    This is interesting considering Tepper told Steve Smith to his face on air that he doesn’t retire numbers. Tepper making an exception for Cam and #1 is a big deal. Honestly though. #1 should be retired with Cam.

    Again, Darnold was plan C and they had to talk themselves into it. I think the decision to go with him over Fields came from fear they wouldn’t be able to get a QB in the draft and this need to win now. Dumb decision as they should have hedged their bets with both QBs. When in QB purgatory, you take as many swings as possible.

    Cam has so much more NFL experience than Rhule and Brady, it Will be interesting to see how he changes things.

    Desperate times makes people do crazy things. So does almost no NFL experience.

    Who knows. Do you really think we would have given him an extension? I don’t. It’s highly possible that he would have left last year and we’d have still picked up Sam.

    Rappaport tweeted that Cam and Rhule met 1:1 to ‘clear the air’. He didn’t do that with Tepper so could be some truth to this all being Rhules idea.

    Still prob the same or cheaper than giving Cam that contract extension.

    The past 3 years have been the most eventful in Panthers History. New owner, new coach, new GM, new QBs, trades galore, bringing Cam back. Can’t make this pop up.

    So predictable. He’s not coming back. They want to tank to draft a QB. To bad this is a terrible year to draft one.

    It doesn’t matter as it’s not a cap hit. Tepper can pay coaches and other staff as much as he wants. Look at it this way, somewhere out there is a good coach who is going to jump at the chance to interview here because he knows a payday is coming.

    The DBO sign lives in Darnold’s locker. He might share custody with Brady, but that isn’t confirmed yet.

    Sports is a cyclical business and winning relies on elite talent at the QB position. You cant construct a SB team just because you want to. It takes patience and a lot of luck. Yes, you have to put the right people in charge, but even then things may not bounce your way.

    There was VERY little coverage of the team during camp. It was like the panthers media went out of there way to not talk about Darnold. There are threads about it somewhere. I think they knew two weeks into camp that he had serious issues that couldn’t be corrected.
