Because often in the NFL, your QB is simply going to have to still make plays without getting set. I think Bryce can get better. I think he can be a decent starter potentially. But his ceiling will forever be low and overly dependent on his environment (vs the caliber of player you generally expect with what we invested).

I mean, I was bitching Sunday about how Bryce doesn't even look at the wide open check down over and over and instead scrambles away and kills the play..... someone mentioned in the game chat but he probably can't see how open Hubbard or whoever is given the sight issue he likely faces in the pocket. I mean, you still got guys all over on that list putting the QB on the ground at a higher rate per pass rush play than Burns...and facing a greater % of double teams. and that's the only aspect of Burns' game to talk about. Which isn't true for the others. if Burns' game was more diverse, he might could claim he is worth top tier money.

Clausen couldn't make all the throws and loved the small pointless ball. Weinke was big. With an arm. I would wager you could add up all Clausen and Bryce's 20 yard downfield completions and Weinke might of had more than both added together as a rookie. And Weinke was trash.

I think Clausen is the better comp. If you made Clausen faster on his feet.

Where you pulling those #s' from? Plenty of guys in the top 10 played on teams that didn't see a lot of pass attempts vs them. I don't have the individual players numbers though.

I mean, all he does is speed rush. More to quality edge play than that. That's his entire game.

he was get the default 1 spot going into next season, I think the next HC would fully have the space to demote him next year though. If Bryce picks up where he left off? He isn't playing 17 for a new HC IMO. and Bryce's arm talent is likely to be an issue for a lot of coaches. Because it impacts playbooks.

Brown and Luvu are basically the only things that really matter on this roster. No one else actually does. Hope the next braintrust realizes that.

people need to prepare themselves.... the road to him walking started setting itself up before this season kicked off. Burns' performance this year only increases the odds of that path being a realistic option. Tag and trades aren't as common as folks just walking out the door. Fittmagic likely ain't done.

well, in fairness, Tepper has admitted to being wrong about a lot of his decisions and moved on quick. he fired Ron, Hurney, Rhule, Frank, Fitt, and you got a mirror image at Charlotte FC. Problem isn't him admitting he was wrong IMO.....it's him just getting something right to start with.

Not very safe in the big picture. New HCs largely want their own QB. That fits their own vision. That starts a new time clock. Young is inherited from someone else's mess. So the changes are bad news for him and his career overall. and you judge Bryce down the stretch. We failed to score a TD in 4 of the last 5 games. Shutout in the last 2. Bryce got worse. And Bryce has a lot of independent issues from the rest of the issues. A new HC is going to have to arm this team with QB options even if Bryce is defaulted into the 1 to start it off.

that's probably a good take. Bill was instrumental in helping Brady become Brady.....but Bill largely just reaped the rewards of what Brady became.

I mean, of John Fox, Dom Capers, and all the rest are out there cashing checks.....I don't see why Ron won't go be part of the flamed out HC crowd to go get on a staff. Common theme too. The LOB era has steadily influenced Fitterer. It is why he drafted a LOB corner in the top 10 as his first move too. No way that was Matt Rhule pulling his weight for that. and Tepper came out singing what Fitterer pitched him IMO. Just imagine what we can save if we draft Bryce and we can devote all of our extra resources to our LOB D. That's how you win. That was the mindset Tepper was sold by someone and it's just a ripoff of the old Seattle team

I mean, NFL teams and major corporations routinely sell false narratives about their decisions. A decision gets made and then they all pretend like everyone agrees. It's repeated every year by every team.

I mean, Tepper wanted his org to have the #1 spot. So he did that. He wanted them to be able to have whoever they wanted. I think you misunderstood my post. Frank was a vote for CJ. I think Fitterer and his team were a vote for Young. So in the end, it was Fitterer that convinced Tepper to go with Bryce. If Fitterer had been a CJ voice.....I do not think we draft Bryce Young. Because that meant Frank and Fitterer would have been CJ votes and therefore Tepper doesn't go against both.

my take on it simply has changed with all the leaking on McD that was done this year. Josh Allen is a rare unicorn QB one man showing it much like Newton did...and emerged at a perfect time in that division.
