  1. pump your breaks. There will be open fan tryouts. This isn't a complete clownshow. Best man will win. #Lookingfordawgs
  2. I think going 0-17 is basically as hard as going 17-0. It's the NFL. If someone always has a bad day and a roster full of NFL players makes them pay for it. Really really bad teams can stumble into 1-4 wins. 4 is sort of my things go pretty good benchmark. I don't like the how the schedule is. I'd feel better if it was reversed and we had the backend first.
  3. scary. Tepper was offering 78 billion for Watson coming off no football and those charges. Dak? Tepper will be like... and we will be forced to play Jimmy Clausen at RB, Darin Gantt at WR, and a huddler at LT.
  4. the world indoor Pickleball Championships could be coming to BOA!!
  5. Does anything talk about a dome? Tepper did a 180 on a lot to stuff he first talked on. I still think the RH deal was sabatoged intentionally by Tepper simply because being in RH actually made no sense for them and they realized that after it started. Charlotte is where the training facility makes the most practical sense. there was an interview somewhere with Tepper where he said he had the dome part wrong and didn’t want it now. But that could of been BS I guess
  6. We got Teddy B if you shrunk him down and gave him quick feet.
  7. Fitterer was too fixated on that LOB era. It’s why he spent a top 10 pick on a LOB corner despite the team have literally nothing in place. Canales fixation on that old Seattle squad isn’t new. It’s what this franchise has been full of IMO post Rhule’s hiring. We sort of just keep doing the same things to a degree. Canales is young and Frank wasn’t….but neither are innovative. And neither should be calling an O as the HC. And BOTH of them should have had a legit OC vs some newb that forces them into the OC role
  8. Yeah, I’m not a fan of HC playcallers. He isn’t even an experienced OC. Seems like a predictably bad load for him to have on him. He needs to just be the cheerleader rah rah coach that manages the game. Basically be Pete Carroll.
  9. I don't get this logic. I mean, John Fox found some success here or there too when his stubborn run game wasn't working well. His risk taking QB would just chuck it up for 89. Baker was chucking it up to Mike Evans. I mean, Pete, Fox, Ron all had their ideal version of how to play football. When the run wasn't working, they all could find some success in the air. It's just inconsistent football for them. Canales’ Tampa team would have had a bad time last year if they were playing in the old NFCS. As in an actual good division. They beat 2 teams with winning records last year and 1 of those opposing QBs was playing hurt. Division was good when Fox was rolling around playing his brand of football. So yeah, he was sneaking into the playoffs by default with a bad run
  10. Bryce isn't a risk-taking gunslinger. That's just QB DNA. No one has ever said that is what we were drafting when we went that route. That's my point. That's not Bryce. Can you make Alex Smith throw deep? Sure. He will occasionally. In the reverse, can you ask Brett Favre to just take the easy layups? Sure. He can in moments. But in the end, they are what they are. as I have said, Canales probably could win more games with PJ Walker. And Bryce is a better overall QB than PJ. Not suggesting they are comparable QBs. PJ Walker would also have much worse games mixed in that Bryce would. But PJ would take the shots and is built to take them. It's like Jake Delhomme. Jake was making throws Jake probably shouldn't of made....consistently. But that's part of what you need when you are playing the way Fox did. I just think it's a bad fit/pairing. Just like last year was going in. I'll gladly eat crow and be wrong.
  11. Baker just played how Baker played.... everywhere but here. He is a risk taking gunslinger. Always has been. And last year was asked to be what he was. Geno Smith was the best deep ball passer in the NFL his comeback season. Wasn't even close that year. Again, that's the type passer Canales has always been around in the offenses he has been part of. The pass game that compliments the stubborn run is the deep chunk play pass game. And that was his first investment with XL. My continued point, is the same as going into last season. It's a bad marriage going in. The QB doesn't fit the scheme. Again. Carrol/Fox/Ron....all paired up their boring football with risk taking QBs. And again, I'm fine if that is where we are going. It's not my preference but that's not my argument. I'm saying if we are doing that, we need a QB that matches it.
  12. I mean, Tampa played in a horrific division. The NFCS. Which featured teams like the Carolina Panthers. By default a NFCS team gets into the playoffs. How did they win a game? Well, their Jake to Smitty connection had a good day. That happens and why they have gunslingers and deep ball WRs. John Fox and Ron Rivera went to the playoffs. They both went to Super Bowls. Pete Carroll? Seattle? Pete ran and played D. That was the Seattle era. Seattle was still just a variation Fox/Ron football mindset. The dude who ran the ball with Marshawn Lynch and played D during that historic run. He was playing that brand of football with great talent. The LOB era was really John Fox football. And it's why those matchups were so fun.
  13. It's just the 2024 version of 2023's All Star staff talk. Canales has 1 year on the books. And no one would call the 2023 Tampa O innovative. The pro for Canales IMO would be to potentially build a good locker room and energy. Leadership. Something we haven't had much of in the Tepper era. Tepper shouldn't of repeated 2023 mistake of having a HC/OC and trying to groom up an OC. Then Canales could of just focused on being a HC. I don't have an issue w/ Canales' brand of football he ran in Tampa. But you got to have the parts for it. That said, it's basically just a continuation and evolution of Fox/Rivera football. We probably could of just never fired John Fox lol.
  14. even so…before a snap was played last season, no one thought Bryce was going to be a risk taking gunslinger. I’m just saying some schemes and brands of football are suited for those QBs. Canales has always been around offenses that favor that mindset. Sure seems like that is going to continue based on the little we hear and they are doing. so really much like going into last season, it all just seems like parts that shouldn’t go together. Which is an organizational issue more than a Bryce issue. We are poorly managed. Bad fits. I think Bryce would work better with a Joe Brady than Frank Reich or what we saw in Tampa. Think Bryce trends more to the Teddy/Alex Smith world. I mean, they can all technically go deep.
  15. And I have been a big XL guy/fan. He know doubt was drafted because he fits a role that is in all the Os Canales has been around. my concern is Bryce, and it’s probably not a talent issue on this aspect. Just a QB DNA thing. I really think Canales and XL pair best with a gunslinger/risk taker. You want to limit gunslinger with the run but then need the QB to go downfield aggressively. Bryce needs to simply play and be more aggressive downfield. Which is easier said than done if not wired that way
  16. I mean, Chubba Hubbard and a rookie off a ACL? Going against defenses that have no fear of the deep ball? Paired with Canales who had the worst rush attack in the NFL last year? not sure we have high odds of being a dominant rush attack.
  17. In the Tepper era? Seems like a big ask lol. We are trending worse through a half decade. Maybe we have bottomed. I’m not sure though
  18. Last game of 2022. Offense scored 3 points and we beat the Saints 10-7.
  19. I’ll gamble with Giants, Cards, Washington and a random NFCS game. I can’t go higher than 4.
  20. I mean, I think you actually got to put Minshew ahead of Bryce present day. Hell, probably Winston too given the highs he can have
  21. Yep, a perfect world for me is 17 games at 1pm.
  22. XL is fun. I think they should market him heavily. Fun accent. Unable to keep a smile off his face. Just a likable human. A lab built WR in terms of tools. That seems like a smart play right now.
  23. I like the middle right before the bye. Early looks rough to me for a team working in a new offense.
  24. They giving Bryce the Matt Rhule treatment (going into year 3)…..where they tried to highlight everyone but the HC. It just stands out and has the reverse effect.
