  1. One should never say never but I cannot see the Panthers trading away the valuable #1 overall 2023 NFL Draft Pick. The #1 draft Pick gives new head coach Frank Reich the ability to go get whoever he sees as the best player. It appears very apparent the Panthers are going to draft a QB with this selection and this year's draft class features four QB's expected to get drafted high. Keeping the # 1 Overall Pick allows the Panthers to pick their top choice and they seem to be really interested in Alabama's Bryce Young and Ohio State's C.J. Stroud, with lots of expects saying they have already decided on drafting Young. The Panthers haven't had stability at the position since Cam Newton left, so if they are locked onto a certain QB ,I cannot see them doing some kind of trade that would hurt their chance of obtaining him..
  2. Quarterbacking as a rookie in the NFL is so hard that most first-year guys don’t even get a chance to try it, so talking about making a Pro Bowl is somewhat premature in my opinion. The Panthers # 1 QB draft choice will probably be the the day one starter, unlike most rookie QB's that sit out a year before they try their hand. So my expectation level will be for him to just play solid, winning football, learn all he can while adjusting to the speed of the NFL game and let the accolades come when he earns them.
  3. I am picking the Cardinals to get the 1st draft pick followed closely by Tampa Bay getting the # 2 draft pick.
  4. 2023 NFL Mock Draft - Charlie Campbell WalterFootBall.Com Senior Draft Analyst Last update: Monday, April 17, Most Correct Mock Picks in Major NFL Draft Media: 2014 and 2017. 2nd in 2021 Led all NFL media in correct picks for the 2017, 2019, and 2022 NFL Draft2nd Place in all NFL media with correct picks for 2021 # 1 Draft Choice NFL Team Logo for Panthers Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young, QB, Alabama Carolina is desperate for a quarterback and gave up a ton to acquire the first pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. Here at No. 1, I could see the Panthers debating whether to take C.J. Stroud because his pocket passing could be a positive to Frank Reich - given his work with Matt Ryan, Carson Wentz and Philip Rivers in Indianapolis -, but Young is probably the favorite of ownership and the front office. Some team people say they think Carolina wants Young, although others think the franchise wants Stroud. With the final rounds of draft meetings and visits coming up, the Panthers have a few more weeks to build a consensus on who they want to work with as their future franchise quarterback. Right now, I am leaning toward Young, but my choice could definitely change. Young is a true assassin on the football field capable of taking over games and carrying his team to wins. He is a very accurate passer, showing superb placement, a fantastic ability to throw into tight windows, and excellent feel. Games look slowly paced for Young, whose natural instincts are off the charts. He is also a dangerous runner who offers superb escapability and is extremely dangerous to make plays off schedule. The only knock on Young ( A little over 5-10, 204 Lb. ) is his size, but he was durable overall in his two years as a starter in the SEC. In 2022, Young completed 65 percent of his passes for 3,328 yards, 32 touchdowns and five interceptions. He picked up four touchdowns on the ground as well. Young took over as Alabama's starting quarterback in 2021, and there was a lot of hype about him in the scouting community. Some NFL sources believe Young's skill set and style of play are similar to those of Kyler Murray. In 2021, Young completed 67 percent of his passes for 4,872 yards, 47 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
  5. The way the United States is shaping up and the direction it looks like it's heading ,these countries are beggining to look better and better. LOL
  6. Cheer up. He could be right on this one because even a blind squirrel will eventually find an acorn. LOL
  7. That pretty much sums up my feeling as well. The Panthers have some fine coaches that are very capable of evaluating QB's, so whoever they chose I will applaud and gladly support. I think both QB's will excel in the NFL and Bryce Young will prove his size doesn't matter and prove his doubters, which I once was, wrong.
  8. I had though up until a week or so ago the Panthers were leaning toward Ohio States C.J. Stroud but events that are happening and things being said now, lead me to believe more and more they are securely locked in on Alabama's Bryce Young. I have stated previously that both QB"s are very talented, just in different ways and the team that gets either one will be very fortunate to have gotten them.
  9. (" According to McKinney, Harriman Police told him that officers clocked MeeMoo’s speed at 40 mph. ") Now that is some fast bird. LOL
  10. I don't think that Bryce Young's size will turn out to be a concern. Plus, the 5-foot-10, 204-pound Young is the most natural distributor of the class. His combination of poise, touch and improvisational skills gives off those point guard vibes scouts makes note of, and is something new Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown has even specifically mentioned.
  11. That statement by a person named " adrian" , shows there are some people with issues running loose out there.
  12. Sounds like he threw Shinyashiki and Santos under the bus. Not a real good thing to do, in my opinion.
  13. My guess is that Hornets Forward Miles Bridges will soon be history in Charlotte.
  14. FROM A RECENT ESPN ARTICLE: Given the absurdity of quarterback contracts, which have risen every single year over the past decade or so, the league is reportedly starting to wonder if it makes sense to have a separate NFL salary cap just for the most important position on the field. That’s according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who detailed what he’s hearing from sources as the league begins conversations about a new CBA. This is a pretty genius idea from the league. However Fowler points out, it will be difficult to get done because of the complexities of the NFL salary cap, which is already difficult to understand and for teams to maneuver. But, given the emphasis on having a franchise quarterback, giving teams more money to spend on that specific position is at least worth discussing. Let’s face it, every single team has to make difficult decisions each offseason based off of the salary cap number at the time. We’ve seen future Hall of Famers at numerous positions be cut to save money to sign a quarterback, like Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas in Seattle in order to allocate more cash to Russell Wilson. While this has always been part of the league, it’s smart that the NFL is at least analyzing what a separate salary cap for just passers would look like. Who knows if it actually comes to fruition or not, though.
  15. There is no doubting that our defense needs to be improved a lot.
  16. Talking heads are just doing what they do best and that's talk. Now, let's go out and prove them wrong.
  17. I agree with you 100%. At first I was all aboard on the Panthers drafting Ohio State's C. J. Stroud because of his size but after doing a lot of research I determined that Alabama's Bryce Young is at least his equal. Both QB's have outstanding but different elite talents that I feel balance out, so it will probably come down to the system the Panthers want to install long term to determine which QB they select. No matter which outstanding QB the Panthers select I feel it will be a win-win for them and the fans.
  18. Todd McShay, NFL draft analyst: . I've heard some buzz that Carolina likes Young at No. 1, but like I said Wednesday, the Panthers are going to put out a lot of smokescreens to keep the competition off the scent. And frankly, they are likely far from a final decision on who they want with the top draft pick. I know this: Carolina is blessed to have a really tough decision on its hands, because there are some really good quarterbacks atop this class.
  19. Mike Tannenbaum, NFL front office insider: After trading up to No. 1, I'd be going all-in on Young. It was a tough call for me, and I just narrowly picked him over Stroud. But while Young's 5-foot-10, 204-pound size is a concern, his talent is unquestionable. He's the guy I'd lean on to turn the passing game around in Carolina. Read more: Tannenbaum's 2023 NFL mock draft .
  20. Newton: Levis and Richardson still are being evaluated, so they're still technically in the running, but according to sources with knowledge of the search, the Panthers' choice is between Stroud and Young. The biggest difference between the two is size, which took up a considerable amount of coach Frank Reich's time at Tuesday's annual media breakfast at the owners meetings. Young is 5-foot-10 and 204 pounds. Stroud is 6-3, 214. Reich made it clearer than he has at any point during the process that this is more about durability than height, and that durability is a concern with Young due to his stature, though he missed only one game at Alabama.
