  1. If we had Svech right now we'd be destroying. Not having him muscle net front is a huge miss. But alas, we still look like the better team right now. Just gotta net one.
  2. So some takes. 1) Raanta looks pretty sharp given the time missed. Little shaky early but the one he allowed was an absolute beauty of a move. 2) Turbo doesn't look like he can keep up with the rest of our guys. Like a really bad wheel on a fast as fug car. 3) Bob is that fuging dude. Lesser goalie, we're up 4-1 right now. 4) We have to just keep plugging. Goals will come. Don't get panicky.
  3. I am going to put it to people this way regarding Bobrovsky. I'm a goalie guy. I love good goalies. I am decently well-informed guy who came into the game as a teen and didn't touch ice with a stick until my mid twenties. Bobrovsky is nothing less than elite. By the third period tonight, I'll expect for some "ok his blocker is really goddamn good" posts in here because the disrespect of Bob is just blowing my mind. Butterfly goalies drop. By design, this opens the shelf. It's a style of play to force you to go high, where they can then focus as their pads eliminate the lower portion of the net. Much in the way a defensemen takes away the pass on odd man rushes so the goalie can focus on the shot. It's way harder to get precise lift than to keep it low and hard. Hence why so many shots sail over the net or hit the crossbar.
  4. I think Brindy makes that call by dinner. If Freddie is good to go and says he feels great, no issues, he's the hot hand. If there's any doubt, you go to Raanta and give him until Monday. Absolutely not skating is the call though. Save the legs. I'm sure they probably met up and went over poo dry which is fine given how game 1 went.
  5. Corral is trying to earn qb3. We don't necessarily NEED QB3. He needs to focus there. He's definitely not beating Dalton out of a spot, and he's never been on Young's level. tough sledding.
  6. Easy to say, hard to do. He has great control over his glove and blocker and displayed that a ton last night. You beat Bob with cross crease passing, deflections and rebound opportunities when he's scrambling. Make the extra pass and get to the dirty areas. Only way you're gonna consistently score. Tomorrow night is essentially for the series btw. If we can't get by them at home, we MIGHT steal one on the road but then winning the rest of the way is certainly a prayer.
  7. Come on boys. Win this for the dads who fell asleep in the 2nd OT period and are gonna wake up after it's over, check their phone and ease into bed so as not to hear about it from the wife.
  8. Alright, who is a believer in this game going to a 5th OT and Gretzky leaving before it cuts back for intermission?
  9. Freddie looks fuging locked in though. Gonna have to be because I'm thoroughly convinced Bob isn't even human at this point
  10. This could either spur one of these teams to win a cup or it could curse one of these teams to go out in 4 in the final.
  11. Anybody else get the feeling no matter who wins this one, every player on the ice is gonna be like "thank fug that's over"?
  12. I work rotating 12s so I'm off all weekend. But I did just work 26 of the last 48 hours and only got about 4 hours of sleep each night so I'm fuging struggling.
  13. This will be the final OT. Sloppy play increasing, legs starting to burn, guys getting winded after average length shifts. Turbo is netting the winner and it'll be early here. Calling it.
  14. The fact that so many Americans can't appreciate this level of precise defense in hockey is astounding to me. This game has us all on pins and needles, and meanwhile I know people who would 100% call this boring.
  15. Likely didn't realize the goal was waved off. It is Yahoo afterall
  16. We've gotta wheel more neutral zone. They're trapping it now. Skate it up, the chip game is getting swallowed.
  17. So we've got to keep our composure. We get to scrambling at pucks wayyyyy too much
  18. The announcers in these playoffs really, really want us to lose every fuging game lol. That's such an obvious fuging interference call and yet the announcers are acting like it's probably not
  19. So to say "he is him" is a meme that originated from a guy talking about somebody being good/unique or some other and basically saying "you are you, but he is him". It's a weird thing that caught on and stuck. I'm in my 30s, I'm officially generally out of the loop most of the time
  20. It's not that Jaycee is overly fragile. Some guys are just unlucky as poo. Think Thomas Davis. His knees just kept taking blows, his ribs kept getting bruised and broken, forearm fracture, etc. How many LBs get those injuries at some point? A ton. Some only one or two of those, others may have 5 injuries varying in severity over a 10 year career. How many have THAT many consecutively their first 5 or so years in the league? Very few. Just bad luck.
  21. Bennett is gonna meet Noesen at some point this series and that's gonna be a fun fight.
