Has McAdoo developed a QB? Has Rhule ever had good QB play? it’s a hard sell IMO that they shouldn’t be questioned. With both having a past of nonsense and mismanagement. And they clearly are struggling right now with some easy calls IMO.

I think most here concede Corral would be 3rd. Not the backup. The highest cap hit on the roster will be the backup once the charade runs its course.

People are advocating that he be set up to learn…..just like teams are doing with other draft picks that they also aren’t planning to start. If the roster is going to be Baker/Sam/Corral. What is the point of spitting starter reps and robbing Baker of the amount he needs….and letting Sam/PJ rob Corral of the amount he needs to grow behind the scenes.

Given the way Rhule looks at other spots like Baker\Sam, our C situation, Brady going from not having the tools to play LT to keeping our top 10 LT out of the spot to date….I’d say it is a tough sell. Think the most obvious take is Rhule has a pointless mess in front of Corral and Corral suffers from that. You got dudes like 89 saying it’s clear watching that Corral is a stud that needs reps/time to develop. Rhule has fantasy competitions that aren’t real. That’s the story. Corral is part of trickle down effect. There are others. Like Baker and Bozeman not working together all off-season and figuring it out in season pointlessly, etc. But we got college Rhule out there screwing around not able to figure out the clear cut best players.

Nah. McAdoo proved to be very similar to Rhule with the HC set on his head. Give me Wilks or Tabor.

Miami has a brand new coaching staff. Mike McDaniel. Looks 15. Talks like he is 15. lol.

I guess everything is subject to change, but early on I believe Rhule already said he would not play his starters vs the Pats given the workload they will get in practice this upcoming week I believe. so if that is true. I’d like to see Shi more at punt return specifically. Know he an do KR. and I’d like the actual and proper starting OL and QB be determined and treated as such

The most successful season of Matt Rhule’s entire coaching career was with PJ Walker. I think that plays some part in why PJ continues to be employed under Rhule

I think Baker will be Baker. Good games, bad games. Because he is going to take that shot to Robbie. And it is going to hit. And sometimes he will take it and it’s going to be a pick. I do think Jake Delhomme is probably the best comparable of a Panther. Jake was exciting because he would put it up for 89 or Moose. Good things and bad things happen with a gunslinger. think this season will come down to what we really have on D and coaching. The offensive talent is there to have some success. So it me, how good of a season comes down to what you think of our coaching and defensive unit.

It’s all vanilla. I don’t think you can judge anything. NFL is all about team specific adjustments and game planning for each opponent. it’s not like people had their pitchforks out when TMJ was tearing up preseason ball with the prior guy.

Only NFL team that drafted a QB carrying 4 is Pitt. And they drafted 2. Sam, Baker and Matt are all young. Given Corral is developmental, I don’t think there is a worry about overusing his arm at the 3rd spot.

That was the case for all the QBs though. Not unique to Corral. The other 3rd rounders are 2nd or 3rd on the depth chart and getting experience that allows growth. Corral is 4th. The other teams aren’t carrying 4 QBs because you can’t give 4 work. the problem is we have Sam and PJ on the roster. Sure seems like Rhule values giving PJ a tryout for other teams over letting Corral having the reps he should be getting in camp.

I actually thought the Baker throw to Robbie was perfect. Now, was it a smart throw into double coverage like that? I don’t know. But the ball was just about perfect IMO given the coverage.

Corral is fine in theory. He wasn’t suppose to look good today. He is a rookie getting 4th string reps to date behind horrible OL play. and the other 3rd round rookies you see play are getting more camp work. They aren’t getting 4th string work. will he be fine in the long run? Carolina was named as a team you didn’t want to be drafted to for a reason as a QB. Who knows. Not sure anyone can state Rhule is the guy to develop a young QB like Corral and will create a good place for someone like that to thrive. OC is known for working with established Super Bowl champs too. Not creating them. Until we have less QBs ahead of Corral I don’t expect much from him. Hope would be Rhule quickly corrects the QB mess ahead of Corral sooner rather than later.

He is 4th string merely because Rhule won’t part with Sam or PJ today. it’s not that he isn’t good enough for 3rd string reps. We have pointless bodies ahead of him. 89 and all sorts of folks have commented on his clear talent and how it stands out….and that he only needs reps/time. Development. Matt Rhule continues to struggle with simple things when looking at QB. He should cut PJ today and name Baker the stater and actually rep people correctly. It’s like the OL. Rhule makes simple hard.

Maybe. If Rhule keeps 3 QBs ahead of him until then… I doubt Corral will look drastically different. Sam and PJ both being here essentially negatively impacts Baker and Corral. And they are the two we should care most about

Cool. But he isn’t even getting 3rd string NFL reps. And reps matter. They aren’t the end all be all…..playbook, time and all that matters too. Reps is where you start figuring out the game speed.

Plenty of time to develop. But he still has to have coaches that can develop him and put him in a position to develop. Thus far, that clearly isn’t the case here. Given the mess ahead of Corral, it doesn’t look like he will get much growing the is preseason. Unless our coaches quickly correct the mess ahead of him. Which I doubt.

How can a rookie that doesn’t get training camp reps be ready to play behind bad OL play that’s coaching Corral doesn’t even get 3rd string reps

I put this disaster with Corral on the coaches and their QB mismanagement. Sam stealing reps and work. Throwing a rookie with little camp work behind a bad OL and it is going how you would think it would. Sam and PJ’s pointlessness shows where it impacts things

More than Corral. Howell has less QBs in front of him taking reps.

He hasn’t really gotten reps and is out there with a scrub OL. He sort of looks bad by design IMO to a degree. I mean, Matt Rhule isn’t who I would pick to develop a QB. He seems to really struggle with all things QB at this level. That’s basically his Achilles heel as a pro coach.
