  1. A team with a power vacuum? That might be of interest to a guy who wants control of everything.
  2. If I were forced to make a prediction, it'd be that Rhule will still be here next season. But a lot can change between now and season's end so who knows?
  3. It looks a lot "barer" when the people in charge don't know what they're doing.
  4. That pretty much sums up the history of this team in a single sentence.
  5. He's not a talent evaluator. When I look at out r front office right now, I see a GM with a load of college scouting experience (Fitterer) and an Assistant GM who's been successful in pro scouting. That's a combo I really want to see in action. Funny thing is it's also what Tepper promised we'd have when he was gonna hire an Assistant GM type to pair with Marty. That turned out to be bullsh-t, but hey...
  6. Not a fan of that philosophy, never have been... You need starters that play their positions well. Versatility is for backups.
  7. Thanks man, and thanks again to everybody for the well wishes. Lady Cowboy Fan is having kind of a rough time right now. I keep trying to get her to slow down and relax but she refuses. She's one of those people who only rests when she's exhausted, and there's always something that needs to be done right now. I suppose I could be like that too if I wanted, but these days I find it's a lot easier to get exhausted than it used to be
  8. I could live with trading down thisyear. It's a pretty good OL draft. QB? Not so much.
  9. Word was he tried to get a two year contract from the Panthers. They got him to settle for one year instead by adding more money to the deal. Any more games like this past Sunday and he'll have no leverage for anything like that. He's gonna need some more performances like the week before or better to restart that conversation. I think he's capable but we'll see.
  10. Fitterer got a 7th for Greg Little, so...
  11. The sources are legit. NBC Sports, CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated all mention the possibility. If you do a quick internet search for "Matt Rhule Oklahoma" or "Matt Rhule Notre Dame" you'll find plenty more, including from sources local to both teams. To be fair, he's getting eaten alive here.
  12. I think he primarily meant that he was better suited to being a college coach, but I had a similar response.
  13. Better college coach than pro coach...yeah. I still question how great a college coach he really is though. I can't recall his teams being all that great against bigger schools or winning bunch of bowl games.
  14. I don't honestly remember the discussion. I would say right now that while this team certainly has talent in spots (this year's receiver group would definitely trump the 2015 bunch) the coaching staff is...deficient.
  15. It does when you consider they were exactly the kind of lineman that Matt Rhule wanted. (which is actually one of the roots of the problem)
  16. Dorsey or Brian Schottenheimer would be OC options. DC? He could get Patrick Graham, Bob Babich or Ed Donatell. Could also conceivably get Mike Zimmer if the Vikes fire him (he's worked with Zimmer's son Adam before).
  17. Also know how he feels about guys he's recruited before. We'll have to wait and see which feeling is stronger.
