  1. And there's a lot of talk but he's still not ready.
  2. I don't know if there's a set ratio for it. Probably varies case by case. I've long said that David Carr might have been able to succeed had he not been subjected to some of the worst coaching and roster management imaginable in his first few years with the Texans. On the flipside, I think you could have put Johnny Manziel in the best situation possible and he still would have been a bust. Guys that go really high in the draft tend to either be going to chronically terrible teams or teams that have stumbled and are starting over. The latter group might have a chance, but the first group is generally doomed. There are exceptions of course, but this is the way it tends to go.
  3. I wouldn't give more than a seventh... I probably wouldn't give a seventh.
  4. As far as the Panthers representation...
  5. They also saw Pickett and Willis at the Senior Bowl but still showed up to their pro days.
  6. That, plus no second and third round picks.
  7. Weak quarterback class... Strong offensive lineman class... Guess what we'll take
  8. We've looked pretty heavily into free agent left tackles. Gotta believe they want to draft a QB.
  9. I'm not gonna take pro day results over game tape.
  10. I can't imagine getting on board with that. He's a college coach in a pro game. I just don't think he's qualified.
  11. Agreed. I'm hoping that whoever they agree with as a free agent, they can put off finalizing / announcing the deal until after the draft so as not to tip their hand.
  12. Ditto. You mean the Horsesh-t Model?
  13. FYI... Florio points out that the draft would be the obvious place to look for a possible long-term solution. Falcons GM Terry Fontenot acknowledges that they're going to be looking hard at the draft prospects but says he won't reach for one. If I had to guess, I'd say they're probably going to draft a quarterback. Something to keep in mind if you're talking about trading back...
  14. Looked him up. Yeah, Rosen was with the Falcons last year. Right now he's a free agent.
  15. I think he's a backup somewhere. Could swear it's the Falcons actually.
  16. Don't know, but I will say that I was never that big a fan of him. Not saying that he's bad or anything, but with all the hype that I constantly heard about him I expected a virtual football god. Then whenever I actually saw him play, I saw good, but I didn't see god. So is he a bust? Probably not, but I do feel like he's been badly overhyped.
  17. That's part of what I'm wondering, whether there are some contracts not fully processed yet.
  18. I'll repeat what I said elsewhere... The only quarterback prediction I feel comfortable making right now is that Matt Rhule doesn't want to go into this season with Sam Darnold as his starter. That makes me think that either we're going to draft whichever rookie he likes best (I would guess Pickett) or if we don't pick one, we're going to revisit possible trades like Garoppolo or Mayfield after the draft. Which option's better? Don't know.
  19. That hit the Cowboys pretty hard a few years back, didn't it?
