  1. I was waiting to finally see this. Bojangles got acquired by a private equity firm a few years ago and their CEO recently said something about "wanting to get out of the chicken business" and "into the experience business". I had read an article somewhere that they were going to start opening restaurants without bone-in chicken. So there we go. It's so stupid. Bojangles had a simple formula: you go into some dingy dimly lit restaurant with wood paneling everywhere and you sit at a rickety table and eat greasy fried chicken and biscuits and drink sweet tea and then you go home and irradiate your toilet. I guess there aren't enough business press buzzwords that can be affixed to that so somebody had to go fug it up.
  2. After Matt Rhule I would have taken him in Carolina in a second. I guarantee his acting like a dick running up the score on a beaten opponent with his Zoolander facial expression pacing the sidelines would have been a lot more charming if he was wearing process blue while doing it. That said, in the real world, yeah fug sending multiple high picks to the Saints for him. I'm much happier with where the chips fell for the Panthers.
  3. They should have stuck with Washington Football Team. That was a unique name in the NFL and is something they could have built on.
  4. I just referenced Bradford because iirc he signed the richest rookie deal in league history. I think that was the last year before the rookie wage scale.
  5. The version of "Bleed The Freak" from this is one of my favorite AiC tracks
  6. The rookie wage scale and fifth year option is one of the few recent developments in the NFL that is actually pretty good and makes the game better imo. High picks get their guaranteed money while the teams that drafted them aren't hamstrung with Sam Bradford type rookie deals.
  7. Bojangles was acquired by private equity a few years ago. I think their dumbass CEO was quoted recently that he wanted to "get out of the chicken business" and "into the experience business". imo Bojangles hasn't been good since they had ashtrays on every table
  8. He went to Canada and had himself a pretty decent career in the CFL. Looks like he was on a roster as recently as 2021, not bad.
  9. The Nebraska fans are going to rip him to shreds if he fails there, as others have pointed out. Overall we have a fairly nascent franchise and our fanbase tends to be fairweather. I'm not surprised some jerks fuged with him or, even worse, his family, but I mean poo probably half the city just shrugged their shoulders at the Panthers sucking and put their Patriots/Giants/Packers/Cowboys beanies on and went about their lives. Now the Huskers, on the other hand, are a fallen blue chip with hardcore fans. They're a program whose history is dotted with undefeated seasons, national titles, and conference championships. In the year 2023, they've had one winning season in eight years. They've been sold Rhule as the man who is going to return them to glory, and from what I've read from the most reliable places imaginable (Twitter, random message boards, Reddit) they're buying it. Good luck Matt.
  10. Meatball Matt, some people are calling him that. Not me, but some people.
  11. "I don't know how it happened, it didn't look like there was much fish there but he just kept handing them out until everybody had some"
  12. Because Jim Irsay would be getting kicked out of a Dave and Busters right now if it wasn't for having a rich dad
  13. Ric Flair Field at Dale Earnhardt Memorial Stadium
  14. One thing I wonder about is, whether acting like a little naysaying bitch on the internet ever gets old for some people. Clearly for him it doesn't. On topic though, Cam Peoples. Next question.
  15. Pilares had that one touchdown on a weird broken play against the Falcons. That's all I remember about him.
  16. It happens. One catch against Michigan got App State's Dexter Jackson drafted in the 2nd round once upon a time.
  17. Yeah he's an odd one. I kind of enjoy reading wild rants from somebody who's clearly on their own wavelength though.
  18. It can definitely make a difference. God help me even Byron Bell looked like a borderline NFL player when Andrew Norwell finally got a few starts next to him in 2014.
  19. And have a stan or two on this forum insisting that we could sign him off the street right now and he'd singlehandedly guide us to 50 straight Super Bowl wins
  20. Seems like a Gettleman or Hurney type pick where something obvious was staring the war room in the face but they got cute and went with "upside"
  21. Harper looking exactly the same as he did when he played for us ten years ago
