"And then you get to see a fat guy dance." - John Madden
-
They posted a clip of the play...

Not hard to buy that the culture could be good. Doesn't mean we're gonna win games though. And the comments about three quarterbacks have been regarding the active roster. They're not counting practice squad when they say that.
-
Already lost Jensen, and now they're down his backup? They're gonna be hurting at center. Maybe we should offer to trade Elflein
-
I like a lot of what he's done, but I acknowledge that Fitterer's grade as a GM is still incomplete. Do I trust him more than Matt Rhule though? Yeah.
-
Pretty sure I've seen it in prior depth charts, but at those times it may have been legitimate competition. Elflein vs Bozeman is kinda hard to see is legitimate. Again, the issue comes down to trust.
-
Nah. It's about trust. Scott Fitterer could say something I really didn't want to hear and I'd probably believe him. Matt Rhule could say something I absolutely want to hear and I'd just as likely call bullsh-t. Not everything Matt Rhule says is stupid, but given his poor performance as a head coach over the last two seasons, when he does say dumb sh-t, it gets magnified.
-
This is a valid point. I would acknowledge at the same time that there likely is roster improvement from last year to this year at least in some areas, offense for sure. Defense? Less certain, but that's where we've spent most of our time building previously.

Thanks

Some mic'd up moments from camp... If you've attended camp before, Mayfield's comment about being "one with the humidity" is very easy to understand
-
Apparently Jay Glazer was at camp today...

Hard to say. They've tinkered with the PS rules so much over the last few years it's gotten way more complicated than it used to be. I would expect Walker to likely fit as a veteran exception, but I haven't looked over what the rules are for this season.
-
Granted, it probably would help if Rhule didn't say stupid sh-t like "the process is working, you just can't see it"
-
People get worked up not because of specific statements, but because they don't trust Matt Rhule. And frankly, what reason has he given anybody to trust him? Complain all you want about people's attitudes, but until the team actually shows that it can be something other than mediocre garbage under his coaching, there's no reason to see it any differently. I mean hell, do you want people to stay positive about Sam Darnold too?
-
I'm trying to remember anything indicating that Sam was "fighting back". Pretty much all the coverage has been in sync with the idea that Mayfield is clearly superior.
-
I took that statement with a grain of this... Everybody knows how it's going. Keeping up the charade just looks goofy.

Everybody else seems to know...

Honestly, this is why a lot of lower round and undrafted guys don't have long careers. Oftentimes they have the ability, just not the durability.
-
Practice squad maybe... Kinda hard to imagine Rhule completely letting him go.

New offensive weapon?

Coming from David Newton? Probably not much. There are certainly writers whose analytical comments I take seriously, but David Newton isn't one of them.
