  1. That is my exact feeling. For the life of me i cannot see where purging the team of some of the best high profile players, plus giving up lots of future high draft picks that will be needed for continued success, all for one high salary player that would wreck the salary cap,no matter how good he is.
  2. Hmmm!!! Thinking outside te box, that is why it probably will happen.
  3. Great to see the Panthers re-sign WR Brandon Zylstra, even if it is only to a one-year contract. WR Brandon Zylstra, new signing WR Rashard Higgins and WR Terrace Marshall should battle it out in training camp to see who gets the most playing time in 2022.
  4. I may be one of the few Panther fans not on board with the obtaining Watson at all costs deal. While I agree Watson is a game changing QB, he would only be one player on a Panthers team that would presently lose some good players and gave up important draft choices, both important for continued team success.
  5. You are 100% correct. To have a irrational owner and a desperate head coach is a sure recipe for disaster.
  6. Just like all the other wild deals that have backfired on Panthers since Tepper became owner and Rhule became head coach.
  7. I have the same feeling after reading what Cleveland has to offer. In my opinion it would be a blessing if that happened. I just do not think weakening a team by gutting it of several elite players and giving up a lot of draft choices is the way to assure long term success.
  8. SEAN CHANDLER SAFETY HEIGHT 5' 10 1/2" WEIGHT 205 lbs ARMS 30 3/4" HANDS 8 1/4" NFL Combine Results 40 Yard Dash 4.65 Bench Press 16 Vertical Jump 34.5 Broad Jump 119 3 Cone Drill 20 Yd Shuttle 4.62 60 Yd Shuttle Player Bio Overview It is hard to bet against Chandler considering his toughness, resilience and four years of production. While he does have corner and safety experience, he may lack the instincts and range to make plays from a high safety spot. He's more than tough enough to handle run support duties as a classic strong safety, but he's not as big as teams will like. Chandler has some special teams value and a load of intangibles. He's a good, but limited safety who could become a solid backup. Strengths Cornerback experience shows when guarding slot Always plays under control Covers kicks and can return punts Weaknesses Stocky build is on the borderline for size at the position Struggles to disengage from big blocking receivers and tight ends Can be bowled over by runners if pads are too high at impact Short strider with average field speed Below average getting over the top in single-high or two-deep Needs better reaction speed to close on throws in his neighborhood Has slight hitch before his plant to drive Lax in getting to deep responsibilities and ends up guarding space Doesn't shade according to quarterback's eyes Baited near end zone rather than playing with vision and instincts in coverage
  9. You are probably 100% correct in you assumption.
  10. Exactly. Watson is presently a disgruntled Quarterback forcing his way out of Houston and history often has a way of repeating itself. I wish I had more confidence in the Panthers brain trust to make sound decisions but going by all their past mistakes, for the life of me i cannot.
  11. Tom Bradys massive ego couldn't handle being out of the spotlight. It's why he announced his retirement during Super Bowl week - to get the spotlight on him and not on the teams actually playing and now he realized that people weren't talking about him enough. Sad.
  12. Exactly. I am concerned that Rhule will draft Pickett and make him the starting day QB,hoping it will save his sinking ship. I could be wrong but i cannot help feeling that Willis, given time, will be the best long term QB to come out of the 2022 NFL Draft.
  13. I would love to see the Panthers draft Liberty QB Malik Willis and let him sit behind Darnold for a year refining his obvious skillset, while adjusting to the NFL style of play. This would be a big step in building the Panthers foundation for long term success by securing the starting QB position . However, it would require temporary patience, something the Panthers seem to presently lack.
  14. Exactly. Gutting the team for Watson would have been a great mistake in my opinion. It would take a lot more than a Watson QB upgrade to make the Panthers a great team, considering what they would have to give up to obtain him.
  15. That is very sad. R.I.P. Joseph Lemmons aka u/Joslemmons.
  16. If the Panthers surrender at least three first-round picks, another draft pick, a young player or two and include Jeremy Chinn, Brian Burns, Derrick Brown, and/or Jaycee Horn, in my opinion it would cripple the team so bad it would take years for them to recover.
  17. The NFL and Colin Kaepernick has probably already passed the point of no return. And giving him a route back into the league could be portrayed as an empty gesture with very little substance.
  18. Exactly. If we gut the team to obtain Watson, we would have a worse team than the one he complained about playing on because it was so sorry.
  19. Like i stated on a previous thread, a dumb move in my would be selling the farm for QB Deshaun Watson. Taking this big of a a risk and giving up significant draft capital is simply not an option no matter how talented Watson is on the field. There are now serious doubts about Watson’s character that simply wasn’t there before. The magnitude of these allegations dictate such perceptions and many would not welcome him like they were willing to with open arms around this time last year.

  21. Among the players we know reportedly heading to Seattle: backup QB Drew Lock. According to Pelissero, he was informed Tuesday afternoon that he was part of the Wilson trade, as was defensive end Shelby Harris and tight end Noah Fant. As far as the draft picks, quite a few are reportedly headed to Seattle: Two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a fifth-round pick, while a fourth-round pick is headed to Denver with Wilson.
  22. The Panthers have a lot to figure out this offseason, particularly at the quarterback position. Darnold's 5th-year option was picked up for $18 million prior to the start of the 2021 season meaning he will be under contract through next season. I don't see there being much trade value for him and even if the Panthers do find a trade partner, they will have to pay a large amount of what is owed to him and get very little in return. With that said, it makes the most sense to just place the focus on rebuilding the offensive line and gut out one more season with Darnold at the helm. If he doesn't improve behind a better line, than you can move on from him after next season and not owe him a dime.
  23. The NFL rule betting on Football: All NFL Personnel are prohibited from placing, soliciting, or facilitating any bet, whether directly or indirectly through a third-party, on any NFL game, practice or other event. If the NFL want to assure the rule is enforced they have to have a severe penalty for its violation and that is exactly what they did in Calvin Ridleys case. ("Falcons' Ridley banned for season and forfeits $11m salary after betting on NFL games. The NFL has banned Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley for the entire 2022 season – and possibly longer – for betting on games. The suspension means he will forfeit his $11.1m salary for 2022.")

Cox/Getty Images Bet Now! Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley has been suspended for at least the 2022 season after betting on NFL games, per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. The alleged activity took place during a five-day period in November 2021 while Ridley was away from the team and on the non-football illness list. He stepped away to deal with mental health issues. This suspension will cause Ridley’s contract to toll for the 2022 season, putting him under contract until the 2023 season with the Falcons. Ridley is eligible to apply for reinstatement on Feb 15, 2023, and can appeal the suspension within three days. The NFL’s press release, seen below, states that Ridley had no inside information or involved any “coaches, staff’ teammates or other players in his betting activity.”
