Imo, the best from this class will be Zay. For this team I want Hyatt tho. That game speed...long speed. Reminds me of Tedd Ginn Jr with better hands.
  18. Olineman... I forgot about them. That would be the exception, to a certain point. Greg Little: Was severely lacking in the athletic department. That had to be a Hurney pick. I'd think you'd like to stay away from any lineman that has "plays soft" anywhere near his scouting report. Especially in the top 100 picks.
  19. Music to my ears ... And I can also guarantee, if Rhule was still in the building then AR would be our trade up choice. We all know he was a magnet to athletic profiles. Pretty sure his philosophy was get the most athletic guys possible and coach'em up. Problem he ran into: 60-80% below average coaches made up his staff. The tape doesn't lie.
  20. Idunno, just seems kinda crazy with all the talent in the draft to put that type of capital into a player. That is if we still have the picks. Duce was front and center when we ran ALL over Det and I'm sure he's ready to work with Foreman the most. That said, 3rd year Chubba and 2nd year Blackshear might be better than most are expecting. The development of Chubba from year 1 to 2 was apparent. BUT we still need that physical guy. Probably why the rumours of Bijan Robinson come into play. The combine was cool...didnt really teach me anything I didn't know already.
  21. Lol, I wonder what the staff thought about that comment. Like I said in another thread ... if your going by the QBs in that game vs Alabama ...Corral > Young. Now if we draft a QB and this dude develops into the better option down the road, that would be very Matt Rhule-ish territory. Although a good situation for us. Unless drafted QB ends up a bust. As many dropped balls as he had in that preseason game, my biggest concern: his size (needs to bulk up) and his patience.
  22. He's faster but he's not the better passer coming out ...the hell are these people watching on tape. I will say if his work ethic is like Cam or even close to it, he'll be a good one. With all the Offensive minds in the building, I have a hard time believing we leave the draft without one of the 4. You dont bring in this type of staff to solely rely on the vet route. We're basically built to develop... and offensively we're perfectly built and setup to develop a QB and RB right now...over every other position. Defensively... DB I'd bet money if the picks aren't traded away those 3 will be selected.
  23. Idunno I just have this feeling he's more like 5'8 - 5'10 rather than 6 foot. That could just be an invalid viewing perspective though. Esp compared to his lineman. Hell in preseason vs. NE Corral looked like he was around 5'10 145 lbs to me lol. And he got hurt quickly into his first real action. The batted balls have alot to do with the Oline, the QB's throwing motion and release imo... But like I said in my last post in here if he's there you take him. We can find a way to minimize any deficiency.
