Tepper is supposed to have a press conference at 345pm
Mr. Scot replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tepper stated that in the future he wants to have more of a balance between the head coach and the GM. Pretty clear he gets that giving Rhule full control was a mistake. -

Quote from near the end: "There are a lot of good areas of strength on this roster right now, and I think that they're better than they were a few years ago, but we have to put it together and...we have to get over the hump." Kinda doubt he's crediting Matt Rhule for that -

Didn't hear that at all... He did mention they can only use the resources that they had, and that they had the same resources as everyone else. When asked about the roster he was pretty positive, mentioning specifically that he thinks they have the best offensive line they've had in a while and that he didn't see a need for a full rebuild. When asked about Fitterer directly he said, "Scott is the GM" and left it at that. I didn't really get any sense that Fitterer, Morgan or anyone else on the front office side is in any danger. -

What I heard after rewinding... "Umm...look I think that there's some things (garbled) in the process in general, as far as consultants and such like that in that...in that search...but again it's premature to ask that question so..." Probably listened to that about 30 times or more but couldn't get a read on exactly what he was saying. -

I wasn't real clear what he said there. I'll have to go back and listen again. -

I'd say that's out of respect for Wilks. -
Way too many red flags...
-
If they're let go, that won't be the reason. That said, I wouldn't expect many of those guys to be retained by the next staff.
-
He's not really qualified for that job. (seems to be a theme under Rhule)

WFNZ and the Panthers YouTube channel are... -
I don't see anything special in any of those guys, honestly. There are guys who might be worth retaining from the current staff, but these guys aren't among them.
-
Not really a fan either but..

Cooper is more closely tied than Nixon. Of the rest, most followed from Baylor except Gilbride.
-
Not really. First off, Snow and Wilks have opposing philosophies when it comes to defense. More important though, why would Wilks tank when this goes on his resumé?
-
Remaining Rhule guys... - RB Coach / Assistant Head Coach (Offense) Jeff Nixon - Defensive Run Game Coordinator Mike Siravo - Cornerback Coach Evan Cooper - Pass Game Coordinator Matt Lombardi - Tight End Coach Kevin M Gilbride - Strength and Conditioning Coach Jeremy Scott - Strength and Conditioning Assistant Thomas Barbeau
-
Chargers could be a good spot for Shane Steichen. He's a West Coast guy and cut his teeth with the Chargers.
-
Dorsey has loads of Panther connections but most of them are pre-Tepper. One rather significant exception of course would be Assistant GM Dan Morgan.
-
Quinn has a connection with Fitterer from their days in Seattle. Oddly enough, Payton does too. They were both with the Giants at the end of the '90s.
-
Makes sense
-
Well, here's something I didn't realize... Sean Payton - QB Coach : New York Giants (1999) - Offensive Coordinator : New York Giants (2000) Scott Fitterer - Part Time Area Scout : New York Giants (1998-2000)
