That's one of the funniest videos I've seen in a long time
-
Pretty sure Parkey is the guy who double doinked it a while back.
-
Pretty sure he meant "the" Not sure what it means for Perryman.
-
I do, and there wasn't. The other guys who were available wouldn't have been any better than the guys we did bring in. If they want a higher quality kicker, they're either going to have to hope for a surprise cut or part with a draft pick (the latter being more likely).
-
Like who, exactly? Anybody who's any good already has a job.
-
Trading accuracy for mobility is a sh-tty deal.
-
Because the ones we signed weren't even good enough in practice.
-
So did we.
-
We had Lirim Hajrullahu around for part of the offseason too (he's now with the Cowboys) and give a tryout to Zane Gonzalez but didn't sign him. The narrative that we haven't looked at other kickers isn't too accurate.
-
Pineiro isn't the most reliable guy either, and I don't think he's got as much distance as Slye on his kickoffs. There may be other options. We could look at him I suppose, but there are reasons why he's bounced around the league.

Not bringing in competition for Darnold or Slye was a huge mistake

FYI for those who were interested in Josh Rosen, he's signing with the Falcons. And honestly, I can't think of a team that deserves him more -
We don't have one. We've run a few plays with TEs lined up in the fullback slot, but for now we don't have an actual fullback on roster.

I always love when fans say "Well, they didn't pick the guy I would have so they must have screwed something up and their first priority isn't winning." Yeah sure. I mean, smart, professional football people couldn't possibly have disagreed with your logic. Right? -
He kept repeating prior to the game that Darnold wasn't going to play despite Rhule saying he would. I'd guess he's trying to find a way to spin it so his pregame statements look less dim.

Gantt... Grier was better against the Ravens than Walker was against the Colts...
-
Still hanging on to those two goofy arguments, I see. I do agree Walker would be really helpful if we're prepping to face a team with a crappy quarterback.

His mental state is why this is a bad idea. Rosen thinks he's way better than he really is and acts like an entitled brat.

Ask me in about ten weeks or so. Rhule and Fitterer watched the film of Darnold's entire Jets career. Fitterer had already scouted him for the Seahawks and Rhule met with him when he was interviewing for the Jets job. They and the rest of their pro staff decided they were comfortable with him as their guy. Will they be proven right? Don't know, but I do know preseason freak outs are silly regardless. -
In the preseason...it's not.

It doesn't tell you anything of the sort. What it should tell you is that it's preseason.
