Panthers Select Trevin Wallace LB - Pick 72, Round 3
CRA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
They aren’t the offensive skill players I think this draft put on the table for us to walk away with. So that’s just my beef. It was gong to have to be that for me to thumbs up it. Thought from the jump you could have landed 2 stud WRs by tonight and a RB tomorrow that could all see the field and improve our O. I’m in record not giving a rip about the D until we get the offense on the right path -

I wanted Mitchell and Leggette. Said it for weeks. In the end, we could have had Leggette and Mitchell. now the ghost of Marty Hurney inspired Morgan I wasn’t going to be happy without some variation of 2 WRs over the course of Thurs and Fri. Oh well…at least I like the first pick -

Somewhere this guy is watching and really liking the back to back RB and LB moves…. -

Brooks can play, but his blew his knee out at the end of the football season. Probably 2025 is when we really would see Brooks back in form. Most guys aren’t a Peterson freak show. They take time to get back up to where they were. -

people don’t want it to be….but truth is, these are largely the same folks that have been doing this job. We just had a fall guy. maybe they get luckier this year. -

DJ Johnson? I feel certain Morgan had a lot of input there it’s largely the same folks. I think Fitterer would refer to his right man and former LB on that pick as well as the staff still largely in place -
Does Bryce have any further excuses for this upcoming year?

Gross, Wharton, and Kalil. Kalil was HUGE for Cam. -

Just for the record… Last year, going into the season….Bryce had an all star coaching staff and folks here said we had a O roster that rivaled the 2003 Super Bowl team around him. -
Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB - 46th Pick, Round 2
CRA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
We are the worst team in the NFL. That factors for me. if we were trying to get over the hump….someone mentioned teams like Buffalo, SF, etc investing in a RB. I think it changes things if you are in a position to just find a missing piece to a puzzle almost put together plus he just blew his knee out. Don’t even know if he will be ready come camp time. That’s just not going to get people that aren’t big on RBs early to change that mindset just because Carolina did it l. Think in this particular draft….3rd round was the earliest I would entertain RBs and that’s early. So I’m just staying true to what I said leading up to the draft -
Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB - 46th Pick, Round 2

Canales had the worst run game in all the NFL last year. He is a former WR and QB coach. I think this whole running narrative is being a tad overplayed…..I think to an extent it was just coach speak dealing with questions about a QB he didn’t really know coming off a bad debut -
Panthers Select Jonathan Brooks RB - 46th Pick, Round 2
CRA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
the Panthers were the first to take a RB. One that blew his knee out and isn’t even healthy. And this is a weak RB class. We also happen to be the worst team in the NFL. I mean, maybe walking out of this draft claiming you were the first to draft a RB in round 2 isn’t a brag….and we shouldn’t have be demanded to like or are a Debbie Downer. That’s just not how teams do it 2024 -

Fitterer and Hurndog morphed into one just not a fan of drafting RBs in top 2 rounds given what you can get later. Then you add he just blew out his knee? -
Fitterer!!!!

I mean, you can’t trust a rookie C in 2024 with a QB that is still figuring things out and everyone learning a new O. We can draft a C. Don’t want to see him this season though

I think CMC devalued Debo in SF -
ALERT: Mike Garafalo, Panthers taking RB in 2nd round
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
hope this dude is wrong. This draft isn’t a stud RB class. Drafting the best RB isn’t giving you an elite prospect. Just wait Carolina. End up with a comp back in rounds 3 or 4 -

All I know is, in terms of their visits. It sure looked WR, RB and DT heavy, Got to think we leave draft with those spots in their ideal world. But I don’t want any RB at 39. We can round out our backfield later in the draft. -

Dane Brugler Carolina Panthers projection rd 2 and 3
CRA replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
yeah, I think the value is better elsewhere where our picks are elsewhere. I want them to just sign Gilmore and rent him and maybe take a swing at that CFL DB late in the draft. -
Panthers Select Xavier Legette WR - Pick 32, Round 1
CRA replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
True, but I think us occupying this no mans land in terms of trying to be this weird building but win now nothing team.....has been our biggest flaw the past several years. We tried to be that last year. The last several before that. I mean, Carolina literally claimed they drafted him to work the slot. He was heavy slot guy overall in college. Life on the outside is harder. And then we wonder why Mingo struggled so much as a rookie. What would have been the worst case scenario by developing him as we said we intended? We would have been the exact same team. The whole season was basically this Adam Theilen snooze fest. Which in the end, served no point. I think Theilen has to occupy the slot less. There is a cost IMO of him being there with his high floor. -
I think the talent at the top of the 2nd where our 39th pick is really good. I hope they just take someone there. I hate the water down approach for more players.
-
I need XL to get on that Jimmy Clausen app where he gave Matt Rhule a pep talk....and have XL give me an "oh wee mayne" to use her for the next decade when appropriate.
-
Theilen really doesn't need to be here. Wish they would trade him to win now team that could use a savy vet on key passing downs. He occupies a spot we a really should be using to help develop young players at.

Panthers pick up 5th year option on Jaycee Horn
CRA replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
he stands out when I see him on the field. I'm like, who is that guy we just picked up.
