  1. Well, I was really talking about the start of each new era. Rhule - never before OC Frank - never before OC Canales - never before OC McAdoo was picked up out of the trash can after that model of no one knowing what to do showed to be an error. Yet....we keep going right back to that formula each redo.
  2. maybe just maybe.....Carolina should try a first in the David Tepper era? Maybe we should try hiring our very FIRST OC that isn't figuring it all out for the first time how to do the job. Maybe part of the reason our O struggles so much.....is EVERY OC Tepper has employed has never done the job before. 3 for 3. On the job training. 2/3 lead by HCs who had ever done their job before either. I think that's part of why our preseasons under Tepper consistently are bologna pressers and this weird game of how to handle the preseason. Started with Rhule. They didn't know what to do. Was evident they were winging it when cameras/media got in year 2.
  3. local radio is questioning it, local media is questioning it, fans question it. I mean, we are the worst team in all of professional sports so nationally you we aren't going to be blip on any radar.
  4. it's one thing to ask a literal HOF QB with a decade of experience to play small ball with a shrunken field... when you ask some random green QB.....you get the worst O in the NFL (see last year)
  5. Austin Corbett has never even logged 1 NFL snap at C…..not a single snap. Patrick Mahomes was out this weekend throwing behind the back passes to Kelce lol
  6. His deep ball even in college was meh. I mean, there as no one talking about drafting him because of his ability to attack downfield at this level. It was the super mind point guard. Bryce is too small not to be a pocket QB. It’s the double edged sword of Bryce. You can only move the pocket so much before that gets too predictable
  7. The Jets aren’t an example of a team doing what we are doing. Which IMO is your argument here. they have a HOF QB, coming off an injury….there is something to protect. My challenge is still the same. Take the last 20 years. Name a really bad healthy young QB that a team sat all preseason? That was projected to start. It’s just not the norm in the NFL. Everyone isn’t doing that.
  8. I don’t think he has much choice. That’s the ask of QBs in all the prior Os. Issue is it’s never been his strength and being in traditional pro pocket I think plays against him. Just seems like a forced marriage of two things that don’t fit.
  9. that's not what he said at all. He simply knows he can't just say no this early on in the week. So he does some open to the idea of it if the stars aligned in a way that made sense lol. 0.0% chance. Bills are playing their backups. We already know their plans. McD puts it on the table. He is not playing the silly Panther preseason games we seem to be fixated on. Canales isn't putting his O out there to get smacked by backups as we head into the season. Whatever fake momentum we have would be stomped into the ground.
  10. bot hitting us with the double whammy. I'm convinced this is no bot. This is just a straight up troll at BOA.
  11. Past 3 consecutive years (this is 4), Panthers have had glaring red flags going up in the preseason. Same folks largely argue it makes total sense each year and you shouldn't question it every year. I'm sticking with the dumb team is being dumb again.
  12. see, you are having an argument that doesn't exist. No one gives a poo about the scoreboard. That is meaningless. the preseason isn't just player evaluation. They are reps to help growth and development. They are reps to see what basic functions in your O are and aren't working BEFORE the season starts. You got players and coaches in real time explaining all that.
  13. it's actually the history of developing young/bad quarterbacks. and yeah, the Panthers don't seem to care much about that. my crusade is just to point out how the Panthers continue to march to the beat of their own drum under Tepper. And we are off beat and dancing drunk.
  14. the technical outcome is meaningless. You don't even need a scoreboard. they present the only opportunity a bad QB can get a legit reps before a season starts. That's it. All the other reps they see going into a season are controlled and protected. Every one of them.
  15. If it was meaningless, you could name 1 player in NFL history that is comparable and that the coaches didn't think need to take advantage of the reps and opportunity they create. - bad young QB - healthy, not coming off injury - in a brand new O.
  16. yeah, reps aren't meaningless for bad players. Especially bad young ones.....in a new offense, playing with a lot of new teammates on the OL and at WR. Neither are live reps in games that don't count yet. veterans got nothing to do with young, healthy, bad players, that are quarterbacking a brand new O, with a brand new OL, and WRs. Reps matter. Which is why you can't find any Bryce Young comparable. Because they are all out there getting reps going into that type season. NFL coaches have proven those reps do matter. If they didn't, you could name similar players to Bryce Young that have followed this path the only thing IMO that would make it okay not to be working a bad young QB coming off last season, in a brand new O, is if he himself was actually dealing with an injury or was coming off one. We know he isn't the latter. But if he was currently banged up I could accept that.
  17. I mean, to me it really just a coach gripe. Nothing Bryce can do but tight rope answers that aren't anything. but yeah, I thing people should care about Bryce Young developing, growing and getting reps going into a season. He is a young bad player. In a brand new offense. With a brand new OL. People would be hard pressed to find an example of another young, bad QB, in a brand new O that was held out of preseason work. Not even talking about just this year. But any year. It's not normal. So it stands out. I mean, I think people should care about the worst team in all of professional sports.....trailing blazing down their own unique ways to "fix" things.
  18. Horn has massive upside. Horn has little trade value You just keep Horn. Then you let him walk when his rookie deal is done.
  19. David Gettis and Ian Thomas are the preseason wonders GOATs.
  20. "I like playing in the preseason, honestly. Getting in there, trying to make sure that we're doing stuff the right way, and then getting out, trying to keep everybody healthy. And then playing the sport that I love. So I'm excited for the opportunity. Hopefully, we can hold off the rain a little bit and go out there and play a good football game against a good team." I mean, that's a standard answer. His coach can also give standard answers to the press about which quarters he will play, what quarters others will play, who and what.....and doesn't wait until game day to slip it out.
