    I know a guy who was studying to be a doctor but decided to be a football coach instead. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

    Still two surgeries to go. They're not internal like her last one, but still risky (could leave her unable to walk) and the recovery period is likely to be longer and more difficult. That's gonna be the bigger part of this year.

    Lady Cowboy Fan is improving after her surgery. She wasn't in as much pain as she had been over the past week and was even able to get up and do some things she'd been wanting to. Panthers football might suck right now, but for me, there's that.

    Giants down to three GM choices... The expectation is that whoever they choose at GM will have say in who they hire at head coach. Logical connections would be Poles-Bieniemy, Schoen-Daboll, Peters- Flores.

    Some teams are smart without hindsight. Granted, we're not one of those right now.

    Given that they chose Tua over Justin Herbert, I'm gonna say the "smart" part probably doesn't apply.

    There's no more "right position" than being in a place to take the first quarterback overall. Yet teams that have been in that place have taken guys like JaMarcus Russell, David Carr and Tim Couch among others. Those examples would make me think that being smart is...well, kind of important.

    Anybody who's been in the workforce for a decent length of time has probably interviewed with somebody that they perceived to be a dumbass at least once. That's probably the experience of our OC candidates right now. And if it's not, that doesn't say much for them either

    Gruden already having experience working under a sh-tty owner would likely work in his favor as well.

    That's an even bigger problem if you trade away the resources that you were going to use to build.

    Smart teams can get the right guy with just one.

    Brady didn't deserve them either. Hell, he didn't really deserve the job he had.

    Dodds might not see Fields as a franchise QB. That, or he might see the Bears organization as highly dysfunctional. (not exactly a stretch)

    Dodds has said he wouldn't take a GM job until he felt it was "the perfect fit". Obviously, working under Matt Rhule wasn't it.

    Here's a combo I wouldn't have expected... Albert Breer reports that if Adam Peters gets the Giants job, he could wind up paired with Brian Flores as his head coach.     Truth be told, he may not be alone. Even the guys who have interviewed with us, who's to say they don't wait and see if there's a better offer once the other job openings start getting filled?
