  1. Well our injury problems are worse because there aren't but a few teams that can even come close to how bad our roster is. So when you pile on massive lack of talent WITH lack of availability, sadly a lot of it in the ranks of our actually talented players, it exacerbates the problem exponentially. The lack of pads today is really more about load management than anything, I am sure. I highly doubt that is a departure from our normal routine, although I could be wrong.
  2. Gettleman believed in hog mollies for sure but he is often remembered for his massive failures in that realm than his successes. He was never truly able to put together a line as solid as this, IMO. He got close on more than one occasion but there always seemed to be some crippling hole he couldn't fill.
  3. Interestingly, that is quite literally something neither of us could afford. They would be toting ~$100 mil in dead cap and we would be eating two seasons of $46 mil base salary. Sadly, although we are quite terrible we don't have a sound enough cap situation yet to where we can assist with salary dumping. We only have ~$42 mil in cap space for 2025 with a considerable amount of signings needing to be made to get to 53 active.
  4. The 3-4 can be very effective and has been used for elite defenses for a long time. Has little to do with the base defense and everything to do with the derth of talent to run the scheme. Switch to a 4-3 tomorrow and we will still suck as badly as we do now.
  5. Interestingly the overwhelming #1 guy in penalties so far is perennial Pro Bowler Laremy Tunsil with 11. Also Ikey is technically in a 7 way tie for 6th place in penalties.
  6. Lol. I mean in theory we did with Bryce. We traded out of the #1 overall pick. Truthfully, I am just saying we don't win in those trade down scenarios in general. Especially in the Tepper era. But I guess we rarely win in the trade up scenarios either. Which, I guess we also don't win often when we don't move at all. You know, I guess we just suck at all of this. I changed my mind. fug it. Trade up, trade down, stay....it's probably not gonna matter.
  7. Oh there were definitely smarter and more financially responsible ways to get it done. But, it is what it is. One small win in a vast ocean of horseshif personnel moves over the last few years. I generally do think Morgan will fare far better at pro personnel decisions than college evals.
  8. Oh I never said he wasn't a capable college coach but he was always a wild asshole.
  9. Well he did sign two of our best players on that line. It's hard to not give him any credit for that. They didn't magically materialize on the roster.
  10. Apparently Tyler Nubin has played quite well for the Giants too.
  11. No, I am glad we did it in this case but it shouldn't have come to this. The league is littered with starting caliber OG's taken in the 3rd or lower rounds. It's inexcusable that we haven't been finding them.
  12. I always found it funny that Saban was lionized when he was clearly such a raging asshole. Then you find out this MFer claims he quit because of the NIL. He epitomizes the plantation mentality of old school college football. The kids exist to serve his whims and enrich him personally.
  13. Especially with the move to 17 and 18 games without a roster expansion(how the fug did the union fold on that???) It's literally just surviving the season for just about everyone.
  14. Well, you have to draft well to get cheap, reliable IOL. Luckily there was no recent instances where we passed on that kind of player.
  15. I am generally not a fan of pointlessly trading down and I am definitely not a fan of trading out of the top 5 unless it is a HAUL. We very, very, very rarely win in those trade down scenarios. More often than not we lose. I would say just get a talented player with that top 5 pick. If some Panthers-esque team comes along and wants to send us an elite young player and a pile of picks, that is a different scenario.
  16. Well he did let Rhule hire Fitterer and his entire Baylor college staff.
  17. I will say this about Brooks. Let's not annihilate the kid on 2024 play when he does finally recover. He honestly should be generally expected to struggle given the situation. Now 2025? Bruh......you better be looking like Tomlinson.
  18. I am not saying extend him now. I am saying we should have that discussion on the likelihood of an extension even being possible in the offseason because Johnson might be a guy that is a candidate to be moved before the trade deadline. That's the sole purpose of a discussion like that, to determine if there is even a future for him here at all.
  19. That's the thing. You can get some serviceable and even starting caliber OL in the 3rd to 7th rounds. You don't have to reach on "your guys." Just make a good board and play it. Find guys that fit your scheme and coach them up as backups. In a 17 and soon to be 18 game season, you better have some OL depth.
  20. Yeah, I mean I get the "old school" thought process here but we are in purely surviving until we can even get to a game mode. I think we have, what, 19 of the 53 out injured for this game?
  21. Gettleman tried but failed miserably. Never forget Kalil 2.0.
  22. But remember it isn't like we had any other options. You know, other than the 5th leading rusher in the NFL currently.
  23. OL depth has been an issue for about 15-20 years. We should be taking at least one every draft in some capacity.
