Cam on Bryce needing to step up and Tepper cleaning house in 2020
CRA replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
Cam Newton was the greatest shortage yardage weapon in NFL history. Cam was a unicorn as a runner. Ron embraced it which IMO was the right call and most coaches would have never done it. Embracing what made him special. On and off the field. Ron did both. I still think Ron gets too much hate on Cam. The real injustice was the roster around Cam, not how Cam was used. -
last 33rd pick was essentially dealt for a 3rd rounder. I just want them to draft BPA at 33. Trading more times than not has you kicking yourself in hindsight IMO. we need instant offensive help if we are going to salvage this Bryce pick. That should be the priority. Seeing if Bryce can remain the dude. We should be able to get skill talent that can see the field in this draft on O.

Panthers shouldn't trade down. We should be drafting BPA at 33 and then 39 (my preference is O). Not watering down those picks in search of more. 33 is basically a 1st rounder and we don't have ours. Trading it to pick up a 3rd just ain't worth watering it down.

Panthers.com has him up. Under staff, not coaches. Athletic and Human Performance Staff. It's the Rhule hire. I guess that is up to date if on the site. Carolina Panthers

Cam on Bryce needing to step up and Tepper cleaning house in 2020
CRA replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
yeah, I mean, Cam has addressed that before. That was his game and good luck trying to stop him. Got to let a lion roar or something like that. Ron for all his faults, totally embraced Cam being Cam. Personality and style of play. Every coach wouldn't of created an environment for him to be special. -
The Offense and its Impact on Bryce Young and the WR(s) we draft
CRA replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
if you could of turned injuries off like in Madden and had him be the featured RB? Stewart likely would be a legit Panther GOAT. Crazy skill set. Despite being built like he could of played in the 80s.....Stewart was also great in a spread offense and modern looks. Oregon was straight spread and his best season as a Panther was running out of the Cam gun. -

I mean, I was a Cam stan before drafting him was popular. I think people are way too fixated on that narrative. When we drafted him I largely said 2 things. 1. If we draft Cam, you have to let him be Cam. His size as runner is what made him special. 2. Cam Newton would never have the same type career in terms of length of traditional pocket passers. If you were trying to milk years onto his career....you would ruin what made him great. Cam running didn't shorten his career. Ron and Cam were actually a good match. The fault is on the GM for the roster management. Cam Newton could go out there today and truck the entire league. Running didn't cause his injuries. -
The Offense and its Impact on Bryce Young and the WR(s) we draft
CRA replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
last 4 games....they broke 100 yards once. Against us. outside of that, they largely had to see a bottom 10 rush D to even hover around average. I just think this whole Canales is going to have us being a good rushing team mantra......is cobbling up coach bologna that we fall victim to over and over. if we are having to lean heavily on Hubbard and Miles Sanders on some John Fox football.....I think that's a sign this Bryce experiment is basically done. -

is saying we are going to have a strong running game really any different than Frank Reich claiming we are going to have this creative offense that was being held secret? Canales has 1 season to his name. He had the worst rush attack in the NFL. I think that's just a coach saying stuff. Only really way to have a strong rush attack is to line up under C and play old school football....or have an elite rusher. I don't see how we will be in position to have a strong rush attack this year. We have average RBs. Lining up under C all game until we can't and pounding the rock doesn't jive with Bryce Young or developing the former #1 overall we gave up the farm for. I think Canales says the run stuff because our QB was bad last year and he knows we got a LOT of work to do on the pass game. -
Xavier Legette and Peyton Wilson 33 and 39
CRA replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
yeah, the only thing I will say about Leggette.....is I don't think Bryce Young would be a good fit for him given what we saw from Bryce. but I also don't think Bryce Young showed enough to have him influence big future investments. Just short terms ones. I think our front office should be building going forward for what would be good for a QB. Leggette seems ideal for a Jake Delhomme type. Which ain't Bryce. -
Xavier Legette and Peyton Wilson 33 and 39

I mean, yeah, they both are raw...but I still don't think that then makes them comparable prospects. Leggette's skill set and style IMO projects to him being able to be a factor quicker than Mingo. Which is why Leggette had a dominate season in the SEC.....and Mingo never saw such. and as I have said from the jump, I really want a WR double dip. That's always been when I brought Leggette in. Frankly, I wish we just drafted the 2 best WRs, BPA at TE and RB the next 2. Top 4 all offense. Focus on adding young skill talent on O this draft. Cupboard is bare everywhere. Make it an O skill talent draft. -

Leggette is not a Mingo clone. That's just calling a dude who is short Steve Smith. They had different trajectories and peaks in college. They weren't playing the same game in college at their college peaks. I don't want him over Ladd. But he isn't Mingo coming out. If Mingo was in this draft, he is behind Leggette. -

I just have 2 wishes for this draft. Don't trade down. And get a WR in the 2nd. Just get BPA at WR. Last thing we need to do is water down picks when we don't have a 1st to begin with. -

I’ve been a Leggette praiser bruh. Tons of threads where I’m arguing for him. I mean, he has been part of almost every mock scenario I have pitched since pre-combine. I just don’t want him at 33. Say that one thing and you erase all my Leggette stan posting lol. -

I mean, I’ve been lobbying for Leggette for weeks and weeks. And it started before the combine….but now I’m some Clemson hater? my ideal draft I was pitching was a back to back of some sort of Mitchell and then Leggette back to back play and that was before we picked up that 2nd. and the top of the 3rd was a possibility then. Now people are driving him up their boards higher. Which happens. so yeah, I’d love Leggette. At the right place. Which isn’t the 33rd. -
Carolina Panthers: The NFL's Rollercoaster franchise
CRA replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Rollercoaster….feels more like like Merry Go Round. -
That’s exactly why Wilson should be a no though. Luke, TD and an Beason are all examples of how extremely brutal ILB is on the body. And they didn’t come in to the league with injures from head to toe…. like Wilson is about to.

that doesn’t feel like BPA drafting… Leggette should be a 3rd pick and the other guy has an injury history just too big to ignore- 132 replies

Reason I pump the breaks on both TMJ and Mingo…..is they were just 500-700 per year collegiate guys.
