  1. I’m not protecting the NCAA. I’ve said they sucked and where I think they have been wrong and still are wrong. The majority of college athletes and college programs aren’t raking in millions for their schools. They aren’t profitable. does Bama football or Duke basketball bring in a poo ton of cash? Yes. They don’t represent college sports in general though. so what is fair compensation/payment for a scholarship athlete (with athlete perks)….that plays a sport that puts the school at a loss? Which is most of college athletics. And they aren’t slaves. They ain’t going pro either. They got better deals than the rest of the student body as a whole though. *also coaches at public universities should have a cap in terms of salary.
  2. so.....again, how do think the salary for a full ride female swimmer at FL State should be determined/calculated. I see the emoji. I see the insult. I don't see you actually saying anything though. The NCAA sucking isn’t a defense for nonsensical suggestions and accusations.
  3. What do you think a feel free female swimmer at FL State should get paid? What do you think a full ride male soccer player at Wake Forest should get paid? Or the track kid a South Carolina? What calculation should determine the paid salary you think they are owed? Please feel free to use your words. The NCAA sucks. But just because they suck doesn't mean going nonsensical the other direction makes sense either.
  4. putting jean Friday and all that to the side.....the Tepper and Richardson bashers aren't the same people. Overlap? Sure. But Tepper has plenty of unique Tepper bashers. *probably has something to do with the worse run in the history of the Panthers being his ownership. Jerry's teams always won. They just couldn't stack seasons together.
  5. College athletes should be able to profit off their own name and image if it is being used. Many of the NCAA violations are bogus too. And they should be able to work. The NCAA hasn't handled college athletes correctly. But the majority of college athletic programs aren't even profitable. And in general, the athletes in those programs, especially the full scholarship athletes aren't victims. What is appropriate pay for a full ride scholarship athlete that recieves a tons of perks vs their non scholarship or their non-athlete peers.....for a sport that brings in no profit? college football's Trevor Lawerence or Justin Fields...aren't representative of college athletes as a whole. They are anomolies. The rules for all can't be set around them.
  6. Tepper hasn't said diddly. So he wouldn't be repeating himself. again, RH and Tepper both have a duty here. This is a taxpayer funded project. Not sure you why you are seeking to protect Tepper like he is Sam Darnold in a preseason game. Tepper and RH both have an obligation to be transparant on what is going on.
  7. Articles are articles. Talk radio is talk radio. They deal with only the info they have access to and leaked info/talking points they are given. Basic accountability. It comes with the territory. RH and Tepper. And we are talking about tax payer money. So yeah, Tepper should come out of hiding and deal with this debacle. If people want the luxury of hiding then use your own money.
  8. Then he should come out of hiding and address things. Like he was called out to do.
  9. If there was a 33rd expansion team announced today and cities could lobby for it…..there would be suitors/competition. Same thing.
  10. Last line in the article below is also true. Again, Tepper has no connection here, no history here and doesn’t live in the area. In the end, he is going to flex on Charlotte for a new stadium or threaten to leave. Maybe that’s why Tepper seems to be untroubled by the current situation. His deeper message could be far more pointed. Give me what I want, or I eventually will be gone.
  11. Evan Mathis went on to be an All Pro/Pro Bowl G when he left
  12. well, I doubt he hates Sam Darnold. Sam is a likeable human. But I doubt he likes playing football with him as a QB. That's just basic common sense. Sam has been the worst starting QB in the NFL over the last 4 seasons. What WR would want to play with that and like it?
  13. Mac Jones did have the 2nd toughest schedule in all of college football his big season. Pickett faced the 6th toughest out of the ACC schools (37th overall) I don’t think he is as pro ready as Mac. Plus a lot of Mac being pro ready was simply being in NE with one of the best staffs in football. Which isn’t what our guy will have. Mac wouldn’t of been the same dude IMO under Rhule as Bill. NE won with Cassell, found a way with a broken down Cam and a depleted roster, etc. NE gets the best out of guys via coaching.
  14. I’m probably more worried about them mortgaging future picks than drafting Pickett. I don’t like Pickett but whatever. He ain’t saving Rhule’s job.
  15. I remember going back and looking at Sam’s college fumbles because he had some mind boggling stuff. It was easy to find legit sports folks talking about it but it was really hard to find a website that had it all correct.
  16. Okay. 52 games. 58 turnovers. Not sure that changes things. I just took the numbers presented here and added them to his picks. But I’ll try to find to some on my own to see if it is legit. A quick google of the issue shows a billion articles repeating the stat BUT none of those are reputable sources. And fumble stats get hard to find sometimes in college. So it could be folks repeating a bad stat that isn’t easy to find.
  17. 52 starts - 58 turnovers bad in the pocket Can checkdown very well to first reads hmmm….sounds oddly familiar.
  18. desperate people do desperate things. I’m going to guess they trade future picks to gain some more picks in this draft.
  19. 13 TDs, 9 INTs. That was 2020 and 2019. That’s a low bar for good season.
  20. he didn't stink. But he wasn't good. He had 1 good season in a 5 year career.
  21. Who you play in a year is who you play in a year. 2021 was a super easy schedule vs teams Pitt played in 2020. ND joining certainly is relevant. Pitt had to play them in 2020. Didn't in 2021. It's also relevant if UNC or Miami or Clemson were having good years or bad years. If you are simply contrasting how weak or strong the ACC was from one year to another.
  22. yeah, so was Will Grier. Will Grier was Heisman finalist and was very good his last season. He actually had 2 very good seasons back to back(unlike Pickett). Grier also played a tougher SOS in both his good seasons than Pickett did in his one. If Pickett was coming into the NFL last season or even Will Grier's seasons....no one would be talking about spending a 1st round pick on him. And certainly not the #6 overall pick.
  23. On top of the ACC power having an offense that made the Carolina Panther offense look good last season? Well... the Coastal Division Pitt plays in was super weak last year. Miami and UNC finished as top 25 teams the year prior. Both stunk last year. ND was part of the ACC the year prior too who finished top 5 with Clemson and they were removed from the equation. ACC was definately weaker Pickett's one good season than it was the season prior.
  24. Justin Fields probably fits that though. I mean, he doesn't have the same elusiveness as those two but he has the speed.
  25. yet he stunk for 4 years at Pitt. Had one good season in year 5 that happened to be in a down year for the ACC (which is still weak in a strong year). We are going to spend the #6 overall QB on a guy who is basically on par as a prospect overall as a Will Grier. But Grier at least was drafted rightfully in the 3rd round. Which is what would have happened to Pickett in a good draft class too.
