Does that mean you're also willing to say Darnold wasn't as bad as he looked?
-
Does that paragraph describe a head coach you would want running your team?
-
A week later he looked horrible. In the weeks that followed, he looked mostly average.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me at all. Fitterer wants to build a successful team. Rhule wants to save his own ass.

"Inheriting the #1 pick" happens because your team is the worst in the NFL. That means Rivera built up from the worst team in the league to a Super Bowl team (once Marty was gone, of course). And as far as those draft picks that were traded away, Rhule had final say on those transactions. Guessing you don't realize it, but your post actually makes Rhule look worse.

As far as the topic...
-
Fixed.

Being asked to play the Taysom Hill role is cool if it's for a potential playoff team. For a rebuilding team that's just hoping to get to 500 to save the coach's ass? Not so much

I don't get the impression that Cam wants to play for Rhule. I also don't get the impression Rhule wants to coach Cam again. (Fitterer might want him, but Rhule not so much)

As to Newton, over the past few seasons, fans have spent a lot of effort on two things: 1) Finding a scenario that gives Newton and the Panthers a fairytale ending, and... 2) Hoping for the team to find Newton 2.0 in the Draft If I'm being brutally honest right now, I wouldn't put good odds on either of those things happening.

Neither, actually. Was okay with Rhule in year one but it only took till about midseason of year two to confirm he was in over his head. Tepper? Was ambivalent early on, waiting to see if he's be good or not. Then he kept Marty too long and followed that up by giving a mid-tier college coach full power.
-
Pretty sure Rhule would take Mayfield or Garoppolo before Newton.
-
Damn. That didn't last long
-
He did say he can play center, but it might have had more to do with there only being four linemen present.
-
Not when it comes to football. "Dunce" is more appropriate in that area.
-
Why would we need him?

Speaking of quarterback...
