Not actually true. Other bidders had the funds. As I recall, Tepper actually would have been the lowest bidder. Unfortunately for us, he was who the NFL wanted so we're stuck with the Horsesh-t Model

Same reason he was on the table before... At issue is whether Matt Rhule thinks Garoppolo will help him save his job. If the answer is yes, then I absolutely expect him to be pursued.

Don't know that they had any issues with Navarro so much as they just really wanted Tepper. They told one of the other bidders (Michael Rubin, maybe) that he didn't need to continue unless he was prepared to spend 5 billion. He wasn't, so he dropped out. And then of course the team sold for far less than that.

Technically, the NFL got us into it. As I recall, sentiment around here generally favored Ben Navarro. Would he have been better? Don't know, but so far Tepper is horse sh-t.

Technically three, with the third being that San Francisco has to become comfortable with the idea of Trey Lance as their starter. There's been some chatter that's not especially close to happening.

Something a lot of people don't get... Different teams' evaluations of players can vary...a lot. You can't assume that just because one team rated a certain player high or low, everyone else did too
