100% agree, him and Luvu on the outside would be something to behold. I’d also love to see Brown as a 3-4 end.
-
Fangio and his 3-4 is on top of the list for defense for me. Pairing him with Johnson is by far my favorite pairing.

As an Ohio State QB sceptic I got my first chance to watch a full game of Stroud vs. Georgia. And wow was he impressive. After watching the excellent show Scheme with Norris and McCown, I’m sold. Here is the link for the breakdown:

Tepper enamored with Ben Johnson per Person

What he has done this year with the Lions is super impressive. Remember they have Goff as their QB. One can argue he got a lot more out if Goff than McVay ever got. He’s only done it for a year, but in that one year he’s the most impressive OC in my opinion. -
I’d expect the Chargers coaching staff to get fired. Their ability to do less with more something else. They are clearly holding the team back.
-
Doesn’t it feel like that coaching staff has significantly underperformed in the last two years? Is that all you can ge5 out of a team led by a star QB?
-
I agree, the coach needs to focus 100% on coaching. They will obviously be working with the GM, but you need to separate the duties.
-
I have to say that I agree with this. So at least he is learning from his mistakes.
-
If Wilks can pull off a Flores DC / Lafleur OC combo I’m good to go.
-
I had the exact same thought. This might be our best chance to not overpay but still get our QB (Stroud).

If you want to get the #1 pick from the Bears, what's your move?
Martin replied to EgoDogg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think pick 5 (Seahawks) is the likeliest trade for us if the QB we want is there. Stroud might be there if Young and Lewis are top two QBs taken. Anderson and Carter feels like top four locks as well. I also think Colts will trade with Chicago for the first overall pick. But just guessing at this point. -
From what I understand first round interviews will take place this week and the next.

In the comments it was fairly obvious that her being a woman made it worse, but that is not true for everyone, so that is fair. But again, the owners being part of the process is standard and shouldn’t be a surprise. Nowhere does it say that no football people (GM etc.) are part of the process.
-
That would be a very strong plan, I’d be all in tbh.
-
What a bunch of sad people. Upset that the owners of the team will be part of the interview panel. And (gasp), one of them is a woman.
-
Agree. That would be the most important thing for one of these young OCs. How do you plan to build your staff? Are you bringing in any previous HCs for help etc. If they have that, there is a clear path to success.
-
Seems like a very solid group overall. The only one potentially missing is the Seahawks OC. Uphill climb for Wilks as the only defensive coach. Could be really good to pair up Caldwell with one of the young guys. I think that’s why they are interviewing him. Not sure there is a role called “first time head coach support / assistant head coach”, but that would be a good one.

Didn’t know, that makes sense
-
So Jalen Carter is supposed to be in contention for #1 pick overall. I didn’t notice him against Ohio State, haven’t seen him today. Am I missing something?
-
Hiring an agency to help out would give you the exact same line-up of coaches. It is not a mystery who the top available coaches are. Three years ago they would have suggested Rhule as well. This is why you hire a good GM and assistant GM. It should be their job to find a HC.
-
Didn’t Mariucci take over, or was that just a different thing?
-
Well she is the co-owner of the team, so it makes a lot of sense.

I think it is a good thing. She wouldn’t hesitate to call Dave out if needed. I think she wants to make sure the whole Rhule thing doesn’t happen again.
