  1. I haven't heard much about who, other than Tepper, is taking part in the process. Dan Morgan perhaps on the coaching side, but that'd be pretty damn awkward for the GM interviews. If it's all being done by the search firm, I'm not sure how comfortable I am with that.
  2. That's been my impression but I won't claim to have read up all that much on him yet...
  3. The news a lot of folks have been waiting for...
  4. Not really...What I'm against is the idea that you can easily quantify football analysis...or the kids even necessary to do so. It's one thing to take a look at a tackle and judge his knee bend. That's scouting. Now if you were to take a caliper and physically measure one guy's knee bend versus another, then declare that the second guy is better because his is a degree and a half deeper, that's analytics Tools like that work a lot better in a more stat driven individual sport like baseball. In a more physical sport where teamwork, cohesion and chemistry play a larger role like football, not so much.
  5. The 2022 version of our offensive line was indeed one of the best we've had. That they got misused and broken down the following season isn't really their fault. And if it helps, in the future I'll try to explain this using smaller words.
  6. Evero wanti to move on wouldn't exactly surprise me.. Fair or not, it's kind of hard to imagine him having a very positive view of the Panthers organization after the experience of this past season
  7. Ditto the kind of response I typically expect on your part
  8. To be fair, you don't have a choice to block head coach interviews anymore.
  9. Tomlin isn't getting fired, no there's a lot of speculation in my step away and take some time off. Even if he does though, the Steelers still retain his rights under contract.
  10. I think the mistake with Campbell is that people see how intense he is and take him for a meathead. In reality, he's extremely smart.
  11. We're not talking about a successful organization that people are looking to poach from though.
  12. I'd agree. Tabor would also be a possibility but He seems at least somewhat comfortable staying aboard.
  13. Yep. Lots of teams in transition allow guys to seek employment elsewhere just out of courtesy because they realize the new coach will want their own staff. We're trying to interfere, even despite the problems that caused last time.
  14. Similar as with players, NFL contracts basically engender loyalty...but only on one side. Tepper is not allowing guys to interview elsewhere quite possibly in hopes that the new head coach will keep them, but if he doesn't then we screwed those guys out of an opportunity to get a job elsewhere. Dick move... I'd add that if I were making a guess, I'd say she's likely talking about Evero.
  15. More than one Panthers analyst has suggested that personnel is our biggest weakness, and yet we're ignoring established personnel people like Mike Borgonzi and Ray Agnew in favor of analytics guys. My theory on that is it's because Tepper understands and believes in analytics whereas actual personnel evaluation is way over his head. So ultimately It sounds like we're going to hire the person that David Tepper wants over the kind of guy we actually need
  16. From what I've read, the Eagles under Roseman are basically the Eagles under Lurie. Where I think Roseman's greatest strength has been is in hiring good coaches...minus the Chip Kelly thing which was probably more Lurie. Hell, Kelly damn near managed to force Roseman out. Yeah, I want to win too. A big part of that would be getting the right coaches in...and actually keeping them. That's where the Eagles culture fails.
  17. Is the answer to fixing that issue to be found in hiring an analytics guy though?
