Panthers Vs Saints 1PM Gameday Thread
Martin replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
He just can’t lead his receivers, every pass is thrown behind them -
Bryce has been off all day. Not sure how he isn’t part of the problem
-
Bryce has been terrible today. The WRs haven’t their job, but it would help a lot if Bruce could lead them instead of throwing behind them constantly. Absolutely abysmal.
-
D Jack has played very well the last couple of games, might be the best stretch of his career. Looks like a very solid #2 CB.

how many of y'all are still watching the games?
Martin replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’ll have it on. It’s a rainy day, so I’ll be home. -
I found this paragraph the most interesting: “They might not know that five of the last six owners to buy (rather than inherit) a team make up the bottom five in win percentage (they do — the lone exception is the Buffalo Bills’ Terry Pegula).” Shows how oddly hard it is I guess. Or that new owners are all know it all types that are slow learners. But probably a combination of the two.

Panthers abandoning Wofford for training camp, will be in Charlotte

I can see that -
I think it is fair to criticize her along with Tepper. It is all clearly misogynistic and sexual references that bothers me. Criticizing is one thing, the rest crosses the line.

The Athletic: “‘Hunger Games’ culture” at BOFA
Martin replied to SuperBowlBound's topic in Carolina Panthers
And that is the best news of the day. There is no way to avoid a reset. Now, who will lead said reset? A new president of football or similar would immediately start the healing among the supporters and is the smart move. -

Fitterer comes off terrible in every article and update. I think he’s gone as soon as the season is over. -
She also wasn’t mentioned a single time in the article. Based on some people’s comments in this thread you would think she would be the main topic.

Great article, the athletic is no doubt worth paying for. To no surprise it shows how terribly bad Fitt and Frank are/were at their jobs, and how bad Tepp is as an owner. It is the trifecta of terrible. Actions needed to move forward (hiring president of football, clean slate etc.) should be very easy to see, but will Tepp do it or not? -
This was an extremely well written article and look behind the scenes. A lot of issues within the offensive coaching staff. Surprisingly Tepper didn’t come off as bad as expected.
-
I think most coaches would have won more than one game, not many more, but definitely more than one. And they would have at least shown some effort to try different things.
-
I was hoping he was going to take off in our 3-4, but I was so very wrong. He’s a good player, but far from elite.

If you were GM, how would you use our that first pick in round 2?
Martin replied to SCO96's topic in Carolina Panthers
Great topic, but the level of reading comprehension is rough. OP asked what you would do. The number of answers saying “Panthers would never do that…”. -

It will be interesting to follow with Penix Jr. At this time last year Will Levis was a top 10 pick. Penix Jr will be 24 (I think) at the time of the draft… -
I think it is fairly easy to be critical of Frank. His scheme, lack of adjustments, and game day decisions were terrible. Sure the roster is terrible, but so was Frank. Both can be true.

If the right QB fell, I would look at that. If not, an OT to allow Ickey to slide to LG or a WR. -
I actually think Nicole is the best chance we have in terms of getting Dave to step back and do the right thing. She is the one who can convince him to do that. How about that?
-
He looks at everything as an asset, and is more that willing to identity a sunk cost and move on. So in theory he should can Fitt and be open to moving on from Bryce. But will he? That’s the question. If he is, the new GM and HC should be tied to nothing from the past and should be able to do whatever they see fit. Now that would give me hope again.

Insight into the coaching search from Jonathan Jones
Martin replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
We can just agree to disagree. I think Frank did an awful job, he was hellbent on not deviating from his scheme. He didn’t care to make adjustments to fit the players, forcing the classic square pegs in the round hole. He did nothing to play to the supposed strengths of Bryce or the o-line, he sat good players etc. Was it hard to win with Bryce? Sure, but it was also an awful coaching job, I don’t know how it can be viewed otherwise to be honest. -

I think it is because Rhule was an asshole and everyone hated working for him. Everyone liked Frank the person. It is a huge stretch to call a HC going 1-10 a scapegoat. -
Frank couldn’t win with the rookie because he did a terrible job. I think anyone else would have had a better record than 1-10 at this point. His scheme and personnel decisions were baffling to everyone. A lot of assumptions here that the dysfunction stemmed from Tepper, but I think even more of it was on Frank.

Frank Reich Fired as Panthers HC - Official
Martin replied to NJPanthers12's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have seen one article saying the front office tried to talk to Frank about adapting things to what Bryce does well, but that’s all I’ve seen. What have you seen?
