Apparently Rhule spoke to Charlotte reporters
Mr. Scot replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
All coaches do that to some level, but some are better at it than others. Payton used primarily WCO concepts in his play design. His particular spin included a lot of natural picks. They concentrated on consistency more so than big plays, and he found the perfect quarterback to run it. -
“A lot of mid-tier prospects, but no franchise QB”

Newton was a far superior college player to Willis, and against much better competition.- 28 replies

Agreed on all points

I can't believe you pulled that image out

I said before that I think it's kinda silly we've spent all this time mocking Rhule for being worried about Christensen and Slater's arm length only to turn around and now be all caught up in Pickett's hand size. To be clear, I don't want us to draft Pickett, but his hand size isn't part of the reason why.

Ranked Mayfield behind Darnold, Rudolph and Rosen? Ouch

It's being hinted that McAdoo wants big road graders. We don't exactly have a lot of guys who fit that profile right now. -

I'd like to think that would have started with the head coach. -
I think the idea that Newton still has full seasons left in him is a fallacy. The idea that Willis is going to be anything like him might be an even bigger one.

Christensen has short arms. (Rashawn Slater does too)

I'm fully prepared to watch us take a quarterback even if they are. -
There's a part of me that's always going to wonder how things would have played out if Tepper had done the right thing and fired Marty first.

That's...cringeworthy

Interesting stuff. Over the years, I've bought a load of books on coaching, strategies, even scouting and such but never looked into anything online. Wasn't really even aware that it existed (though obviously it makes sense).

Tell me about those

And you thought Scott Fitterer was in on every deal...

Liberty QB Malik Willis met with the Panthers
Mr. Scot replied to MechaZain's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fitterer doesn't have the power to overrule him. Tepper doesn't appear to be inclined. -

Enough of one to read this? How the backside drag hand in outside zone benefits offensive linemen Great title Seriously though, if you're enough of a nerd that you can actually get interested in learning about blocking concepts and such, this article's author, Brandon Thorn, is a good follow on Twitter. In a year when we could really use some good linemen in the draft, a little info can be useful. Maybe not to the level of this article, but hey

We couldn't swing a decent trade down offer last year when Justin Fields and Mac Jones were still on the table. I have a hard time believing we get one this year.

WCO is what Brady ran (influenced by Sean Payton) -

WCO was what I figured because that's the style we've run, but bigger, "downhill" linemen don't necessarily fit that sort of approach. -

Sounds like we might be moving away from the WCO base (haven't looked at McAdoo's past philosophy) Ugh On that note... Okay... Agree on that at least... Uh huh...Sure
