  1. Wait til the group finds out that the Dolphins 7th round rookie, Skyler Thompson, played the entire game last night against the Bucs. Meanwhile, Corral is out there playing with the cast of The Replacements in mop up duty.
  2. I still don’t know why everyone thought hiring a college coach who lost to Liberty, UTSA, and Duke in a span of three weeks was going to be the savior of this football team.
  3. It was downright pathetic. Even if I was a Commie’s fan I’d be appalled. Only announcer I’ve ever heard that had that level of homerism is Jack Edwards up in Boston. You would have thought Brian Robinson was the second coming of Jim Brown the way the announcer was fellating over him.
  4. My only thinking is that maybe Rhule knows the second team OL is so bad that he can’t trot a QB out behind that group because it won’t allow the offense to operate, so he has to mix and match. On the other hand, if he does knows that group is so bad… why is he continuing to mix and match in practices when guys aren’t hit. It’s taking away reps from a valuable group that needs to build an identity together. So… honestly, I don’t get it.
  5. And another really nice player here by multiple guys. Play starts with Roy getting pushed back a bit but Matt Ioannidis hits his man with a nice swim move and closes up any gaps inside. Gibson hesitates for a second and wants to bounce it outside but Barno sets the edge really nicely. This allows Chinn to come from the other side to make the initial tackle after beating his man with ease. Littleton then comes in at the last second and punches the ball out. After setting the edge, Barno doesn’t quit on the play, he stayed engaged and recovered the fumble. Great play all around by nearly everyone.
  6. Some good things (and bad things here): Great play design by McAdoo. I imagine we’ll see this one a few times this year. Shi Smith clears out everything underneath and Rashard Higgins runs a crossing route right in the area that Smith cleared out. The corner is supposed to pickup Higgins but Higgins uses his speed and blows right by him. Honestly that’s a tough ask for a corner with no help, so overall, great play design. However, the OL was a disaster on this play. Erving and Jordan are blocking air and Ekwonu got beat pretty bad on a speed rush. Luckily, D’onta Foreman stepped up and made the block on Jordan’s/Erving’s assignment allowing Sam to only have to worry about Ekwonu’s missed block. And obviously, Sam hung in there and made a nice throw.
  7. Skylar Thompson looked better than just about every rookie QB imo. That kid can sling it.
  8. I’d like to see the actual first team OL (Ekwonu - Christensen - Bozeman - Corbett - Moton) get some time together so they can build continuity…
  9. Barno was mentioned a lot. Obviously raw, but that dip to get around the tackle and then the wherewithal to get a hand on Heineke to force the bad throw was really nice.
  10. That’s fine, make the billionth ‘Fire Matt Rhule’ thread, I’m on board with it, I don’t think he’s a capable NFL coach at all and I think the way Mayfield speaks about McAdoo says a lot about Rhule in that McAdoo seems to have more of a grasp of the team than Rhule does. But like I said, Walker, for the most part, was fine yesterday. He missed a couple throws and made one foolish mistake on the fourth down play where he should have scampered for the first, but all in all he was decently productive and moved the ball up and down the field and didn’t turn the ball over. It’s not his fault that Rhule has no idea how to manage a team and his third round rookie QB. And honestly, P.J. might not be gone. If the Panthers can somehow offload Darnold at the end of the preseason (easier said than done), then P.J. becomes QB2.
  11. Went back and was looking at a few videos… Austen Pleasants pancaking his man and then Cade Mays pancaking his man over the top of Pleasants was a thing of beauty. Really didn’t have a massive effect on the play because Brown ran between Jared Scott and Nate Becker who sealed their men off nicely, but always nice to see members of the OL finish the play and drive the DL into the ground.
  12. Apologies, thought NYCFC was next weekend… it’s Wednesday. Have to wash this one from our memory really quickly.
  13. Won’t have to fire him cause I don’t think there’s a snowballs chance in hell that he becomes the permanent manager.
  14. FT Charlotte FC 0 - LAFC 5 MAR stated that he isn’t Harry Potter and can’t do magic… it appears Lattanzio is not a wizard either. A thorough ass kicking tonight via an LAFC team that was without two of their best players (Bale and Chiellini). The wheels have fallen off and you can start to see it in the way the team plays and addresses one another on the pitch. To make matters worse, Charlotte FC travels to NYCFC next weekend in what could be another ass whooping.
  15. The sad thing is LAFC did this without Chiellini and Bale. Team has just fallen a part since the Toronto game.
  16. 4-0… This is the beginning of the end for Lattanzio… team is not cohesive and is falling a part.
  17. Afful looks to have shattered an ankle, getting taken off on a stretcher. Fuchs on for Afful Gaines on for McNeill
  18. Kahlina with goes fishing and can’t come up the corner… LAFC finds the open net. Charlotte FC 0 - LAFC 2 This one is unfortunately is over as is Charlotte’s season. They’ll face a very good NYCFC team next weekend in what could be the final nail in the coffin. Don’t blame the team, management did a poo job at waiting until the final day in the transfer window to bring in reinforcements.
  19. HT Charlotte FC 0 - LAFC 0 Charlotte is somehow holding on while not really creating much. Really impressed with Sobocinski though, think he’s got a bright future.
  20. Some desperation defending from Charlotte right now, we can’t maintain possession at all.
