I think they have a great fan base as well, I’d just encourage them not to be like insecure State fans. Be proud of your school and be happy for their success. No reason to be like State fans and compare yourself to Carolina in everything you do.

For me, it has to do with humility. Some of these App State fans (not all) are acting pompous after another nice win against a solid Texas A&M program… but at the end of the day, Carolina beat App in App’s back yard. Does it make us the best team in NC, no, but it definitely means we were better on that day. App fans need to recognize that Carolina fans don’t and will never care about them unless they end up in the the same conference one day… until then, they are just another school in NC that we don’t care about… kind of like Wake Forest. App fans need to have a a little humility instead of the inferiority complex that’s running rampant in this thread. Be thankful for where they are now because it can all change in an instant.

Perfect week for Game Day to go to Boone as this weeks schedule is lackluster to say the least. Its a shame that App isn’t playing JMU, Coastal, or Marshall this week; those games would have been pretty interesting. I have a feeling that App blows out Troy.

Valid argument for sure, but honestly who knows what happens from there. Did we get screwed, absolutely. Were those calls the only reason we lost? Nahhh… At the end of the day, the Browns still had to make a few plays to get into FG range and then make the kick. We didn’t stop them from getting into field goal range or block the kick… so, the Browns won.

There’s so much wrong with your post… It’s a 10 yard penalty… making the field goal a 68 yarder… the kick that York hit was clearly good from 68… math much? A loss of down does absolutely nothing… are you brain dead? When you spike the ball you are giving away the down… it still would have been fourth down. The 10 second run off doesn’t mean the clock keeps running, it means the clock gets wound down to 3 seconds (as there were 13 seconds on the clock) and it stays there until the ball gets set… Have some poo for being incompetent.

We were in the lead, however, the Browns still completed two passes to get into field goal range and then their rookie kicker drilled a 58 yard field goal… are we going to give the refs credit for those three plays as well? In reality the Browns got a free 15 yards and that’s it, they still marched themselves into field goal range and it’s debatable whether or not they make the kick if backed up 10 additional yards… the kick that they did get off certainly would have been good from 68… so there’s that.

A Hurricanes fan gets it. If there’s one team that gets repeatedly screwed by the officials, it’s the Canes. Yet, their head coach, Rod Brind’Amour, doesn’t act like a child and blame the entire loss on the refs, he usually explains that Canes didn’t play their best and if they did, the call wouldn’t have mattered.

Stop with that nonsense, the refs are the reason the Panthers put the ball on the ground more times than they put it in the end zone. For real though, I think we all agree that the two missed calls were poo. Did it affect the outcome of the game, who knows… York is one of the best long ball kickers in college football history and his kick looked to be good from 70. With that said, there’s a lot more than just the refs to complain about. For starters, our coaching staff is still incompetent and we only played one good quarter of football.

By the letter of the law it’s the correct call but it’s a bad rule. That rule feels like it reads that OL are more important than smaller defensive backs. DB’s are going to get hurt because of that rule.

Think you have to keep him honest, Garrett was ranked in the 30’s among edge defenders in run defense last year. Obviously you don’t run at him every play, but you have to keep him honest and try to 1) wear him down with double teams from the tight end position and 2) don’t allow him to tee off on your QB by getting pass happy. I don’t think we ran a screen or jet sweep to his side once. The best way to wear out a player like Garrett is to make him work in the run game a bit. Ekwonu and Tremble should theoretically be able to handle Garrett in the run game but I don’t recall seeing one instance where we called a stretch to his side of the field. Everything was inside the tackles and predominantly behind Corbett, who was not good in the run game today.

Game plan was poor that’s for sure, ideally you run right at Garrett to neutralize his get off but whatever.. I’m not the coach.
