  1. TBH, I would lean more heavily to Jon Gruden for the specific reason that he would be the most likely to have the experience and track record to push back on ownership. To be clear, I don't think he would be super successful here but this franchise needs to start with someone that actually has an NFL track record of success and can show others in the organization what it looks like to prepare that way. If we can at least attempt to model ourselves after an NFL franchise even at all, that would be a valid starting point to any sort of turnaround.
  2. This is ignoring the parade of bust WR's the Panthers have had over the past 20 years. If you can point out the examples of these WR's going elsewhere and getting better than before here, by all means, please show them to us. More likely than not, you are going to see more Philly Brown's, Brenton Bersin's and the like that never had any appreciable NFL career post-Panthers. Hence why I continually point out our issues is far less the development than the evaluation of players.
  3. The people talking about how good XL will look in some other offense or with some other QB, just remember this is the same horseshit we have heard for Mingo, TMJ, Funchess, Colbert, etc, etc, etc. Just realize you are gonna seem just as foolish as all these other times when this guy is a resounding bust.
  4. Yeah and I think for both the loudest saber rattlers were casual or non-NFL fans. Especially Kaepernick. The people who hated him the most didn't watch a lick of NFL football. At least hate him for the valid reasons of him being a mediocre QB on his absolute best day. Panthers fans have a whole different reason to have hated him, when he mocked Cam.
  5. The Golden Calf of Bristol's. Those guys were completely nuts
  6. That's just being wantonly myopic in the approach. I don't care as much about measurables or RAS or whatever as I do actual football abilities. If the athletic profile is excellent, even better. Mind you, the players need to be physically capable of playing the game. Rudy wasn't an NFL movie.
  7. Nah, I can't just dismiss based on "needs to meet X measurables." I wouldn't want to do that per se.
  8. I remember the times of how the Huddle bitched about not drafting enough athletes. Then we switched to purely athletes with no abilities. Oh how the turns have tabled.
  9. I think you are missing the point. All these guys had elite attributes. Arm strength, accuracy, athleticism, etc. Those were things Bryce didn't truly have. So, look AT THE BARE MINIMUM for that as a starting point.
  10. Well Brees, Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray don't particularly look like NFL QB's but they all at least had elite attributes. How about start there?
  11. It closes yet another chapter of Panthers bumbling.
  12. Because he has the confidence of a complete and utter moron.
  13. Do you get a SB ring working the stadium beer stand?
  14. I bet that original draft thread is a HYSTERICAL read.
  15. Several more drafts if we start drafting competently in 2026. If we keep on the current course, there is no real end to this in sight. The biggest danger is not figuring it out consistently, always remaining in the bottom 5 in roster quality and then your minimal core assets start aging out or going elsewhere. TBH, I think we will have a winning season around the early 2030's but it's not guaranteed. I shudder to think that perhaps we are merely halfway through the true suck. That fear is always at the back of my mind.
  16. I mean, the entire franchise got razed to the ground during the Rhule era. It didn't get better since.
  17. Yeah, if we can get a QB, HC, DC, FO, most of a defense, almost all depth, probably a kicker and a competent owner....we are probably right there
  18. We always downgrade at K. It's a Panthers tradition.
  19. Who was if simping for Browning? This dude sucks.
  20. Tyrod is a significantly better QB than Fields.
  21. TBH, not sure we are gonna get anywhere near that when we unload him.
  22. I would imagine Bryce is a guy that does well behind the scenes, possibly impresses in film study, etc. XL on the other hand....I am gonna guess he doesn't impress basically anywhere.
  23. I am pretty unimpressed by the 2025 draft holdovers. Beck, Allar, Nussmeier, etc. So far it looks heavy with Day 2 and 3 QB's early. Time will tell. I am less concerned about the QB at the moment. The team is too bad. This team needs talent and playing ability. Not ceiling, not RAS BS. Players that can become core guys. IDGAF if that is a QB or not. Just get players.
  24. I still think we will do the exact same thing as we keep doing, as well. We will can the coach first, hire a new one, then can the GM and hire another with a inherited HC.
