  1. Or at very least you need to be always prepping backups because injuries happen, and very few rushing offenses these days are just one back. Even on PHI and BAL, where the QB is really the #2 rushing threat, there is still a RB averaging ~4-5 ypc as a change of pace option.
  2. Not to mention, we have one of the better OLs and RBs (well when he's healthy) in the game. I don't think our supporting cast is as bad as some make it out to be. Receiving in specific is weak, but for most of the year, so was the QB throwing them the ball...
  3. I think that's true, and it's fine to point out how he's made some critical plays. But overall imo he's still not quite putting together the consistent high level play within and between games a lot of us want to see out of a QB (he's had stretches, which is promising). That's why the need to subset Bryce's games to ever smaller subsets (the last 2 games in this conversation) to prove how good he is / his place in the league becomes silly I think.
  4. Looks like OSU's offense came to play, damn.
  5. These may have been the best 12 teams, but there's no way this Boise team should have come in at #3.
  6. Weren't SC and ALA supposed to be in the playoffs according to fans? Also I hope Boise makes this competitive, ugh
  7. What makes you think that exactly? Admittedly he probably wins the same games as Bryce but I don't think he sneaks one of our losses to a win with him based on how the opposing team played...
  8. Right but that would mean a 2 year deal vs 3 year. It's hard to find which one is correct. This Yahoo article says 2025 would be his last year. https://sports.yahoo.com/ejiro-everos-future-panthers-tricky-150042180.html
  9. I'd like a QB room revamp. Late round/UDFA/whatever development guy, veteran for camp (younger than Dalton) and go from there. I don't expect them to beat Bryce in camp, but I think a competition in camp will be good for the team. I don't want us to invest in QBs since we have so many holes. I just would like to see Canales able to pick his QBs (outside Bryce ofc).
  10. NYT says 3 year deal with Reich... Paywalled but Google sees all: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5250477/2024/02/05/carolina-panthers-dave-canales-ejiro-evero/%23:~:text%3DBut%20Evero%20was%20under%20contract,defensive%20coordinators%20in%20the%20league.&ved=2ahUKEwjV7aOCmtKKAxVhOjQIHdVCClMQFnoECBYQBQ&sqi=2&usg=AOvVaw26P2xRu-08Q1B_x7PqmQ0_
  11. I thought he signed a 3 year deal when he joined Reich's staff... I think he has 1 year left, no?
  12. He wasn't bad enough to give up on after half a season... He followed that season with 3800 yards and 28 TDs. I wish Bryce had done that this year. Maybe next year.
  13. Rams didn't think he was good enough to win a Superbowl - in no way was Goff a bust in any real measure of that word.
  14. It's possible some of our OL (Moton/OGs) might, but none of our skill players would. Thielen would probably get some playing time tho.
  15. I think the announcers said something like we've used 10 more different players than any other team...
  16. Almost every D has players at the Jewell/Woods etc level starting... Jackson and Clowney have, at times, been extremely good too imo... The problem is there's nobody other than Horn playing that ever deserves a positive comment like that on our D lol. Our JAGs are our best players
  17. No way Deion allows that. But it would be a good decision overall imo.
  18. Bryce has had some incredible drives and great throws, but he's missed a lot and had plenty of bad throws - including some he gets bailed out on by AT. I think he's very inconsistent which is why he'll do something like having some of the most "big time" throws but not pass for more than 300 yards over the stretch. He's had a handful of overall very good games and an equal number of meh games. Ultimately the inconsistency means he's about average. He's so, so much better than last year it's easy to miss that.
  19. How is our situation the worst? We have a receiver that is regularly top 5 in separation. Promising young TE and WR, tho we can't get them the ball...We have a top 10 OL... Well now that Hubbard is out we are in a much worse spot, lol. But for most of the season we weren't...
  20. NE is worse in every way I think, lol. Watching them play is painful. It's a good question. Outside of QB - and including the OL - which teams are worse overall this year, given injuries etc? We have a top 10 line and running game, and thus a decent scoring offense. We have a very good #2 level receiver in AT. I'd need to pay closer attention to some rosters but my instinct is NE, CLE, JAX, TEN, CHI, NYG, HOU(receivers better by a lot for those last 3 but not others - and HOU has been decimated by injuries) are below us in overall O talent other than QB. There may be others, I've not watched many bubble teams this year. I think there's probably 20 QBs that easily look as good or better than Bryce on this offense, with virtually every starting rookie QB and Stroud on that list. But Bryce is definitely improving and that may not be true next season.
  21. Very true. We had a couple good drives in a row - if we had a decent kicker we would have come out of the half with a chance to make it a one score game. My big concern with the offense is consistency. But our best weapon was out, so...
  22. Honestly you're about to see, imo, one of the best throws of BYs young career on a TD to give me hope that we could make the 2nd half interesting... Ah well.
  23. Realistically, Tepper made the wrong choice in Rhule and GMs and the roster suffered. We jettisoned nearly all of our talent for the dream of a franchise QB, and Bryce (could still turn it around I suppose) hasn't been particularly good. His best games have been rather average, while Daniels, like Stroud last year, has been phenomenal at times with a good to decentish defense.
