    I don’t follow. New contracts typically start paying immediately. At least bonuses do. Even if not, the guaranteed amount is guaranteed. An injury this year and his price might go down.

    I agree. He has all the leverage now. Everyone knows this defense goes nowhere without him. They didn’t pick up insurance so he’s all they got. Now would be the perfect time to holdout.

    WR’s in FA and OL in the 2nd. We have to draft OL. You can’t get quality in FA anymore.

    I think in a few years the idea of passing on Bryce in order to keep DJ Moore and a few picks will sound pretty dumb.

    I’m not convinced a few more years of Richardson and Hurney would have been much better. I wonder who the owner would be if Richardson wasn’t forced to sell? The Walmart people?

    We have some talent for sure. I just don’t see enough of it. The preseason showed just how bad our depth is.

    I think the Falcons may surprise this year. It all comes down to how that QB plays though.

    Oh….he also said it was unfair to blame Rhule for draft picks that don’t work out. Said “we’re all in this too.”

    Fitt just said in his presser that “it’s going to take a little time in the beginning but it should be a strong group closing out the year.” Gave the example of RW’s first year in Seattle and how it didn’t take off until game 8 or something.     All very true. Nick Wright also thinks Bryce is going to be a bust.

    It’s going to take us a few years before we can think about being contenders. If Bryce is what we think he is, it will be easier to attract guys. We’ve been the island of abandoned toys the past few years.

    He’s a young pup. I’m glad he’s passionate about the team. Most draft picks don’t work out, but Scott does need to show that some of these past picks were Rhule and not him.

    I don’t know if Scott is better or worse yet, but I know Hurn was trash. You’re not old enough to remember his first stint here, but it was bad. He draft Clausen because he ‘heard’ he was good. Didn’t do any research into the guy.

    Hurney was terrible. You need to look back at his drafts. Missed on nearly every 2nd round pick but one or two. We got to the SB because we his terrible teams produced multiple top 5 picks.

    You’re seeing two different groups of posters. The doom and gloom crowd shows up in force whenever things are not going well. They disappear when things do go well.

    They traded up for him too. He went to the cardinals and is now with the bengals. About as successful as Little.
