Sadly, that still wouldn’t get us a competent QB.
-
That’s a new one. The story before was that it was finalized but Stafford was vacationing with McVey asked him to make a better offer.

“A lot of mid-tier prospects, but no franchise QB”
Tbe replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes, Cam had problems but he was a heisman winner and national champion. People just didn’t like him because he wasn’t like the nfl QBs at the time. Just like Wilson. Non of these QBs have that kind of resume. -
What would y'all think of hiring Ken Dorsey as HC next year?
Tbe replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sounds like a Huddle narrative. Do we REALLY know Ron and Hurn held him back? I never saw Dorsey do much with Cam during a game outside of handing him a tablet. He seemed intimidated by Cam. Maybe Josh Allens rise has more to do with McDermott or Josh’s personal off-season coach? Point is, we never have any idea how much of an impact assistant coaches really have. Maybe he’s good or maybe he’s Gase with Manning. -

Yeah, I’m not high on Dorsey. He could have done a lot more to help Cam improve and be consistent and he didnt. This feels like the same game that’s played over and over. X player is good so the coordinator gets the credit even if they had nothing to do with it. Lets see how he is calling plays. -
Pickett will be in the league for maybe 4 years max as a backup or camp body.

Panthers have reached out to Minnesota for Kirk Cousins

This sounds like Fitts is just putting together a list of all possible options and their cost. Anyway, Like last year, we have no good options except to suck. -
Panthers hint they are playing a regular season game in Munich

The Rhule panthers violate the Geneva convention. -
How far would the Stafford led Panthers have gone?
Tbe replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
It’s really hard to say. The offense looked good until everyone realized we were running the same plays because Darnold couldn’t handle more. I think we would have made the playoffs with him but the O line and defense would sink us in the first round. -
Yes, that was my opinion of Jake. Cam improved a lot during his time here and didn’t have the support he needed BUT he was never a great passer outside of ONE good year. That weakness in his game ultimately held him back.
-
Burrow is a much better passer than Cam ever was. He could be back but that org might keep him down.
-
No he doesn’t. I love cam, but he never put in the real work to become a better passer. He could have done so much to improve his mechanics but never did. Coasted on his running ability until his freak athleticism aged out.

Lol…why is Delaware interested in Rhule?
-
A bunch of articles are out about him today and they all cite that number. He purchased the weather channel 3 years ago for $300 mil. It hasn’t doubled in worth in that time.
-
We’ll see. He’s definitely getting the team if Roger is asking him to do it. I bet he’ll have a large ownership group with him securing the controlling spot via direct NFL financing. The other owners are effectively buying themselves a minority owner.
-
Right, so he can ‘afford’ to buy 12% of the team if he sinks everything into it. Aren’t there rules stating how much auxiliary cash owners have on hand to have for operational stuff? Sounds like he is either being given money by the nfl to buy the team (free loans or grants) or financing rules are being changed for him.
-
So how is this going to work? Current rules state the majority owner must own at least 30% of a franchise. If Byron liquidated everything he owns, he could only buy 22% (assuming a $2B price). Are they going to give him a huge discount or something or his he taking on a massive pile of debt. Edit: The team is worth $3B.

He graduated from Yale. He’s not your typical blue collar football meat head. That erks people just as much.

Worst Kept Secret at the Senior bowl (Panthers Interest in Pickett)
Tbe replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He’s not on the hot seat next year. The entire coaching staff is. Will they force him to make draft choices that are not in the long term interest of the team? That’s the question. Thier job is to win next year or they’re gone. His job is to keep the team competitive over the long term. -
Worst Kept Secret at the Senior bowl (Panthers Interest in Pickett)
Tbe replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep. All first round QBs last year are better than any of these prospects. How many of those turned out to be worth the pick? Rhule, mcadoo, and the rest of that staff need a QB to save their jobs. Only Fitts can save the org from these bad choices and I’m not sure he has the power. -
IQ is a huge part of QB success.
