He followed Mora to New Orleans, led the team in tackles in seven of his nine seasons. “He’s the best player I ever coached,” Mora said. Onto expansion Carolina. At 36, he led the Panthers in tackles, interceptions, forced fumbles and was third in Defensive Player of the Year voting. At 37, he led the Panthers to the NFC Championship Game in their second year—and had 47 more tackles than anyone on the team. In 15 pro seasons, he led his team in tackles 12 times, and was a defensive captain for three franchises that made the playoffs. He played three years for the Panthers and was so beloved that they put a statue of him outside the stadium. “When you’re my size, you have to prove yourself every play, every day,” he once said. That is a Hall of Fame football player. And that’s why when people say it’s become the Hall of Very Good, I point to Sam Mills and say, “He wasn’t a very good player. He was a great one.” ... Whatever you may think or feel about King, this is a good response.

What's the last laugh? As Rayzor pointed out, he played in a championship game that Matt Rhule is never even going to come close to. Not sure how Rhule "wins" on any level here.

For the record, we have a GM with over 20 years of experience in college scouting, and a solid reputation for doing it well. We also have an assistant GM who's considered a riding star in the pro scouting department, so much so that he's been looked at for GM opportunities already because of it. And in authority over them both, we have Matt Rhule

This is considered to b a great draft for offensive linemen. So naturally, we won't get any of them Not gonna bother to go back and research it, but it feels like every time I've heard somebody say "this is a great draft for Position X", we've largely ignored Position X.

Matt Rhule doesn't have analytic reasoning. He has excuses. As for me, I'm not that interested in the hand size thing. I'm also not a huge fan of Kenny Pickett, but that has nothing to do with his hand size.

By that standard, Aaron Rodgers isn't a franchise quarterback. I've never bought into the idea that a guy has to be able to "do it by himself" to be called a franchise quarterback because in fifty years of watching football, I've never seen a guy who can do it by himself. It's always been a team sport (always will be) and having good players around them should never be used as an argument to diminish anyone's abilities.

Can't help feeling that if we address the line via free agency, our top draft pick is gonna be a quarterback out of Pittsburgh. (and I do believe we're going to try and go that route)

I get it, but to be fair the social media team's job is to try and be positive. I can't blame them for that. Our team ownership and coaching being dog sh-t isn't their fault.
