One thing I said about Howell was that he wouldn’t be fazed by the sacks or the pressure. His senior year, he statistically played behind the worst OL in P5 football. He was sacked more times than any other QB that was playing in a P5 conference. I think the question for Howell was just going to be if he had the ability to process NFL defenses. He’s sneaky athletic, can make all the throws, and is unfazed by pressure. His success was always going to hinge on if he could decipher what NFL defenses are doing. He’s been pretty good at it for the most part though there’s times (he threw a horrible red zone INT this past week) that you can see that it’s still a work in progress.

No one has a long Leash (including Reich)

Jeeze man… Day Trader Dave just isn’t going to learn is he. Not every problem can be fixed with money. Until he takes his hands off of the personnel decisions our FO will be just like our OL, a turnstile. And unlike our OL, I’m not sure you can blame the FO and staff for the failures of the man pulling all the strings, David Tepper. He needs to realize this isn’t the corporate bullshit world where he can just throw money at the problem to make it disappear, he can’t just buy a first round draft pick for $100 million dollars (though he’d probably try). We’re in the situation we are in because he was impatient and sold the farm for the one steed that he thought would fix the problem, yet he ended up buying a pony and now the future looks bleak because we have a ton of issues on both sides of the ball and we don’t have the draft capital to fix the problem. Please Dave, for the love of God, take your grimy Wall Street hands off of all the football personnel decisions involving the Panthers and let the people who have actual NFL experience do their jobs. -

Andersen maybe be out long term?

I will say this about Halak, he hasn’t had a save percentage below .900 since 2012, that’s actually incredible. He also hasn’t played behind TDA either… so we’ll see if it holds up. -
For sure, his dad is business savvy, so if basketball doesn’t work out I’m sure he’ll be alright doing something business related.

Andersen maybe be out long term?

I’d up it to a first round pick and a b prospect, maybe Trikozov. -
Hasn’t been cleared yet, they say his status is undetermined so I guess hypothetically he could come back this year.

He hasn’t redshirted but if he can’t medically play then he can’t medically play lol, his heart literally stopped.

Andersen maybe be out long term?
MillionDollarCam replied to philit99's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
So that’s the technicality of it but we actually sent them a decent prospect Massimo Rizzo for David Kase (a player that will never play here). Rizzo was supposed to be in the deal for TDA but when the NHL held up the deal Philly had no choice but to buy him out. In good faith Waddell still sent Philly the prospect they wanted (Massimo Rizzo) in exchange for basically nothing (David Kase). Kase will never play here and is more known for being Hurricanes legend (joking), Ondrej Kase’s brother. -
Not sure where you were this year but Bronny ain’t playing. He collapsed and nearly died on the court during the summer. I’d be shocked if he plays at all this year but he’s definitely not playing tonight.

I’d look at acquiring Carter Hart. He’s in the last year of his contract on a team in Philadelphia that’s going no where this year. We did them a solid by taking TDA off their hands and sending them a prospect when we didn’t have to. It’s time they return the favor and give us Hart for a second round pick and b level prospect. -

Well… first and foremost. Prayers and well wishes and good thoughts and vibes to Zilla. Hopefully whatever the issue is was found early and he’ll make a full recovery. Secondly, Halak is the best free agent goal tender available so he’s not a bad option but this team has cup aspirations this year. If Freddie is truly going to be out long term then put him on LTIR and open up the picks and prospects bag and let’s ship some off for a tendy. -
Potentially, but I was really taken a back by Nicole and Bryce hugging it out before his pro day. It seemed like a mom wishing her son luck. That’s just not something you see in the NFL… like ever. I think the Tepper’s as a whole settled on Young and as whole they need to butt out of football personnel decisions.
-
I definitely think Tepper influenced the decision. I mean this with all due respect to women but it’s quite obvious when they are happy and when they are upset. Nicole Tepper’s vibe and personality was different around Young. Now, I’m not saying Nicole had a say in the choice because if she did it was minimal. But I will say that David Tepper most likely wanted Young which in turn caused Nicole to want Young. Nicole just acted different around Bryce than she did C.J., so at the very least that leads me to believe that the Tepper’s as a whole wanted Young. I do think Reich and McCown wanted Young. Now we get to Fitterer, did Fitterer want Young or Stroud… If he wanted Young whether on his own accord or because he was being a yes man, the result will be the same, he’ll be fired. If he wanted Stroud then I don’t think anyone we’ll get fired which leads me to my next point. Will this be the eye opening experience that causes David Tepper to realize that he doesn’t need to be involved in football personnel decisions or will he just try to fix it by spending more money on different coaches and general managers. I truly don’t think this organization will sniff success until the Tepper’s are hands off. If he wants to see how a proper billionaire runs his team he can travel on up to Raleigh and meet with Tom Dundon.

In McCown’s pre-draft videos (before he was hired by the Panthers), he raved about Stroud. Which brings me back to my point of how long until you see McCown and/or Reich look defeated. Toward the end of Ron’s tenure here you could just see he looked defeated, though it was his own doing. In this scenario, if Reich and McCown truly wanted Stroud how much more can they give to help Young get better if they never believed in him in the first place. I’m not saying they will give up but you can see demeanors change in people especially when they are in charge of something that they don’t believe in. As I mentioned before, Reich already looks worn out. Unfortunately, I can see this scenario ending where everyone gets canned and we have to start over again… but due to trading away our draft picks that might be two years down the road.
-
I think McCown definitely wanted Stroud and I can definitely see an argument for Reich wanting Stroud as well. For starters, a typical Reich QB looks like C.J. Stroud. And if the above is the case then what really worries me is how much can McCown and Reich do before exasperation kicks in? Reich already looks worn out. Being a football coach is still a job and just like other jobs, how much can you really give in a situation that is totally fuged especially when you know that it could have been different if the organization followed your guidance.

Defense overall seems to be better when both Miller and Mark on the floor at the same time.

Got to give it to Hayward, he’s been solid over the last week.
