I never heard of this. Iirc he said something during his training about he's willing to play but still wanted more of a commitment from the FO.

That's the thing, we don't know what the peak of this team actually looks like. We've seen glimpses though. Frustrating it is, but as soon as I saw that stat of Bryce's record with and without Mays at C I already knew what was coming. Our gameplan just made it hit worse. I don't even trust Canales with depth chart management. His play designs are good at times but his situational awareness to call said plays is approaching nonexistent territory. Sad thing is if we pull off two more wins we'll more than likely repeat this same process again next season but minus a Rico.

What's the best Thanksgiving side dish?
ColumbusCounty replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
The best side... Mac & Cheese ofcourse.. Which pie 4 the team..idunno but which pie for our current QB.. after Monday night... a 4" undercooked mini pie that's too soft inside. -
Kinda sounds like ping pong is being played in the background. Naaaah that can't be right.
-
Side note: Cmac is a HOF talent...although he couldn't stay healthy he did want to stay a Panther. And all the picks we got in return from his trade, I'd be willing to bet we pissed away.

Lol I dont even wanna imagine Canales's playcalling in the playoffs. Bryce "I have to better" Young throws for 79 yards and 3 ints on 50+ attempts. Chubba and Rico each combine for 3 carries after averaging 9 yards per. Endless possibilities.

2022-Panthers trade Mccaffrey. 2023- Panthers trade DJ Moore 2024- Panthers trade Brian Burns We brought in Bryce Young...exchanged a first and traded away the '24 first, which ended up being pick 1. That's 5 first rounders we mismanging in 3 years. Not to mention the 2's. Take those same 3 players n put them on our roster now and subtract Bryce. Add in Canales's dumb ass and give him either Sam Darnold or Baker...hell give him PJ Walker. Smdh...coulda, woulda, shoulda...

Watching that video what stood out to me was when he said something along the lines of "Everytime this happens coach takes responsibility" Sooooo my question now becomes, where tf is his common sense? .. DC holds hisself accountable for a week or two then reverts back. The more I think about it the more it gets under my skin. THIS is the same guy who in his introductory interview claimed he was so anxious to show the world just how stubborn he was with running the football?!?!? Nah bro Im pretty sure we've always had a "lack of run game" since he's been here. We have a rb with damn near half of 1k yards in 2 weeks and ultimately said fug it, let's see if Bryce can air it out lol..

J Person article on Canales and game plan and Rico
ColumbusCounty replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Aiight Ima admit, I didn't watch the game...just tuned in every now n then... My biggest takeaway from that article: Rico only had 6 carries and Chubba 3 ?!?!? Please tell me that's a typo!!!! 9 carries for the night??... if so, that's a fireable offense. That's actually inexcusable. -
Official Week 12: Panthers @ 49ers Gameday Thread
ColumbusCounty replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I literally just put this in another thread. I added Chubba, Rico and Horn to the Moehrig, Cherelus, and Coker sentiment tho -
Tonight's game is our biggest game since.......?
ColumbusCounty replied to sonburst4's topic in Carolina Panthers
Welp... Primetime... I fully expect Moehrig to show up for some reason. The wildcard is Cherelus. I'll be patiently anticipating the hits. And while he's not the best in coverage... a couple of those hits could have a bigger impact than you'd think. Kinda feels like a Rico/Horn/Moehrig type game imo... I get good vibes about Chubba and Coker as well. -
Cam Gives Further Breakdown of Canales’ TMac Strategy
ColumbusCounty replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
Idunno..I hear u but nah put XL out there at wr1 and lettem try to learn it on the fly or Coker. At the very least if that is indeed the case and we actually think/know they can't do it then it makes that Thielen move look crazy AF in hindsight. . As 4 the 9ers...Dowdle or Tmac - letem pick their poison as to which one they'll deploy more resources into stopping. I just hope tonight isn't a real-time replay of our previous prime time games (minus the Color Rush game vs the Cowboys). -
PFF: Top 15 NFL rookies through Week 11
ColumbusCounty replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tmac keeps this pace and he'll be our first OROY since Cam. -
Yup... now where's the guy who said it wasn't logical for me to expect Tmac to pull in 1k yards... ???? Now imagine how many yards he'd have if Bryce played every other game like this, let alone a full season.

Us in '15 ..maybe not the Falcons game though.. but even as good as we were in '15 I dont remember us getting quite the recognition as we got this year being 5-4. Maybe it was our SOS that year, I do remember the "yall ain't played nobody yet" narrative.

31-17 Panthers 4-5 sacks. Brown, Wharton, Scourtin, Wallace and saxk + fumble by A'Shawn. 1 int.. Jaycee Horn usually turns it up a notch vs NO + Rookie Qb Dowdle, Tmac, and either XL or Coker score Byrce 2 TDs 143 yards Rico 125+ Int on an intended XL target... probably tipped by XL.

Nick Scott may be doing better than thought.
ColumbusCounty replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
From a statistical POV: He's ranked 68th out of 90 safeties. From fan POV: Liability and probably the most complained about non-QB Panther on our roster. Bottom line: He might not be as bad as most think but he's definitely a below average starter at safety. He knows the system and he's a positive at ST though, I can give him that. -
Scourtin, I have zero concern about. Not only is he physical but his particular work ethic paired with that motor already tells me what l I need to know. He needs the reps and more time to develop. Right now he's at his floor but he's going to be a monster once he gets comfortable. Wonnum should really be more of a depth peice imo..... also add Pat Jones to that list. We do need another starter opposite Nic. If the plan is to let him develop in that starting role then the other side needs somebody who can run stop and make an immediate impact w/ the pass rush.

Yea I dont think it's feasible with Bryce. Oddly similar to Cam's strength after his shoulder issue. I think we can work around it as it just is what it is at this point though. We'll 100% never see Bryce throw a PJ Walker type Hail Mary. But we can sustain 20's (anything in the 20's)... maybe mid 30's. Anything after that, we might as well kneel. Sidenote: Canales needs a Darnold-esque qb tbh.. closest we'll see of that is probably Dalton's Raiders game last season.
-
Is it me or do bad things just tend to happen whenever XL is the target? I like the guy, but everytime I see the ball going his way I'm holding my breath. Namely ints... Maybe it's just in my head but it kinda feels like the last half a dozen or so we're passes thrown to XL.

Panthers activate G Chandler Zavala from IR
ColumbusCounty replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thread title gives me subtraction by addition vibes. Rookie year was bad, last year I thought he turned the corner, this year he looks like a liability. -
Yea I don't think this happens. After all the flack DC is/has been catching for starting Chuba over Rico. And I mean flack from everywhere...internet, fans, other team fans, reporters, announcers, etc. As competitive as we tend to be I can guarantee its debated among players and staff, maybe a very small percentage but to believe they all agree with Dave is crazy to me. Canales has finally made the beyond obvious switch only to trade the same player the week after? The optics would look wild too. Then again, I could 100% see it Dowdle was making Panther and NFL history. Ima need a 3rd at min.

Damn ... I feel your pain though
