If you want to get the #1 pick from the Bears, what's your move?
KatsAzz replied to EgoDogg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think that either Young or Stroud, who both come with some questions, would be worth giving up that much. -

If I wanted to sink the team by giving up what it would take to obtain the Bears # 1 Draft Pick, I would lock myself in my office until I became rational and talked myself out of it. -
Bidwill wouldn't be contemplating a change and do homework on other candidates if there wasn't a serious thought to canning Kingsbury.

Road to coach the Metro at the All Star Game
KatsAzz replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Congratulations Coach! -
A good example is the Panthers getting the best Left Tackle in the 2022 draft, when it seemed they wouldn't.

Retain Wilks as HC. Get the best OC available. Sign Darnold to a cheap two year contract. Start Corral at QB if he's ready. If not start Darnold until he is. QB's Corral, Darnold and one that is drafted in 2nd or 3rd rd. Take best player available at # 9 in the draft. Restructure contracts to free up money. Resign Bozeman, Foreman, Burns to team friendly contracts.. Resod the football field with real grass Win the NFC South Division with a 9-8 record.

I feel Ron will have to have at least a 9-8 record next year if he hopes to retain his job.

Not being able to go to the games and cheer for them in person like you use to do must really be a bummer.

Svech needs to tighten up!

M Kaye Observer HC candidates pros and cons
KatsAzz replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Young coordinators like Steichen can sometimes be miscast as Head Coaches. There’s always a risk that a hotshot Coordinator like him is a better fit for the play-calling job instead of the Head Coach position. -
We can certainly hope so.

M Kaye Observer HC candidates pros and cons

The Panthers defense was their strong suit this season. The stats don't necessarily reflect it, but a struggling offense often times forced them to be on the field a great deal longer than one would expect with an even middling offense. -

Reich is seen as one of the better offensive minds in the NFL. The Colts ranked in the top 10 in scoring in three of his first four seasons in Indianapolis. The unit also ranked in the top of the league in yardage during three of those four seasons as well. While Reich had a turnstile at quarterback during his tenure, his offenses — until this past season — functioned at a relatively high level. -

Since the lack of division success is a signal that Reich is better fit for a coordinator job than a head coaching position. A Wilks (head coach)-Reich (offensive coordinator) pairing could be appealing to Tepper and a combination I would like to see joined together.. -
Man, wrong to think it would be competive!!!
-
The game was over last night before it began. There is no way i could watch that blowout of a game to the end.
-
Yes, it is a little much!!!

I have it on now. Should be a good game.

So which QB do we think will be available at #9?
KatsAzz replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Fields is a thrilling playmaker, but he can’t do it consistently enough to be one of the most productive quarterbacks in the NFL, and that would not get the Panthers where they want to go. -
After talking to Harbaugh the other day, It sounds like Tepper didn't like what he would demand to be the Panthers Head Coach.
-
Exactly. Some fans just don't get it. Sure it would be better for certain teams to lose games but try telling that to the coaches and players that have their present and future jobs on the line, I don't think you will find that any of them would agree to the losing games concept.
-
I give Wilks credit for doing a good, job considering what he inherited from the Rhule administration but I am afraid the loss to the Bucs that would have won the division probably did him in.
-
So true!!!!!!
-
I would take him or Harbaugh if either wants to come to Carolina. A win-win sceniro.

" The prayers have not stopped since Hamlin collapsed on the field Monday, and they will continue in the hopes that Hamlin will be able not only to lead a normal life again but to lead one that could potentially lead him back to football if he chooses." " But even if he never plays another down, there is no denying what he means to McKees Rocks and Pittsburgh and now Buffalo and to every life he has touched along the way."
