A team could sit back and play cover 3 all game….that doesn’t make them the same challenge as the historic Legion of Boom defense. The Saints are a significantly better defense than Seahawks. Doesn’t matter if Seattle is trying to play the same. Saints are just flat out better. I just think you have to account for the fact we played a really bad D this week and a strong one last week. That’s going to result in different outcomes for us.

Hubbard’s 1 carry was at the end of the 3rd quarter his first last week was in the 4th

Scheme. Playcalls. And predictability. All that matters. 89 and commented on it last week. You can’t say a OL can’t run block or a RB can’t run….when opponents know what you are doing. They are just going to beat you if they know. Biggest issue is Frank Reich. His predictable calls. Too much shotgun. And you can’t do what he has done these past two weeks running just Miles. It makes it even more comical. Hubbard is now a tip. It’s a pass play. Every time for 2 weeks. Frank’s poo play calling was aided week 1 because there at least was some uncertainty about run/pass with Hubbard.
-
In fairness, Frank is limiting Hubbard because Hubbard made Miles look stupid week 1. He was the best offensive player that week and Frank made sure Miles gets all the rushes post reality check.
-
Only team I feel certain is worse is the Bears. I think Denver out scores us.
-
Nope. Frank is getting a year 2. Trading away those picks basically guaranteed it. Fitt will be sacrificed to the football gods. It’s why I wanted Fitt fired with Rhule. You always have an easy scapegoat when they aren’t.
-
All hope is not lost. I feel we will win the week 10 matchup vs the Bears. We are only the 2nd worst team in football. bad news is the Bears likely have #1 and #2 picks

Suuuuuuuuuuuure does look like coaching is the problem

Matt Rhule never started 0-3 in any of his horrible seasons -
It’s was their D that allowed Frank slightly more success than we had been having with his whack scheme and our talent. Seattle’s D has been a dumpster fire through 3 games. Notch Rd , Lexington, But I do agree home field and noise aided them big time today. Like it always does.
-
Frank can’t figure out why the run game as been crap since week 1. well, week 1 you weren’t just a Miles Sanders rush attack. It was less predictable out of your poo scheme.

We played one of the worst defenses this week and one of the better ones last week. So there are going to be some differences everything still looks the same overall. It’s a poor scheme with weak talent. All 3 games have ultimately followed the same pattern *Dalton did find a busted coverage Bryce might not of. And yes, Dalton is going to handle a loud places like Seattle better than a rookie. But that cuts both ways. Andy trying to audible so much was too much for our bad OL and was costly -
did this game not follow the exact same pattern as the other 2? Close at half. Then they pull away. All 3 games have been pretty similar people are going to inflate the passing yards because of how bad Seattle is on D is act like something changed. Dalton still just at 50 something completion.

Take away the QB….and what you have is a bad team you insert him into. Simple as that. and like I have said since before the season started. Frank Reich should not be calling plays. It starts there. -
We are playing a significantly worse D vs last week. Everyone has put up 30 on Seattle to date.
-
Frank is our playcaller.
-
Worth noting, Seattle’s D has been dog poo giving up 30+ in every game.
-
I’m about to go find that preseason Sanders thread and bump it….where I kept telling folks over and over about Sanders and got poo’d on.
-
2nd week in a row. it’s the 3rd quarter and Hubbard doesn’t have a rush attempt at this point in the game. Frank knows it made Sanders look bad week 1 to let Hubbard in the mix
-
Well, there are different variables at play. Saints have a better D. Life should be harder vs them. still think you need a full game from Dalton before making any definitive statements. Half to go
-
if the question is about WRs getting open and scheme getting them open….I can. Because it’s not relevant to that. It’s a positive of Andy Dalton. He can find busted coverage and take advantage of that. 2 different things
-
Take out the busted coverage play Andy is 59% for 111 yards against a bad secondary. I still say you got to see a full game. This offense in reality isn’t doing much and generally the 2nd half/3rd is where it has really been bogging down for them
